Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

They upgraded us to an ocean view room for reason out of their control. Breakfast excellent and massive. All the staff helpful and very pleasant, a huge thank you to James especially, nothing was to much trouble for him, he was attentive to our every need and even gave us a lift after his long shift into town. The rooms were spotless providing tea and coffee facilities. A lovely relaxed atmosphere. Will be definitely booking up again.

We went on the evening of my daughters wedding there were seven of us in the wedding party based in the outside rooms. It was the coldest Autumn night and there was no heating in any of the rooms. Baltic and damp can only describe the conditions, we all ended up in bed with sweatshirts on! What was meant to be a memorable evening turned out to be memorable in the wrong way! The rooms were not serviced as the room that slept four had only two cups and three towels so in the morning of the wedding the bridesmaids were sharing cups. The showers for all seven of us were not hot just lukewarm and because the rooms were so cold the condensation was horrendous actually running down the walls and television. Some of the bridal party stayed a second night and miraculously the heating was on after we had made a complaint in the morning!! Although the upstairs room in the four bedded accommodation was damp. Once again only serviced for three people although there was four! The rooms were very expensive for what they are, we have all stayed in far superior rooms for a lot less money. We complained to the hotel and had no response. The management knew it was for a wedding but no effort was made to make it a pleasant experience. It would have been nice to have been given the rooms shown in the photos on the website for this special occasion to make it a pleasant memory.

Nothing but good things to say about The Victory, had a suite which was great value, roomy and super clean. Very comfy beds and pillows. Fantastic breakfast included, totally recommend the seafood platter for dinner too. Special shout out to Chloe and Little Pete who served us and chatted with us and were very flexible, they provided great service and made us feel totally at home. Great location and spectacular views of the sunset over the water. Will definitely go back!

We had a very disappointing stay here. Our room wasn't cleaned, towels not replaced, used cups left but we were given daily promises that this would all be sorted out. We also had an hour wait for breakfast on the first morning as the order wasn't given to the kitchen! This is a criticism of both the staff and the hotel management. We were told on several occasions that they were short of staff. This really isn't acceptable. We wouldn't recommend this venue to anyone. Great location but, as a hotel, totally lacking.

Just had a 2 night stay at the victory inn and had a wonderful time. The staff were friendly on arrival, shown to our room which was very nice and clean with an amazing see view. 24 hour access which was great as you can come and go as you please. Breakfast was also nice. Will definitely stay again sometime.

Its a Pub. My clean bedroom was small with a great view from the balcony across the boat yard to the sea beyond. Dinner in the Urban Fresh was dissapointing. We enjoyed our breakfasts with Barista standard coffee, and the bar snacks on our last evening were good. We came for the fish and did not find it at the Victory but we enjoyed our visit and will come again. There is an air of enthusiasm about this pub. Complements to Assistant Manager Kim. As we were leaving they were opening their new Seafood Truck. Good Luck with that.

First visit and Last visit. Nice location overlooking the sea, modern bright sunny airy interior, quick service, pleasant polite staff, clean tables, very nice. Food experiece poor. £15 for a ham sandwich, dreadful, large chunks of dry ham, chucked between thick supermarket-sliced white bread, overcooked chips, no garnish. Huge battered cod, again grossly over-cooked, what a let-down. Needs a new chef.
