Charming hotel with fantastic interior design. You get a room that is designed to a specific decade, and so well performed. Everything in the rooms, everything in the whole hotel is authentic, which makes your stay so interesting.

My husband and I had a wonderful three day stay at Villa Norangdal! First, the host and staff were so friendly. The host gave us great suggestions for hikes and places to explore during the day. The room was lovely and meals good. The location is amazing. Out our window we could see a small glacier and a beautiful valley....

The villa is secluded in a peaceful little valley, seemingly detached from the world but only 20 minutes away from the Geirangerfjord. An ideal base to explore the area by foot, car, or boat, away from the tourist hordes of Geiranger itself. The rooms are charming and comfortable, the dining room and main salon downstairs are sumptuous, and dinner and...

This hotel is really beautyful! The view of the valley is amazing, the rooms are really big and nice (and they're all from different decades), the beds are comfortable, the food is fantastic and the service is outstanding! Keep in mind it's a small hotel - so no room service. The magnificient Slogen is nearby so we used this hotal...

One of the best places to stay when travelling to Norwegian fjords. Great interiour design, very cosy. Just five rooms, very well equiped and each in different design. Downstairs a lot of space to have a nice time after diner or lunch. We had a nice bottle of wine at a table close to the fireplace in July;). The place...

We were missled by the pictures in the internet and guests opinions. the price was very high 1900 NOK=235$ and we got a very low rate hotel. we had to climb with our suitcases a very narrow stairs to the second floor just to enter a poor old roomw , with no TV, no table, no minibar, and a low...

Just a few minutes drive from the touristy hotspot of Geirangerfjord, this is a small hotel, tucked away in a peaceful mountain valley. We were offered a choice of spacious rooms, all thoughtfully and uniquely decorated with designer furniture, handcrafted wallpapers, and interesting items relating to the history of the hotel and its owners. The bed was very comfortable. Dinner...

We stayed here for 2 nights during our tourskiing-trip and everything was perfect! The rooms have each their own story. The welcome was very friendly! And after a day of skiing the hot tub was a real reward. Dinner was perfect as well. Really the place to be if you are in the Hjorundenfjord-area!

The Villa Norangdal is a real gem, hidden in one of the most isolated, but beautiful, valleys in Norway. It is a boutique hotel with just six rooms, all very tastefully designed to reflect a specific decade of the last century. As we were first to arrive that evening, we got first choice and selected the 'Turn of the Century'...

An excellent boutique hotel with 6 rooms. Friendly and nice personnel. The hotel is located in the wilderness in the wild Norangsdal. Do not expect restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. You will get superb meals, first class local beer and a wine list composed by the sommelier Merete Bø. Great beds, quiet rooms and large bathrooms. Highly reccomended.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Great Indoors, Great Outdoors! Villa Norangdal is a little, wooden hotel from 1885, with 6 double rooms: 1900, 1920, 1930, 1950, 1960 and 1970. The furnishing is a mixture of international iconic design and classic furniture from the Sunnmore region. A tour through the Villa is a journey through the history of design from Art Nouveau via Art Deco to Scandinavian Style and Space Age. Facilities include a lounge with log fire, outdoor jacuzzi and free wireless internet. The dining room serves "glocal food" - local ingredients prepared to global recipes and served with international side dishes and selected wines. The Sunnmore Alps shelter our guests from mobile phone signals, but the location is a fantastic starting point for walks or sightseeing in the Alesund, Geiranger/Trollstigen, Hjorundfjorden and Indre Nordfjord/Stryn areas. For outings we collaborate with DID Adventure, Yourway, Sunalp and Explore North. If you are not tempted by mountains and fjords, our local hosts will give you the best tips for a "Rural Norway Revisited" experience, with the best coffee bars, exhibitions, shopping and architecture. In other words, at Villa Norangdal you can have a holiday in Mountainpolitan Style. For more information see our Facebook page! ... more   less
