I was going title my review ' you get what you pay for' but someone has already beaten me to it ! At these prices, you ain't going to get five star luxury. I would describe it as a 'convenient place to crash' as you wouldn't want to sit in your room all night. However, as we were out all... More

I found this B&B a great place to stay, room was very clean, a great breakfast and wonderful views,I have just booked another 5 nights so that says it all. It is right next to the Canal, with a very good pub 1 minute away serving good meals.

We stopped here during a kayak trip down the Soar raising money for Loros, a local hospice. The location was ideal as it was right next to the canal lock so all we had to do was lift our boats out of the water. My wife and I had a downstairs twin/double room which proved to be quite spacious as... More

Unfortunately we didn't get to meet Sue, due to family commitments, but her welcome note was a lovely touch. My husband spoke to Sue on a number of occasions and she was always helpful and friendly. The other reviews mention the decor, and it is a bit mis-match, but it does make the place seem very unique. Our room had... More

For the price and location, you can't beat it. The decor isn't the best but you can't complain for the price. The breakfast was nice and plenty of choice. We would go back next time we're in the area.

I have stayed at the riverbank last time I was travelling to leicester a few years ago. Came back again to find there has been a lot of renovation but still their prices are just £20 per night for a single room. Fantastic breakfast clean and always walm. Thanks guys.

I stayed for one night , my room was very comfortable , bedding very clean , but my bathroom was not very clean . Toilet seat was loose , and bottom of shower cubicle had come away from the base . Lots of cobwebs on toilet window , which I think hadn't been open for months . The views from... More

Very reasonably priced but old carpets, in the bathroom too, my pet hate! Some of furniture should have been thrown out and two rooms I saw needed a modern update in colours and furniture.Could not open window very far in ground floor room on warm night. But amazing value considering right next to narrow boats on River Soar and watermill.... More

Thanks to Sue & the staff @ the Riverbank! Basic, but warm and clean & in a beautiful location. We arrived on a very cold night to a lovely warm room, very quiet. The breakfast, in a lovely breakfast room was made all the better by the warm welcome of a great staff - thanks for making our stay so... More

We live in the village and have used this b&b a couple of times for friends. Without exception all have reported back that the service is very friendly with a great breakfast, however the rooms are for those with simple tastes.
