A year is for some usually a long time in the technology industry, not at the Hope and Anchor it isn't !!! . We have been an annual visitor to Hope Cove for over 15 years now and have witnessed first hand the considerable changes the have happened in the village. In recent years the Hope and Anchor has undergone...

Great location and set up. However, we had a drink here last night and the rose wine was off, and we ate here tonight and I ordered a starter size quinoa and feta salad, which was lovely but had no quinoa in it! Apparently the modules frites and bouillabaisse was good, as was the steak. Friendly service although attention to...

The Hope and Anchor is a pub/restaurant and hotel in the centre of Hope Cove. We sat outside and had a couple of rounds of drinks and a couple of bowls of chips. I thought the menu looked a little expensive for pub fayre, but Hope Cove is that sort of place! The tables outside on the street allow you...

Myself and my fiancé come here often, sometimes from Torquay, because it's so nice here. Amazing setting right next to the beach. Food always yummy. Staff always very welcoming and friendly. This pub is dog friendly too (both inside and out). I would thoroughly recommend! :-)

After 20 years of mediocrity (sorry but it's true), finally a decent pub in Hope Cove. Fully refurbished. Fantastic welcome from the staff, swift service and lovely food and beer at competitive prices. I'm sure it will get very crowded in the summer (and no doubt the service will be slower), but what a difference! Well done to the Management,...

Stayed for two nights recently while attending a wedding in nearby Salcombe. The inn is part of the St Austell Brewery chain and we had stayed at another property previously so knew that we would get good value for money and quality food and drink. The staff were welcoming and showed us to our room straight away. It was comfortable...

First visited over forty years ago and due to it's location on the Devon Coastal Path have been a regular visitor ever since. Change has been gradual and I suppose commercial priorities force change, that said, still a good pint, good food and prompt service. Obviously very popular as every time I try to stay, it is always fully booked....

Good service and generous Pub meals. Good ales. Feels set up for fast turnover. Efficient modernised traditional feel. So don't expect the charm and character of real Devon pub. The position overlooking the beach and adjacent brilliant South Hams coast for walks makes it ideal stopping point.

Good selection of freshly cooked food throughout the day. Large open pub/bistro with very friendly and helpful staff. Beers and ciders are wide and varied. We have eaten here many times and the standard has always been the same. Very good
