This country house hotel is an absolute jewel. From the moment we stepped inside the door we felt at home. The hotel is warm and cosy. The staff are extremely professional and welcoming. Our room was immaculate. Big soft bath towels, lovely local toiletries. Very comfy bed. We had a three course dinner and wine pairing, which was excellent. All in all I would highly recommend staying here, be it for a night when "passing through" or for a longer holiday. We'll definitely be back!

We had a lovely time at this house. Lovely surroundings, close to Snowdon and a really nice, comfortable room. The staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The room was comfortable and very relaxing. The staff aren’t overbearing and let you get on with your holiday but are on hand with advice/tourist info if you need it. Extra points for their patience when I drunkenly lost the room key for half of my stay. They helped me look for the key and were fairly relaxed about it, even though I’d have put them to a massive inconvenience if it had have been lost for good.
Some reviews have said that the room is overpriced. Yes, £400 for two nights, dinner, bed and breakfast is expensive. However, the food is very tasty, the breakfast itself is three courses and you get some added extras like canapés and bread. I also booked a “small” double room - it wasn’t small at all. A king sized bed, two chairs and an en suite. I’m not sure if we were upgraded for free (in which case, thank you) or if we got lucky, but I have absolutely no complaints about the size of the room.
The owner’s daughter also lent me a posh hair mask to save me having to go out for conditioner. Another nice touch.
I’ve read some of the negative reviews on here and, while I’m not able to comment on the veracity of those reviews, I will say that they are absolutely not consistent with what I experienced.
Overall this is a really lovely family hotel. If you’re expecting a party holiday or to be in the centre of a town surrounded by bars and restaurants then this isn’t for you. But it’s a very convenient place to stay if you want a relaxing and slow paced holiday within very close proximity to mount snowdon.

Just back from a two night stay at this lovely hotel. Had a well decorated room on the first floor overlooking the front of the building. The room was well stocked with water, tea and coffees an additional nice touch was the option of fresh milk I. A fridge by the reception area.

Food was amazing enjoyed the monk fish starter as recommended by Glenn’s as well as the Beef main course. There were several breakfast options to please all, well presented and good portions.

All staff were polite, welcoming and professional. A bug shout out to Glenn’s who was friendly and informative and made our stay pleasurable.

There is lots to do in the area including Snowdonia hiking trail, only wish I was staying longer.

We had a lovely 2 night stay here recently, booked at fairly short notice as we had entered the Jones O Gymru Anglesey half marathon. We had one standard double and one superior king room. Both are located in the main hotel. The superior was on the ground floor with a lovely little terrace and great views. Rooms were very well equipped; toiletries were included as well as tea/coffee. Rooms clean and tidy. As some covid restrictions were still in place we didn't expect the rooms to be serviced during our stay, however they were, which was great. Our only criticism would be that the rooms were quite chilly, maybe the times that the heating is on needs tweaking?
Because we needed an early start on the Sunday for the race, I had spoken to Hillary on the phone before our stay and she said they could provide an earlier breakfast for us. We spoke to the staff about this once we were at the hotel because we needed to leave earlier than I thought. They were extremely helpful and suggested providing packed lunches for us in lieu of breakfast. When we came down on Sunday morning the lunches were all nicely packed up ready for us to take. They were very welcome later on post-race! We had also asked if we could check out late on Sunday and return to the rooms for a shower. We were able to leave our things in one room and use that. We very much appreciated being able to do that.
Food - we had booked B&B and breakfast was lovely! Staff were very attentive, helpful and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The choice was excellent, all ordered and delivered to your table, no buffet. Fresh tea, coffee and juices. A great start to the day. We also had a meal in the restaurant on Saturday night. They have an alternating menu depending on the day you are dining. Not a huge choice, but this means that you get better quality and fresh food. Lots of lovely local produce. This is a fine dining restaurant and the food is not cheap. Again, service was excellent.

There is a nice bar, a comfy lounge and conservatory to relax in. The location is good, easy to find, nice and quiet. Attentive staff and Hillary and her team work really hard to ensure you have a pleasant stay. Our thanks go out to Glesni who really made the difference.
As mentioned previously the staff were all very friendly and helpful, we definitely intend to come back to Ty'n Rhos.

