We spent 7 nights here in our motorhome. The sites is extremely clean, cared for and well thought out. The private bathrooms- with radio playing were fab. Staff were very friendly helpful and genuine. Martin assisted and advised us about a small issue we had and we were very grateful. The picnic bench on our pitch was an extra not expected but appreciated. We would recommend and have already rebooked. Go and enjoy!

Thank you for your review, we are pleased you enjoyed your stay. We do pride ourselves on the facilities and great to hear you found us all friendly and helpful. We have been extensively investing in solar to keep our electricity costs low so we can keep our pitch fees as low as possible, the solar also go a long way towards our carbon reduction program. We look forward to seeing you again soon Martin

We thought we would try Pinecones for a change, normally stay at Caravan and Motorhome, Sandringham.. Pre-Arrival - Communication from the site was great, any questions I had were answered promptly. However would note here that during our entire stay, I never saw / talked to / met anyone from the site, no warden, nothing… which felt very strange. Check in - is from 1300hrs. However reception closed at 1300 so when I arrived at 1430 I was left with an out of hours check in pack which you collect from the box at reception. All ok but first time on a site a bit daunting to the point I missed how I should park on the pitch. Pitches- level pitches with the heated wooden hut which was lovely. Pitched VERY close together though… separated by a foot width length hedge (when it’s grown), would probably be very claustrophobic when the site if full. It rained when we left for though and drainage is not great, a lot of standing water, accept rain creates puddles, but there are a lot! We also had to pay £5 per night to park a second car on a grass verge, not even a proper car park. … and with a lot of empty pitches around us we felt taken advantage of here a little. But understand, policy is policy… but at least provide a proper car park. Amenities - AMAZING! Facility has a toilet, push button shower and wash basin, with greatest hits radio pumping out! Lovely and clean. Huge bins, lovely play area, only one dog bin and Elson point though, so not sure what it is like when busy. On the second day of our stay though 5 of the 8 bathrooms were closed completely which meant a wait for the toilets on occasion. Not sure why they were closed. Walks - lovely walk from the sites, we got lost following the Sandringham map so would recommend the maps provided are a little more detailed if possible, great idea to provide a QR code for the maps though on the welcome pack, just a little more information needed. Local area - Coop in Dersingham is great, Feathers Pub also great food, (just ignore the rude barman!) Old Hunstanton beach, park cliffs top car park, is great, 10 min drive. Traffic noise - you are on the side of the A149 so yes constant hum of traffic, doesn’t stop, your decision if you would mind it or not. Overall a nice site, can totally see what the owners are trying to achieve but would recommend one less pitch per row to provide more space between pitches. the ECO element of the site is great to see.

Thank you for your review. We are very pleased you enjoyed the site and the facilities. Your comments are well received and can confirm we have made some changes to assist. We have updated our self checkin information that goes out via email and is in the arrival pack to detail that we welcome guests to pop into reception in the morning to may be collect some walking maps and have a chat. All our team are employed 365 days a year and as such we all work around the site off peak , so we have also made guests aware we always pleased for you to pop over and introduce yourself whilst we do the winter jobs. Our wardens are onsite 24/7 contactable via the reception call button if the reception is closed. It is expected that during heavy or continuous rain there will be puddles on site. Whilst we do have mains foul drainage, campsites and rural areas do not have storm drainage , water will drain naturally into the water table over approximately 12 hours post heavy rain. This filling of the water table, it is important as the water authorities extract water from the Uk water tables for towns and cities during summer months. We are very pleased you appreciate the investment we are making in an extensive solar program. We are also currently building bar and all weather terrace where we will showing free films from Easter next year. We hope to see you again soon Martin

Just come back for a 2 night stay at Pinecones. We had a fantastic stay. From check in to check out the staff were extremely friendly and knowledgeable, we were given maps on walks from the site and tips on the best things to do in the area. The shower/toilet facilities were super clean and warm and I loved the music while using them! Can’t recommend the site highly enough for families or couples who want a few days on the beautiful Norfolk coast. We are looking forward to returning in the New Year. Thank you!

We are open 365 days a year so it’s always the staff staff , this time of year we are out and about onsite jobbing whilst it’s quite. The walks are great with sandingham being 30 mins , the pub 20 mins , the coop 10 mins walks. And the beach about an hour . We look forward to seeing you again soon. Martin

We found during our 4 day stay it was disappointing especially after reading such good reviews. The way you are asked in your arrival pack where to park your car - in front of your van luckily we were there when the site was not full, the showers/toilets were tricky to get to at night in the dark and lots of puddles after a rainy day. The lovely village across a busy main road is a 10 min walk with a brilliant fish & chip shop.

It is alway disappointing to get a negative review, as you say your opinion is not supported by other reviews. The parking on pitch is in front of the grass area of the pitch, leaving a clear view from your caravan window, this configuration seems to work very well. Whilst we do have lighting across the site we ensure that we do not affect the dark sky's that are full of amazing stars, that many guest love to see. During heavy rain it is expected that a caravan site will have some puddles, this can only be avoided if the construction is of a Tesco car park design, which is not the look we want. We are pleased you enjoyed the local fish and chip shop, they will also deliver to the gate. Martin

We took our caravan for a weekend away with our 3year old. What a lovely site. The staff were super friendly, the site is immaculate. Great facilities onsite. And so peaceful. Some road noise but not at all bad. We live in the countryside but the amount of stars we saw from here was breathtaking. There we're no noisy parties or people being rowdy onsite. It was just lovely. The only thing we would say as constructive criticism is maybe some automatic lights near some of the water/waste points for these dark evenings, that would be helpful. But other than that really can't fault you. Beautifully kept site with minimal contact if wanted. Can be a complete get away and just minutes away from some lovely beaches too! We will definitely be back and reccomendding you to our friends too! Thanks pinecones

First time staying at Pinecones, lovely friendly knowledgeable staff, great size pitch for our camper van. Super walks to Sandringham and the beach straight from site. Great shower and washing facilities with plenty of hot water. Nice to have radio playing whilst using the showers etc but maybe turn volume down slightly. Overall a fab stay. Many thanks

Thank you for the review. It’s great to hear you have a nice stay with us. We can definitely lower the volume a touch. We are currently quietly working away building a bar and terrace that will be all weather, to include the showing of films like the greatest showman and all the popular blockbusters. We have just completed the re fit of the shop and reception, that looks great and the second phase of solar is also being worked on, that will take us up to 160 panels with more coming over time. We hope to see you again very soon Martin
