Situated on the Namibian banks of the Chobe river, Serondela Lodge is facing the world renowned Chobe National Park. This will ensure all year round close encounters with free roaming wildlife to our guest. The 8 rooms situated facing the river will enjoy spectacular views with endless photographic opportunities. Just 17km from Kasane but far enough to ensure exclusivity the guest will be part of the positive impact of sustainable tourism on this incredibly beautiful area which is situated within a very dynamic conservancy. The Lodge is a JV between the Kabulabula conservancy and the Micheletti family who already operate 2 other lodges in the Linyanti area of Namibia. All of the ventures are a part of the successful and award winning conservancy program, supported by IRDNC and WWF Namibia.

Oh wow! Right on the banks of the Chobe river, only accessibly by boat (about 1,5 hours non stop from Kasane) this place is a seclusion of just 8 rooms, with all the features you need (private bathroom, air fan (not air con), comfy bed, river facing rooms - but slow wifi! ).

You get a huge amount of great food 3 times per day and recover cruises to see wildlife. As the lodge is not fenced off you may also see it walk by your room….meals are mostly set with some small adjustments for allergies and preferences, but I would suspect that die hard fans of specific diets may struggle…..

If you want peace and quiet and like to be in the middle of nowhere …this. Is ideal….

We visited Serondela for 3 nights as part of a broader safari that our family (Grandma, mom and dad, 2 kids) took in Zim, Bots, Namibia, and we loved it! The lodge is in a beautiful spot on the river where you can see hippos, crocs, lions, monkeys, elephants, and more. The rooms are comfortable. The food is tasty. And the hospitality was outstanding.

After visiting a 2 other safari camps where we did games drives on bumpy dirt roads, we especially loved doing “game drives” with the boat on the river. It was a totally different and amazing experience. The guides were friendly and informative, the wildlife was rich, and the river was smooth as glass.

We visited in early February staying for three nights. Simone and his team were very welcoming. Lovely accommodation in a very peaceful setting. The wildlife was amazing and it was great to see so much at close proximity. We greatly enjoyed the boat trips between the lodge and Kasane spotting numerous birds, crocs and hippos!
This was a very enjoyable and memorable stay and highly recommended.

We had such high expectations after reading reviews and talking to our travel agent. And I have to split this review into two pieces: place and staff. The lodge is great. Clean, spacious, just right. The location is literally to die for. The view takes your breath away and you will never come across this variety of animals within a few minutes elsewhere. However the lack of atmosphere and hospitality somehow ruined our stay. Was it a female touch missing? All staff were men. I don’t know. We were particularly annoyed by the fact that they charged us a lunch on the day of arrival ( at 15.00 after 8 hours traveling) despite the fact that we had an all inclusive reservation.

Dear Mkoj62, thank you for your feedback that is very important to us. We do have staff that has to go on leave at times and probably you ended up on a only man's shift.. I can assure you that the majority of our staff are ladies. Concerning the lunch on arrival, our terms&conditions and inclusion are very clear. Probably your agent did not explain them in full and we are sorry you expected something that was not in the first place included. The time of arrival and the duration of your journey can't be blamed on the lodge and it's actually unfair.

A beautiful lodge with clear eco values and links with the local community. I loved the boat transfer from Kasane and the sunset tour; lots of animals and beautiful views. Our tour guide, Nico was fantastic - he was friendly and happy to share his knowlege of the local area as well as the wildlife. All the staff were great, the chefs were trialing new menus when we were there and the food was delicious, served ‘family style’ in the evening. The rooms are comfortable and clean. We stayed for two nights and I wish it had been longer.

Serondella Lodge is an amazing place that awes in beauty, service, dining, caring and kindness. We, a family of 10, just returned from 4 days at Serondella and it was an experience that none of us will ever forget. The facility is just gorgeous, the layout perfect, the food beyond expectations and amazing, but it is the staff that makes this place particularly wonderful. Lorna, the Manager creates the tone for the well run, thoughtful service, with fine dining, impeccable care, and a physical setting which invites the animals into the natural setting creating an experience that can not be imagined. She is exceptional in her creation and management of a perfect experience. Girly warmly manages each guest’s every need with an exceptional staff. From wake up for the twice daily safari, with TJ softly knocking on your door early in the morning, to Aubrey and TJ’s guidance on safaris that boggles the imagination and challenges he the senses, to the unbelievable lunch each day, followed by the evening safari, and then a dinner that just blows you away. All just amazing. And then there is the strong solid hand of Aubrey and the thoughtful and expert leadership and commentary of award winning guide TJ that makes the Serondella safari the best in the area. And those bush cocktail parties and breakfast…….just wow!!! And the thoughtful guidance of Trevor of GoLunar in picking the perfect Lodge……huge thanks.
Serondella is just perfect in every way. We are so thankful to Lorna, TJ, Aubrey and the entire team for a visit that we can never forget.

The Serondela Lodge is built just across the river deep within the Chobe Game Reserve. Just from our lovely cottages, we saw a herd of buffalo grazing in front of our room, elephants drinking from the river, and lions. No game drive necessary. This wonderfully isolated lodge is family run and not part of a chain. The service is customized for your needs. While there we were only able to do river safaris as the covid restrictions into Botswana would have required an additional covid test to enter Chobe Game Reserve. However, the views from our room and what we saw along the river made our 4 night stay very enjoyable. Plus the food was delicious too. Highly recommend!

Really nice lodge. The location is fantastic. Right on the Chobe river but quite a ways upstream from Kasane. Hardly any other boats around, compared to closer to town where the river is quite crowded. Great game viewing on the safari cruises. Elephants galore plus Hippos, Lion and fantastic birding. Rooms are very nice and the food is great as well. Would defiantly stay there again.

We stayed in Serondela Lodge in May 2022. The lodge is situated on the Northern bank of the Chobe River in Namibia, about one hour boat drive from Kasane (Botswana).
The Lodge and all it had to offer were excellent. Simone runs his place very efficiently, and with a nice personal touch.
Premises and food are excellent - no reservations there.
We particularly liked the mode of safari travel which is quite unlike that of most lodges. Animals are seen almost exclusively from boat trips on the Chobe River and iots connestec swampo areas which makes for a unique experience. Game to be seen on a regular basis are elephants, hippos, giraffes, and sometimes lions. One main asset are water birds which occur in great variety.
We recommend Serondela Lodge withouth any reservations or criticisms.

Martin and Rosmarie Fey, Switzerland

In June we have been staying in Serondela for 3 nights. The food was delicious and on a level of a Michelin star restaurant! The tents are very well equipped and located with a nice view. We saw Elephants most of the time and one morning even on the other side of the Chobe river even lions. Also the 1 hours from Kasane immigration to Serondela is well spent - we loved it!
As a start for a vacation it was the perfect location! Thanks to the whole staff, who made it so enjoyable
