Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

A fantastic warm welcome by Sadie in this cosy guest house. I stayed in the garden room which was immaculate, with your own personal garden outside! Breakfast was tasty and plentiful, with nothing too much trouble from the owner. All shops/restaurants/pubs with a 2 minute walk. Would definitely stay again at this little gem of a guest house!

Convenient setting on High Street, a quiet place to stay at the end of the day. Comfortable room with modern conveniences, and a great breakfast to start the day. I cannot say enough good things about Sadie’s welcome, check-in, helpful information (she’s a long-time local) and wonderful breakfasts! She went above and beyond when I had a problem with my foot while on a walking holiday! I will never forget her kindness to me, and to other guests. Sadie is truly a super host.

Stayed for one night and thoroughly enjoyed it. Cosy cottage with log fire and big screen TV in the lounge. Clean comfy bedroom with good WiFi connection free of charge.
Sade the host is lovely and we had a very interesting conversation about the crop circles in the area.
Breakfast was freshly cooked to order with everything you my expect.
Great value for money in a quaint village.

Offered breakfast only at 8 am. because the owner had another guest having breakfast at that time and also had a "tight day", meaning I had to wake up at the same time than when I go to work, so I ended up not having it at all but resting instead as I had a long trip ahead. Previously, I had been asked to do the check-in earlier as the lady had an appointment; and even though I had already bought tickets to visit the Roman baths at 1pm and a dog sitter arranged, I managed to rearrange everything for the day before, just to help. So I was really disappointed by the owner's inflexibility.
The room was also dated, with some spiders' web and stains on the wall from greasy heads and what it seemed a drink or some liquid, a cigarette butt inside the heater (that was not working, although you have an electric radiator that worked perfectly), frayed towels, bed linen and cushions, and a very, very dirty chair that had lost all its filling.
Also, bear in mind that although you can read that "This double room has a washing machine, tumble dryer and electric kettle", only the kettle is in the room; the washing machine and the tumble might be facilities within the house, but I haven't seen them. I understand there is unnecessary to have a washing machine and a tumble dryer in any room, but the information in Booking.com seems misleading.
And as other guests have previously mentioned, there are no locks in your room, so your belongings are clearly at risk.
Overall, I am shocked they rate themselves as a 3* B&B.

This is the most unwelcoming B and B I have ever stayed in. The owners find you an inconvenience and you now have to make your own breakfast and wash it all up. Then of course there is no discount- still had to pay £90 for a single room. Owners couldn’t even be bothered to say goodbye or even see if you were ok in the morning. Stay somewhere else. Plus point- the bed was very comfortable!

The bed part was lovely and comfy and so big it fills the entire room.
The room itself was in a garden outhouse overlooked by next doors kitchen.
The breakfast was a hostel style do it yourself arrangement apparently due to Covid -
not something we've come across in other b and b.
A little disappointing for the money.

This is my 3rd time I’ve stayed here on my way to pick up early from Reading Station tomorrow. It’s such a lovely place to stay and the owner Sadie is lovely. Evening meal always perfect and breakfast lovely too. Definitely recommend to everyone. Room very clean and comfortable.

Not sure if it was bad timing...We were supposed to meet someone at 2pm and the person meeting us didn't get there till 4pm; said she waited till 210pm and had to go to the store. Forgiveness number 1. I am allergic to cats and found there was a kitten there, unexpected babysitting; understandable, but when I told them I was allergic, nothing was done to keep the cat from roaming the common area. Forgiveness number 2. We were going to visit Avebury Stones and the owner offered to take us. She dropped us off which was very kind of her as the drive was approximately 45minutes away. We agreed to be picked up at 3pm and we waited for almost 2 hours...she forgot. Forgiveness number 3. The last was listening to the owners having a domestic dispute, even while we were in the common area. Forgiveness 4.

Don't get me wrong, the place was nice, accommodated all our needs...clean, perfect location to town, walking distance to train station and friendly owners. Just bad timing I guess.

I would have thought the minimum requirement for B&B hotel etc would be locks on the room doors. The landlady appeared upset when I asked 'why no locks' so I left and stayed elsewhere. My friends stayed but moved their private things to my room nearby in Pewsey.
Although the landlady told me she had been there two years without any issues I was dissappointed she couldn't see my point.

Response from Sadie S, Manager at Circles Guest House
Responded 26 Jun 2014
Circles B&B is our home into which we invite any guest who wishes to stay with us. The external doors and windows are locked as you would expect but we do not have internal locks except on the bathrooms. The idea of people having to use a key every time they go in and out of their room does not fit the atmosphere we have created here. We trust our guests and couldn't imagine why anyone would book in to stay in the B&B with the intention of disturbing anyone's belongings etc. If we began to believe this then we might start worrying that our guests may take away any of the many items that are part of the character of our home; that would be very sad as suspicion breeds ill intent and we wish to embrace harmony.
