The Beach Tulum is the closest place to heaven I have ever been. Also the most water. There is water everywhere. The beach is serene and clean, dappled with lovely fish and freshwater springs from the cenotes. This makes it gentle on the eyes, skin and hair as the waves ebb tension away. There is a Cenote within walking distance if you are curious. Just to the south behind a lovely jungle mall. Here you can purchase Tulum-style clothing, (see instagram) and sunglasses. Ofcourse, you can simply lie on the beach without clothing and a beautiful lady will model and sell you something lovely. (all vendors take credit cards and apple pay) The in house fare is clean and fresh. Fresco's for smoothies, salads, ceviche and lighter fare or Ziggy's for an updated twist on traditional food with local ingredients: Both have fresh veggie and juice cocktails alcohol or none, and notably delicious coffee morning until night. Breakfast is included, and all meals can be taken to your room. For this: second floor rooms: the balcony and even a 3rd floor terrace by the hot tub or ground-floor, but your plunge-pool. Or on your private beach lounge. The evenings, you can go to town. I reccommend taxi or coming back by dark as the local police seem to view the tourists as a cash machine. Wear your seatbelt and do not drive drunk, as any excuse could be costly. Otherwise Tulum is safe. There are likely 100 thousand national police there who drive by all day, fully armed. in white uniforms. They are polite and quiet. The Beach Tulum has stellar security on quiet watch at regular intervals. If you stay, evenings are filled with terrific live bands with strings and horns traditional music and dance. Not too loud, so if you are an early to bed, early to rise, this spot supports that routine. I fell asleep one night to the waves mixed with Louis Armstrong. Here, spend a week without wearing shoes, work from your room, the beach and the bar, without packing a suitcase. You need no toiletries as the room is equipped with natural hand-made body products that work as well as Phillip B. (if so there is a little but well-equipped pharmacy next door with all the meds your doctor will and won't subscribe in the US) The rooms are neat as a pin, western-style. Beds are lush. Mosquitos no... due to the ever-present breeze. Each day mineral water, flat and sparkling fill your fridge, along with snacks and Pellegrino soda. Rooms tend to be cleaned twice a day if by magic, to keep sand out of toes and laptops, towels fresh and clean. Bicycles, Breakfast, Rooftop Yoga, and hydrotherapy is included. 2 years ago I had a mayan massage, which cleared a knot in my neck that very day. The meandering key-hole pool is a private bird-filled sanctuary that joins the rooms to the relaxed open-air lobby with a pool table and quiet bar. The staff are polite English-speakers from latin America and Europe. Most have come to Tulum purposefully to live and work in the environment you will find yourself in-PARADISE.…
