Wonderful place to stay and super value. Easy to find, ample parking, views of the lake, adequate space in the room with a nice bathroom, very large bed (complete with towel sculptures and local scented flowers and leaves to ward off any stray flies) and super efficient air-con that was better than that we'd had in hotels 4 times the...

Stayed here on a group walking holiday - the whole hotel taken by the group. We were looked after extremely well by the two brothers, their wives and all the staff. As previously mentioned, breakfasts were Portuguese style, but sustaining enough for a day's walking. Evening meal portions, were extremely generous, varied and well cooked. We had a large room,...

We enjoyed a lovely drive through the national park and found this gem. We stopped for lunch and have to say if your this way it is well worth stopping off at. The staff speak very good English and were able to make suggestions about what local dishes to try. Again we have been blessed with another good restaurant.

A hotel in a superb location run by two sisters who married two brothers and they are all fantastically kind, generous and considerate. The four of them make the place the magic that it is. The room was fantastic, immaculately clean and well provided with a beautiful view over the lake. The restaurant served lovely food in enormous portions at...

My partner and I spent 3 wonderful days here. We couldn't believe how beautiful the setting was: the hotel is literally across the road from a stunning still river surrounded by majestic mountains on all sides. You can swim in the river and hire cayaks or pedalos from the hotel next door. Not far up the road you can also...

The hotel was perfectly situated for exploring Geres and the staff were really helpful for us when we were planning our hikes, providing routes of varying difficulty. Dinner was good and we also swam in the lake opposite.

We enjoyed our stay for two nights in Beleza da Serra as it is a good location for exploring the national park of Geres. The street in front of the hotel is not as noisy as it might be expected. You definitively need a car for the location as no shops and restaurants are in walking distance. The advantages are:...

LOCATION The hotel is located in the margin of the Cavado River, near Admeus, about 5 minutes away from Vila do Gerês (by car), and has a fluvial beach just 50 metres away (you just have to cross the road!). ROOM Our room (208) had air conditioner, a double bed, a TV with only 6 channels (4 main Portuguese channels...

This has been my most complicated review so far, as it is made up of mixed feelings. 1st of all, I could have easily rated my entire stay with 5 stars. BUT this would not be directly linked to my hotel, but rather to the whole surroundings / landscape, and friendliness of the hotel staff. However, if we««one would like...

We loved this place so much, we prolonged our stay and still regretted having to leave this cosy hotel and the lovely environment. The owners are super-friendly and very helpful - do get some tipps from them on what to do in the area! It helps that their English is perfect. We would have for sure missed lovely cascades, hot...

“Although the mountain-view rooms are bigger, I still prefer the lake-view rooms. If you go with nice weather, the balcony is a great place to relax. Try to stay away from the restaurant side, or else you will wake up early with the noise from the people having breakfast.”

“Ask if you can have room 109 also known as "the big room" - unless 3 people have booked it, I am sure the owners will let you have it as a double. It does not face the lake (and parking) directly, but has partly lakeview.”
