Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It would appear that the lodge site are in the process of changing ownership , I have paid a deposit but decided to cancel due to the fact no-one is getting in touch with me regarding my booking , no calls or emails so I'm left wondering what's happening. Be very cautious if booking here .

thank you soooo much for our lovely stay at Rosehill Lodge. It's so secluded as it's in a forest and a stone's throw from Porthtowan. The lodge was spacious had grass over the roof which kept it cool and we all slept so well !! We loved the hot tub especially as it had a see-through covering high above it. My kids loved Porthtowan for surfing and it was so much fun, however we didn't like the Unicorn Pub food but the Fishsmith takeaway (fish and chips) food was 'Outstanding'. There are so many places nearby to visit within 30 mins of driving and we visited: St. Ives, Carbis Bay (so beautiful), Penzance esp the unusual shops, Moosehole, (Fore Street restaurant food is amazing) Porthleven (park out of village) and St Michael's Mount which you need to book online beforehand as some people couldn't get to see it. All in all we had the most AMAZING time there ...thank you!!

I cannot praise the lodge highly enough, it was immaculate, spacious, well furnished, well equipped including beach equipment. Although there are other lodges close by it was well concealed and private. They The beach is clean and there are plenty of walks. They even provided a doggy hamper and thanks to their thoughtfulness we could even have tea/coffee and egg on toast on arrival. The management and staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. The hot tub had obviously been cleaned before our arrival and checked daily. It deserves its “gold standard” Sue Simpson

We have been staying here for many years, and would not hesitate to recommend to anyone, the Lodges are wonderful set in a beautiful location, quiet, very central with Porthtowan beach only 5 minutes walk. The staff are all very helpful, 5 stars plus from us, and look forward to seeing you again shortly. Mr & Mrs Smith

Our third year visiting for two weeks in January - perfect base for peace and tranquility and to relax in the hot tub after a day walking and exploring. I love the birdsong and the camellias and daffodils in flower. The lodges are spotless and well equipped and with a warm friendly welcome guaranteed I’m looking forward to booking for next year.

Just got home from the best week in Cornwall, staying at Rosehill. We stayed in Wheal Mary and it was beautiful, quiet and very relaxing. The lodge was lovely and comfortable with everything you could think of provided to make your stay hassle free, the hot tub was a great addition to come back to after a day of visiting the great villages and beaches around Porthtowan. 4 minutes walk into Porthtowan and the beach, pubs, local shop and fish & chip shop are well worth the visit, especially sat outside the pub watching the surfing. All staff at Rosehill were very friendly and made us feel very welcome from arrival to leaving. Will definitely return.

Stayed for two weeks for a family holiday. We stayed in Rose Cottage which was lovely and great vfm. Clean and tidy with loads of room for the family. Have stayed in places with more modern 'trendy' decor but loved the charm of this place. Very well equipped for self catering with everything you could wish for. Great location within easy walking distance of the beach at Porthtowan. Porthtowan is a small resort with a couple of pubs, shops and a clean, safe (RNLI manned) and blue flag award beach. Found the location great for visiting the local area and heading a little further afield. Change over day was Sunday (unusual, as tends to be Saturday) which meant travel to/from Cornwall was also a little less stressful. Kids rated this one of the better places we have stayed despite not having either a pool/hot tub (most places we stay have had one or other). Would be happy to consider booking here again in the future.

What a lovely place. My husband and I arrived a little earlier than expected but this was no problem at all as our lodge was ready. We had booked a 2 bedroom lodge. The lodge was immaculate and just perfect for our holiday needs. The site itself was very tranquil and would suit people looking for a quiet holiday away from all the hustle and bustle. Listening to the bird song whilst sitting in the hot tub at the lodge was so relaxing. We were left some basic food items in the lodge when we arrived which was an added touch I didn't expect but it was very welcome. The beds are comfortable and it was handy having two bathrooms (one ensuite and one main bathroom) there was even an outdoor shower to wash off the sand after a day at the beach. The owners have thought of everything you might need to enjoy your break away. There is a BBQ in the garden. I like the way each lodge is secluded with its own garden space aswell as your hot tub area. Some lodges are dog friendly so your pooch can enjoy a holiday too. All the staff are friendly and helpful. There are plenty of walks and things to do in the area all a short walk or drive away. I cannot rate this place highly enough. Please do not change a thing because it is simply a beautiful place.

This is our fourth visit to Rosehill Lodges. We first came here in 2017 and would have visited every year since then, if it were not for the Covid lockdown! Rosehill Lodges and Porthtowan has everything a family needs for a great holiday. Really comfortable lodges with a hot tub! The owners of Rosehill Lodges are really attentive and helpful and their new app has loads of helpful information. Porthtowan itself is small, but The Blue Bar is a wonderful place to have a plate of their dirty chips and a pint of Korev whilst watching the sun go down over the fantastic North Cornwall landscape.
