Detailed Reviews
Rosehill Lodges is located in serene woodland setting, but only a short 10mns walk to the beach in Porthowan.
The spacious eco lodges are amazing, extremely well appointed and uber clean. The exeptional level of cleanliness and COVID procedures have to be highlighted.
We enjoyed great customer care.
Lodges have a covered jacuzzi, a covered decked patio area, and a wood burner in the main living area. The covered main entrance provides an outdoor shower and a small shed for logs and to hang surfing suits.
High speed wifi is provided, included in the price, and there is a smart TV in the lounge to enjoy your favourite streaming apps during rainy days!
Lodges are pet friendly.

We have just returned from a week's stay in Wheal Clarence. From start to finish, everything was just brilliant. Easy on line booking, great communication and useful information emailed to us ahead of our arrival. We received a phone call whilst travelling to say our lodge was available for us to check in early if we were in the area, which was very thoughtful. The lodge itself was delightful, very private with lots of vegetation around it and parking right outside, shared with the other 3 lodges close by. Everything was clean, comfortable and modern. A portfolio containing instructions for operating some of the appliances was in the lounge, make sure you browse through it to find the easy walk down to the beach!! The kitchen had everything we needed including kitchen roll and a lovely welcome pack in the fridge to settle us in. This is a 3 bedroom lodge: the main bedroom had an ensuite with shower cubicle. The main bathroom had double sinks and a bath with electric shower over. Both had electric towel rails, easy to regulate the temperature of. Towels and toilet rolls were provided. Electric heaters were in each room, easy to regulate. We visited in June so had no need to use the lovely wood burner in the lounge. The wifi was good and the smart TV lets you access your entertainment accounts. There was no mobile phone signal at the lodge but it did have a phone in it. The hot tub on the private deck was fabulous! There were two benches outside the property, a bar-B-Q and two more chairs. Tealight candles were also provided. There was an outside shower for rinsing off the beach or before using the hot tub and all the recycling containers were located outside too, except the compost caddy in the kitchen.
This was our first trip away from home since 2019, pre-Covid but any concerns we had about hygiene or safety disappeared when we arrived as the lodge was spotless. On check out there were instructions to be followed for stripping the beds, opening all windows and doors to start airing the lodge before the cleaners prepare it for the next guests.
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and would love to return. I highly recommend Rosehill Lodges, thanks for a great holiday.

We stayed in Wheal Towan for a week, what an excellent stay we had! On our way into Cornwall we had a phone call to say our lodge was ready and upon arrival got given a sheet of information and was shown to our lodge. The one thing we were surprised by was how close to the main road it was as I don't think I read that on their website. We were stunned by the lodge itself, the standard of the interior, the hot tub and how pretty the view was from the veranda. I especially liked the little touches, chocolates on the bed, the bird feeder hanging from the tree - it has been lovely watching the visiting birds all week. The sofas are very comfy as is the bed. We opted to have ours as a superking, it is very unusual to find a bed this comfy in a holiday let! The bedroom also had nice, thick soft rugs either side of the bed to step out on. The lodge has some fab finishing touches loke this, obviously well planned and thought through. We sleep with the window open so the first couple of mornings I did get woken up as it is quite a busy main road but after this I just got used to it and it didn't bother me. The kitchen was stunning and was well equipped with everything you need. We did a bit of cooking, ordered takeaways in and ate out too. We found the location to be perfect as it was only half hour or so to Falmouth, the same to St Ives and it took around 45minutes for us to get to The Eden Project. The hot tub is incredible, there was only one day we didnt use it after having a busy day in Falmouth, some days we even used it twice. After seeing the other lodges we were very happy we were here as a lot of the other hot tubs were over looked in some way - be it from car parking bays or a window from another lodge. Ours wasn't at all, it was totally private. We had a perfectly relaxing holiday here, it is so quiet and lovely to watch and listen to the wildlife while sitting under the glass roof. We had one very small issue when we used the washer/dryer. The towels and clothes we washed & dried came out damp and with a fusty smell, I think the smell was maybe that it hadn't been used in a while. I emailed the office to see if we could get fresh towels and the next morning when we got up they were there on the table under the glass roof. We did want to use the log burner but having never used one before we didn't fully understand all of the instructions so didn't want to do anything wrong so we left it. I do have to say a big thank you to the staff. Our holiday was originally booked for 2020 but with everything that happened we had to move to this year which they did no problem. They also amended our booking a few times due to personal circumstances, nothing was a problem at all. Before leaving we already decided we would come back, not sure when yet but we definitley will! Thank you

