I ended up staying at the hostel toward the end of their season. Dawn was a great host! She is friendly and helpful host. She was full of great recommendations on hikes and picturesque locations. The hostel has a great set up with 2 sets of kitchens and good common areas. She encourages the guests to interact by hosting games...

I had an excellent experience staying at the HI Cabot Trail. Dawn and Shane are very friendly and offer knowledgable insight into local events and activities. The hostel is kept very clean, is spacious and offers home like amenities. Overall a well run place and very affordable!

Good hostel which was very clean! Bunkhouse was good and cleaned regularly Friendly host and great location. Two separate kitchen areas and enough space to be out of people's way. Would definitely return.

This is a wonderful hostel - there's a big bunkhouse as well as smaller dorms and private rooms. There are two fully-equipped kitchens and a bbq on a deck. There's also a fire pit which everyone is welcome to use! Dawn at the hostel is the most wonderful host you could ever have - so friendly, welcoming, and has a...

We loved our stay at Cabot Trail hostel! It exceeded our expectations, and we would happily go back! :-) the host was incredible, she helped us along the way and was very service minded. Location is nice as well, close to the hiking trails, Rusty Anchor (with incredible lobster rolls!) and whale watching that guarantee whales ;-)

We stay there for one night in a private room. The staff is really friendly and helpful. The room is quiet cozy and clean. The washroom and kitchen are tidy as well. What you can feel in the hostel is comfortable and relaxation.

Dawn the host is as welcoming as it gets, plenty of common areas. No food available in pleasant bay and sadly no breakfast at the hostel so do stop in chéticamp on your way not only for the Acadians but for a pit stop.

Dawn, a woman who works at the hostel, is very kind and hospitable. She always has a friendly and welcoming smile and creates a very homely and comfortable mood in...

On Canadian Thanksgiving weekend you can count on everything in pleasant bay being fully booked well ahead because the Celtic colours festival throughout Cape Breton draws people from all over the world. The hostel was the only place with space when I booked a few weeks in advance. My 18 year old son and I had a great stay. We...

Had a lovely stay. Much appreciated the warm welcome and walk-around / tour of the hostel. Very helpful and friendly staff. The summer kitchen is lovely and a great place to meet other hostellers. Dawn gave us excellent recommendations on where to go to the beach and to get seafood. Make sure you get groceries before you arrive as there...
