The hostel is on a quiet street so you can also rest after a long day or just hang around in the patio and meet others guests and have lots of fun. After renting a penthouse in Playa Del Carmen for a month, I finally came to my senses and took the advice of one of my most respected & favorite travelers (@karlwatson18), who stayed here while visiting Tulum himself (pre-covid times). I decided to make the move and cannot recommend this place more. The staff are enjoyable, warm when you need them to be, and always helpful. As you can imagine, running a hostel during these tumultuous times has got to be one of the most challenging jobs in the travel industry. Still, the crew makes everything enjoyable, safe, and you become instant family at Mama's Home. If you are planning a trip to the Riviera Maya and trying to decide if you should stay in Cancun, Playa, Tulum, Puerto Morelos, or wherever... I can in full volition say that this is where I want to rest my head, meet new people, and spend my time. I skipped their notoriously delicious breakfast every morning and still have the fondest memories of this very special place. With all that is going on in the world at the moment, I had a chance to reflect on the places I have been. To this day, when I think about my favorite hostel I've ever been to, Mama's Home comes to mind. I have been here twice, once in January 2018 and again in March 2019. The first trip could not have been more perfect. I met amazing people from all around the world, visited beautiful places, hung out at the beach and danced all night. It was so amazing, I decided to come back a year later. The most recent trip was even more spectacular. The people are always friendly, the food is delicious and the atmosphere is relaxed and exciting. This time around I met a boy that lives 10,000 miles away from me. A year later, we are making plans to live together in the same country. This place has a beautiful way of making you feel comfortable while providing you with opportunities to experience the culture of the area. I really enjoyed the social atmosphere of Mama's House and the morning breakfast. If you want travel tips and are seeking adventure, they have answers. If you want to party at night, they will go to the clubs. Everything is quiet by 11pm too. Very fun hostel to meet friendly travelers.

If you stop by in Tulum you really have to show up at this hostel. The rooms get cleaned everyday, the breakfast is awesome (they prepare as well meals for special diets) and the staff is super friendly. You can participate in evening activities and they have lots of informations about what to do in Tulum. They turn off the lights at 11 pm at the hostel and whoever wants to party can go with them. I really appreciated that, so you can either choose between relaxing or going out for a fun night!
