This is a lovely gem of a site! Originally booked to stay two nights and extended to three. Very pleasant and chatty owners, great views and some quirky touches like the fiat bbq and portable hot tub. Owners were busy making improvements to the site like more showers etc while we were there and we took advantage of their Chinese delivery service from Ripon. Short walk to the nearest town and pub and loads to see and do in the local area. We loved it!

Stayed here as a family of 2 adults , one child (age 12) and our dog.
Can’t fault the location, close to Ripon, Dales, Fountains Abbey, Brimham Rocks.
Campsite has plenty of room and surrounded by fields, good views and mature trees. We found it a bit breezy but was a windy weekend and campsite is on a rise - but plenty of flat pitches.
Separate walking/ exercise field for dogs.
No play area if your kids want this but loads of room to play ball games etc.

We hired a fire pit on the second night (£5 a night) which was great as the evening was a bit cooler but took our own logs as thought £10 was a bit pricy for the ones in site.

Friendly staff and no problems booking via email with the campsite owners.

There were a few groups when we were there so no restrictions like some for COVID. Campers were respectful and even though not allocated pitches there was with plenty of social distancing.

Fabulous fish and chips from the village fisheries but call and order to collect or you will be waiting a while. Village shop has plentiful supplies including beer/wine etc.

Pub in village we didn’t use this. You can Order Chinese to be delivered on site but didn’t use this service.

This is a basic campsite so if you are after spotless amenities then it won’t be for you. The toilets are just ok but imagine in busy season you may be waiting for showers/ toilets. 3 men’s, 3 ladies , 2 unisex in the 2 bathrooms. 4 showers. Good supply of hot water and my partner said the shower he used in one of the bathrooms was very good.
Was a bit disappointed there was a lack of hand sanitizer and didn’t see anyone cleaning at any point over the weekend. There was cleaning materials in the toilets however.

Microwave, freezer and toaster a good extra in a separate pot wash room so if you want to refreeze your ice blocks you can.

We paid £30 a night which I think is a little bit expensive for what is a basic site and have stayed in cheaper sites with better facilities so unfortunately a bit like some others this is the reason we won’t be going back.
I’ve marked it four stars mainly for the location
and the actual campsite which was pretty. I’d say toilets/ facilities would be a 3*.

We have just had a fantastic weekend glamping on the double decker bus. When we got there Sam the owner came to greet us and he was incredibly helpful, he lit the hot tub for us and made sure we were settled in ok. The bus is very well equipped with a fully fitted kitchen, dining area, 2 bedrooms and 2 bunks, shower and loo, bedding and towels. Any questions we had Sam answered immediately and helped us when we couldn’t work out the oven lol. Nothing is too much trouble. The facilities on the site are great and clean. Having our own private hot tub was brilliant, we spent 70% of the weekend in it! The site is only a few minutes walk into the village which had a shop, pub that serves great food, a fish and chip shop and a butchers. You can also get Chinese food delivered from Ripon. There are lots of lovely walks nearby and the site has amazing views of the beautiful countryside. It is definitely worth a visit and we will definitely be back, we loved it.

This was our 1st visit to ivy bank campsite. Fantastic spot, beautiful views & scenery. Lots of space for adults & children to move around & play. Good facilities including a pot wash shed that has a microwave, kettle, toaster, mini oven with hob, 2 fridges & a small freezer for ice packs. Also, electric socket with space to charge your phones/ipads etc
I do think £35 per night for a non electric pitch is very expensive, especially for a tent! We've never had to pay this & think next year we'll join the camping & caravanning club to get better priced pitches.
The showers were good & plenty of hot water in the taps too. I was disappointed that the toilets & showers were not once cleaned during our 3 days stay, especially with Covid 19 having affected the UK as it has. There were also no Covid 19 related signs/reminders anywhere.I noticed toilet paper was replenished but only in 1 of the ladies toilets & the bins were not emptied at all. Toilet gel & a cleaning spray is provided, but I'm not sure having to clean the toilets is part of the camping experience!
There is a mop & bucket outside the showers which most people used after themselves, but again, it's nice to wake up & go into a nicely cleaned & smelling shower. This is another thing guarenteed with the camping & caravanning club. Our pitch overlooked one of the glamping pods. On our 2nd day we went out at 10.30am and waved to the family staying in the glamping pod/yurt,but when we returned from our day out at 4.30pm, there was a different family set up & staying in the yurt! This seems a very quick turnover during the covid-19 pandemic!!
All in all, a good site but really need to take on the role of keeping their customers as safe as is possible, starting with a regular thorough cleaning routine in ALL public areas.

Booked the horse box for 2 nights for my partners birthday, we were allowed 1 pet which was very helpful. The horse box it self we found for us was something different and a experience, we did enjoy it however the sofa bed was very uncomfortable and small. The site its self was nice, nice 10 minute walk down into the local village where they have a pet friendly pub, we went to the fish shop too which was nice. The owners of the site were friendly, we ordered a Chinese which got delivered for free by the owners, again which was nice.