The hotel was ideally situated slightly off the main roads, only a few miles from Caernarfon, Bangor and Anglesey. There were views from the terrace and dining room across the gardens towards Anglesey. We chose this hotel as an anniversary break, the greeting was friendly with a tour around the main features of the hotel before being taken to our room. Our room was comfortable with tea / coffee making facilities with fresh milk available if preferred. One quirky feature was the taps in the bathroom turn on in opposite directions.
Breakfast offered a good range of options which were freshly prepared and served by attentive staff. There was a variety of meals available in the evening, the atmosphere was very relaxed and the friendly staff all added to our enjoyable break.

To celebrate my husband's birthday we were able to enjoy the hospitality of this wonderful small country house hotel. It was not our first visit but this time we stayed in one of their superior rooms on the ground floor of the main building. This room opens onto a private patio area, but of course given the weather we could not enjoy it. A pity!
It was absolutely everything one would expect from a high class country house hotel room, a huge comfortable bed and sofa.
The restaurant offers fine dining at its best and is very reasonably priced. As we live locally we were able to enjoy their February discount. Breakfast is copious and very well cooked. It was good to see that the fruit salad was made entirely of fresh fruit . The service for dinner and breakfast is quick and fuss free. Perhaps it would have been even better if the lighting in the dining room had been slightly brighter.
We have had afternoon tea there before and have always enjoyed it tremendously. There is a very comfortable bright conservatory with great views over the gardens.
We shall definitely return

I booked three double rooms, two for single occupancy for Four nights. Despite a number of changes by family members including a room cancellation and rebooking the staff were most attentive and helpful. I also booked a funeral buffet for 30 guests. What can I say , despite the sad occasion everyone were made welcome, the food was lovely and plentiful. I have received comments made to me after this from guests praising tyn rhos for their hospitality.
Our rooms placed around the courtyard were well decorated, with nice new bathrooms, The rooms were restocked with tea and coffee daily. Each of the rooms had an outside seating area. the original outbuildings had been sensitively updated keeping the old style and charm. it was lovely to sit amongst fragrant flowers and watch the small birds flying in and out of their nests under the eaves.
The food was well presented and tasty, with nice options for each course and an excellent wine selection. Breakfast had numerous options and nothing was too much trouble. All of our family group have stayed in hotels and guest houses around the world both for business and pleasure.
This is one of those that I cannot wait until my next visit.

Tyn rhos is a great place to relax in north Wales.
Hillary and her staff were attentive and professional, especially Glesni and Aled on the later shift.
Our room was generous, comfortable and spotless with lovely views of the mountains, albeit with a bit car park but that didn’t matter(room16).
The breakfast was plentiful with good choice, the evening dinner is not to missed! The chef and his team creating 1st class food for every course,of which there is a choice of 4 per course. The menu is alternated daily, but I could have eaten the same food every day,it’s that good!!
I really liked that they run a tab for whatever you have extra, drinks or food and you settle up when you checkout,no need to keep your wallet with you at all times.
One last thing I don’t get where the negative reviews have come from because what I experienced was a superbly run country house with fabulous staff and awesome food.
Thankyou Tyn Rhos for a great break!!

We stay in Ty'n Rhos whenever we are visiting family. Without fail, the food and service are excellent. We have just returned from a 2 day stay and wanted to post a review in COVID-19 times. The team at Ty'n Rhos have organised themselves really well and the stay was as enjoyable and relaxing as always. The food is always of a really high standard. The service is efficient. We have stayed in a number of the rooms and have found all the accommodation to a very high standard.

We stayed here last month, the room was large and comfortable with nice views however at £205 per night I expected more, we have recently stayed in a hotel in Conwy which was more luxurious for less. Breakfast was nice would have been nice to have been offered pastries. Staff were very friendly. Shower was not very powerful. Lovely location.

Although some of the rooms are upstairs and there are no lifts, there are several rooms at ground floor level (more like studio type accommodation). There are ramps leading to the hotel but be aware of where you park as much of the car park is gravelled. I am sure that the owners/staff will be more than willing to advise and help.
