If you want to see the real Spain, unspoilt coastlines, pueblo villages perched on hillsides, the rolling desert landscapes, then Cotijo del Sevillano is a great place to base your self. From the welcome when we arrived, to the dinners and recommendations for visits, to the send-off Gail and Mick make you feel like family and know the perfect balance... More

Having travelled all the way from Australia the three of us were very unsure what to expect. Would we be stuck in the middle of nowhere? No, it's only minutes to the nearest town, and 10 minutes to the beach. Would the food be horrible? No, the food was superb restaurant quality served with panache. Would the people be horrible?... This was our third break at Cortijo Sevillano where once again Mick and Gail made us so welcome. The cinema evening in their courtyard with its adjacent bar was very special, and Gail should publish a cookbook with her wonderful recipes, some of which appear on her Yummy Almeria blog. The only downside? ....having to leave. We'll be back.

Cortijo del Sevillano was the best place we stayed at during our 3-week-holiday in the south of Spain and probably the least expensive one! Ever since we got back home a month ago, I can tell you I left my heart over there ;). Gail and Mick, the most friendly people in the world, and their two funny dogs, Digby... More

Cortijo del Sevillano is a tastefully decorated and lovely restored original Andalucian farmhouse set in beautiful countryside. The nearest beach is 10 minutes drive away so we chose to head off their most mornings and come back to Sevillano to chill out by the pool. Delightful place to stay with very helpful hosts - we'll already planning another visit in... More

We've just returned from a great week here, the Cortijo is beautiful, really nicely decorated, large rooms with a lovely ensuite in one of the rooms. The breakfast each day set us up perfectly for each day's adventures and nothing was too much trouble for Gail and Mick who seem like they really enjoy having you to stay. We'd recommend... More

We have recently returned from a week at Cortijo del Sevillano and what a lovely place it is. It is so easy to reach by car from Almeria airport - takes less than an hour and the instructions were faultless. Sevillano is a charming, converted farmhouse that's about 200 years old with lots of character, although it's conversion to a... More

The beauty of Cortijo del Sevillano is not just its stunning rural position, nor is it the lovely individual rooms, but it is the friendly greeting from the owners, Mick and Gail, who immediately welcome you into their home. Gail's cooking just adds to the experience; she serves breakfast as part of the package and also offers dinners on certain... More

We stayed at Cortijo de Sevillano for ten days in May and can't recommend it highly enough. The house is an old Spanish farmhouse which sleeps around 10. It has been made very comfortable throughout and tastefully done. Gail who runs the Cortijo is an excellent cook so do plan to 'eat in' a few times if you're going to... More

We received the most wonderful service from Gail and Mick - nothing was too much trouble. The information pack they gave us about places and beaches to visit nearby was thoroughly comprehensive and very useful. The breakfasts on the terrace were so beautifully presented - much more 5 star country house hotel than B&B. We enjoyed a few evening meals... More