Unfortunately we did find the showers and toilets very dirty, we did take on board this is a camping site however the same muck in the shower was there all weekend and the same with the muck on the toilet. We seen someone clean the bathroom, which was throwing some blue stuff down the loo and mopping the floor. The bathroom wasn't actually cleaned! Due to covid and bathroom sharing this made us feel very uncomfortable and I found it extremely dirty and a risk.

For me weather it be staying in a hotel or a camping site, the 2 main priorities to staying somewhere is a good night's sleep and a clean bathroom to get washed and changed, unfortunately for us this didn't happen.

Due to this, we decided to travel back home late on our last night.

Campers were friendly!

But this wasn't for us, as we booked glamping not camping we found it was the opposite.

2/3* due to uncomfortable bed and dirty shower block and toilets.

We booked Ivy bank campsite for May bank holiday but due to Covid we couldn’t go so we rebooked for the summer holidays. We booked for four families all with EHU. One of our party forgot their hook up but Sam was very helpful and lent them an extension.

The facilities are Quirky, there is a horse box with kitchen equipment in which is great, a microwave, kettle etc. The toilets and showers are a bit basic and a little shabby, not cleaned often and often no toilet paper (we just took our own) but there was plenty of hot water for showers.

We hired the hot tub which is great fun, £50 from 12 till 12 but it takes approx 5 hours to heat up, they give you a free box of logs but there after it’s £10 a box of which we needed two more.
Fire pits are £5 a night to hire.
It’s a site for group bookings, I don’t think we saw one lone family, we had a good time as a group, played rounders, played on a rope swing, went to the park, took a walk to the next village across the footpaths. However we had a loud group behind us who didn’t take kindly to being asked to turn the music down at 10:30, we called the warden who came out at about 11:30 and again asked nicely which seemed to wind them up even more - not the sites fault at all but I think they probably should make a point of telling all adult parties that it is a family site and loud noise/foul language won’t be tolerated.

It’s in great location and beautiful views. All in all we had a nice time. If you’re looking for immaculate facilities and quiet camping this isn’t the site for you.

10/10 campsite and experience
booked very last minute due to a kayaking event we were meant to be going to being cancelled the day before but still wanting to find somewhere to camp and paddle. group of 7 of us, 4 tents. owners were very accommodating of this and allowed us to make a short notice booking and pay on arrival. campsite itself is in a great location, has beautiful views (once the fog cleared up!) and close by to some really helpful locations, both for paddling and for food shopping etc. local pub was great and only a 5 minute walk - not sure what previous reviewer means about dangerous walk to it, it’s literally 5 minutes in a straight line along a pavement!
facilities were great - showers, individual toilets, a fridge and freezer, microwave, kettle and sink for washing up. owners said they are in the process of updating and expanding the shower block so there’s more showers but what’s there currently was great for us (although it was very quiet while we were there so i imagine in busier periods the site could benefit from a few more).
we arrived very late on friday evening which wasn’t an issue at all and owner came to see us on saturday morning to say hi - very friendly and welcoming.
campsite has fire pits! really made for a great evening and kept us warmer in the freezing november weather! plenty of firewood around to keep it going too and was great fun as an evening activity and to cook over

overall really lovely experience, we stayed for 2 nights and will definitely look at going back with bigger groups. highly recommend!

Nice and relaxed campsite with decent facilities for a few days camping. Outdoor showers were interesting, could do with a few more showers though and a little more enhanced cleaning given the current environment. Village within walking distance which is good with small pub. PS bring your own wood but rent a fire pit there.

The campsite is in a lovely location, with a large area that means you can be relatively spread out. Although recorded music is allowed, quiet time was strictly enforced at 10pm and only the owls, cows and sheep could be heard through the night.

There were enough amenities for all with minimal queuing, although the cleaning regime left lots to be desired. I'm not sure the toilets were cleaned even daily.

Lots of lovely touches including amazing fire pits, a mobile hot tub and an ice cream shop.

Would love to stay again, if they can get a better cleaning regime in place.

The only reason I didn't give this 5 stars is because the kitchen area was dirty however having said that it did not spoil our stay as we took all our own camping equipment so we made our cuppas and breakfasts out doors. It was very quiet and out of season so maybe that is why it wasn't cleaned.

We stayed I. The horse box which was very cosy and warm. It had electric and heating so we were not cold and we're able to charge our phones.

The owner was very welcoming and friendly. The showers were nice and hot. There is also a communal area with sofas were we had our evening takeaway as the nights were quite cold.
There are fire pits to use on site which was very useful.

Lots of lovely walks near by.

Chinese restaurant Taste in Ripon was excellent.

We would definitely return.

Thanks for accommodating us at such short notice.
