We loved our stay at Le Grand Chalet with Christine and Luc. They greeted us with a big smile when we arrived and our kids liked them immediately. The building has great views from the Col St Martin down the Valdeblore valley which we enjoyed from the terrace and our balcony. We had dinner and breakfast there and the food...

Took a group of 12 friends for a weeks hiking in the French Maritime Alps with Space Between guides. We occupied 6 of the 7 rooms at Luc and Christine's chalet. Within a day they knew everyone's name and treated us like family. Incredibly hard workers, they were up a 5 every day laying out an extensive cold breakfast with...

We stayed in the Grand Chalet in May 2015 on our mountainbike tour from Barcelonette to Nice. This place is highly recommended, especially because of the exceptional hospitality. The owner serves his home-made wines, the dinner and breakfast are superb and the atmosphere is just very pleasant.

I spent 3 days in le Grand Chalet for relaxation and some trekking in the nearby. It has been a nice surprise: conveniently located and easy to access by bus from Nice, clean rooms, nice view and terrasse, excellent food mainly with local and organic products, friendly hosts, ... All of this is at an affordable price, quite difficult to...

Le Grand Chalet needs a rating all of its own - we'd give it 20 out of 10! Warm hospitality, fabulous cuisine (especially the wonderful array of homemade preserves, cakes and yoghurt for breakfast; and the delicious evening dinners), comfortable rooms with stunning views - the place is an absolute gem. Great location as a base for hiking or biking....

We, 4 friends cycling 'la route des grandes alpes', arrived here after a hard day climbing the col de vars and la bonette. Arriving at 19:30, we were welcomed with open arms were it turned out that the other guests were waiting on us for dinner. Dinner itself: fantastic! See other reviews. Great food & eating all together at one...

We passed a week at the chalet for Christmas 2011. The accommodation, hosts and food were excellent.Probably the best Chambre d'Hote we have stayed in ( and we owned one! ) You will need plenty of exercise though to work of those delicious calories. Would definitely want to stay again - but I suspect that is what everyone says.

We just wanted a short mountain get-away and I came across this 'Gite' on the internet. The hospitality and food are great and not too expensive. The rooms are basic and comfortable, and there is a lounge area where you can sit and read, etc. Luc and Christine are good at giving ideas on what to do around the area...