Thankyou Gemma for your detailed and positive review! Wheal Towan is indeed a beautiful lodge to stay in, and we are so pleased to hear that you had everything you needed during your stay - and it's lovely to hear you enjoyed listening and seeing the birdlife and sleeping in the comfy bed! The site is perfectly situated as you mention, for day trips, and of course our local Blue Flag Beach. Glad to hear that we were swift in providing new towels to you at your request, and that you were happy with the booking process and amendments you needed to make were dealt with well. It sounds like the hot tub was a brilliant feature! we do pride ourselves on offering privacy to all our guests - in fact most of the hot tubs on site are not over looked, and for the few that are set on the front of our properties we always provide screens, so rest assured if you booked another lodge next time around, you would still have your privacy. Thanks again for taking the time to write us this review, we really appreciate it and look forward to seeing you again in the future, Rosehill Lodges

This is our first visit to Rosehill Lodges- the lodges are extremely well maintained and had absolutely everything you need for a great holiday (and I think they usually have more but a few things have been removed due to Covid). They were very clean on arrival and included loads of cleaning products.
Pros: beautiful setting, lovely lodge, hot tub and covered outdoor space was our favourite- the outdoor space was a sun trap in the afternoon, beach, shop and takeaway/restaurant walking distance, WiFi very good, grocery and food deliveries were very easy, outdoor shower to clean off sand after beach
Cons: there really were not many: close to road so some road noise during the day (but not much), lodges are set in woodland so inside is a bit dark
Also walk to beach closer to 10 mins than 5 mins but a very easy walk - make sure you walk past the garage rather than along the road

I was running in the ARC 50 race, and the headquarters of the race were at the Eco Park in Porthtowan, so wanted somewhere close by to stay. I contacted Rosehill and had some questions which were answered very quickly by Somoe, who was so helpful. I found out Rosehill is only 5 mins away from the Eco Park, so was the ideal place to stay.
I arrived at Rosehill, and was welcomed by Somoe, who showed me around the lodge. It was great, so much bigger than expected, very clean and well equipped.
I cannot begin to tell you how great it was being so close to the eco park. I could register for the race the Friday night, and then on Saturday morning there was no stress of travelling or worrying about being late.
After the race, it was just lovely to relax in the lodge. I certainly made use of the facilities, the hot tub was amazing!
My partner, daughter and two dogs came too, so for them this was an amazing little holiday, they loved the lodge.
If I run the Arc race in the future I would happily stay again at Rosehill Lodges.

Wow! thanks for your brilliant review and well done you for running this race, you are so brave for taking that on.. The Arc of Attrition race is held every January and centres around Porthtowan, so anyone looking to take part or just watch this amazing event, Rosehill is a really good place to base yourself. Really pleased you and your family enjoyed yourselves and i am sure the hot tub was a welcome relief after running the race. Thankyou for mentioning the warm welcome from Somoe at the start of your weekend break, we find our guests really appreciate a quick show around of the lodge at the start of their holiday and its a good opportunity for us to answer any questions that may arise. Really pleased you found the lodge "so clean and well equipped". Thanks again for your 5 star review and we certainly look forward to welcoming back to Rosehill next year. Best wishes from all the team.

We recently had the misfortune to have a house flood and needed alternative accommodation.
How pleased we were to choose Rosehill Lodges.
Large clean comfortable living space, with all facilities, cookers, fridge, freezer, tv, full size beds.
Secluded area no noise, 5 minute walk to the beach or 5 minute walk to a good cliff walk.
After a good day out or walk a Hot Tub on your outside decking waiting for you.
We stayed in this accommodation in October 1919 for 3 weeks then pleased to return again in February for another 3 weeks.
Definitely recommend

We booked our holiday at Rosehill back in December and were very relieved to find out we could still get away. It really felt like the perfect place for us, particularly in the current (Covid-19) circumstances. The owners weren't able to show us round in person but had left full instructions and were super responsive and friendly when we needed anything. The lodge itself was absolutely spotless, stylishly decorated, spacious and very well equipped. We felt at home straightaway. It felt secluded and private and the green setting is very beautiful, but it also wasn't too isolated with the beach so close and so many great places to visit just a short drive away.
It's extremely family friendly. Our 6 year old and 1 year old loved it and the toddler kit was much appreciated. We stayed in Wheal Lydia which felt wonderfully secluded, especially as the hot tub and garden area is not in the sightline of any of the other lodges. It was fantastic to be able to walk to the beach and not have to worry about car parks etc but be warned that there is no mobile reception in Porthtowan!
The highlight of the lodge was, of course, the hot tub, but Porthtowan is lovely and just a short walk away and never felt too crowded. It is a very unspoiled area in general. We had a great fish and chip takewaway from Seasmiths, a lovely, fun dinner at the Unicorn on the Beach and our kids enjoyed the beach cafe and Moomad of Zennor ice cream parlour. We also had a great pizza delivered from Real Pizza in Portreath. We also enjoyed Portreath beach, just a short drive away, with rockpools and caves to explore at low tide. Again it never felt too crowded.
Rosehill was the ideal Cornish break for us. We had a wonderful time and the hot tub under the glass roof meant that we could relax and have fun whatever the weather. I would have loved to have another week to explore the area and we would love to come back again.

What a lovely review! Thank you so much for taking the time to write a review. You have really touched upon some lovely aspects of your stay with us. We have gone to great lengths to ensure the safety of our customers during the recent pandemic situation by reducing contact points wherever possible and ensuring that our lodges are cleaned in accordance with government guidelines, as well as provide clear information and instructions so that although we cannot show you around your lodge in person, you have everything to hand so that any questions are answered. So pleased you loved the seclusion of the lodges, the hot tub and the toddler kit provided! Having the beach just a stroll away is definitely an amazing bonus of course. The local pubs, cafe and other shops mean you don't really need to go too far out of the village. We look forward to seeing you again for another stay!

What a lovely place. My husband and I arrived a little earlier than expected but this was no problem at all as our lodge was ready. We had booked a 2 bedroom lodge. The lodge was immaculate and just perfect for our holiday needs. The site itself was very tranquil and would suit people looking for a quiet holiday away from all the hustle and bustle. Listening to the bird song whilst sitting in the hot tub at the lodge was so relaxing.
We were left some basic food items in the lodge when we arrived which was an added touch I didn't expect but it was very welcome. The beds are comfortable and it was handy having two bathrooms (one ensuite and one main bathroom) there was even an outdoor shower to wash off the sand after a day at the beach. The owners have thought of everything you might need to enjoy your break away. There is a BBQ in the garden. I like the way each lodge is secluded with its own garden space aswell as your hot tub area. Some lodges are dog friendly so your pooch can enjoy a holiday too.
All the staff are friendly and helpful.
There are plenty of walks and things to do in the area all a short walk or drive away.
I cannot rate this place highly enough.
Please do not change a thing because it is simply a beautiful place.

We stayed in Wheal Towan with our two young grandsons. It was a lovely private setting, beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean.
The hot tub was really fun for the boys and we enjoyed relaxing and listening to the bird song.
It was lovely to be able to walk to the sea (about 10 minutes with children) and we were pleased to find a lovely, uncrowded and unspoilt beach.
We plan to go back without children sometime and enjoy some longer coastal walks.

Hi there, Yes you can walk to the beach with a double buggy, however this will be along beach road, which mostly does NOT have a pavement. However, if you stick to the side of the road you will be ok as this is what most people do. There is an alternative route which may be more suitable - please ask at reception on arrival and our staff will direct you. Hope this helps.
It’s 8 years ago. Things change, does it really matter. Get over it.
Apologies for the late reply.
Perhaps your question has already been answered but we do not allow pets.
There are seasonal beach restrictions for dogs which you may need to be aware of but this is only the actual beach, not the sandy dune area and bars(dogs on leads).
We hope this helps.
