You'll love Ixtapa. Exchanging money can be challenging. The resort will exchange your money once per day. There are a half dozen banks across the street and to the North but they will not all exchange - you might have to go to several before you find one that will exchange (I used the Santander). When at the pool, if you tip the servers (20 pesos is plenty) they will be very prompt. If you don't mind walking, take the bus to Ziwat. It's a lot cheaper than a taxi and its a nice experience. I have seen a lot of mixed reviews about the wifi - we were in a Premium Club room and had no problem at all with the wifi anywhere on the resort - including down around the pool. If you decide to walk to the marina, I recommend the sidewalk in front of the resort. The beach way is nice but it's a long walk on sand and the passage way from the beach to the marina can be a challenge to find. If you have any more specific questions, feel free to ask. We paid for the wifi for 2 weeks. First week was 50 Canadian and the second week was 40. You can use up to 3 devices so we split it with some friends.

Book the ocean view, well worth it. Heard it was noisy on the other side.

No palapa’s Or umbrellas but the palm trees provide lots of shade. Also the pool area with lots of umbrellas is right next to the beach so great ocean views and shade from that area as well. Check out some of the recent website photos of the resort.

On the envelope that you are given at the time of signing up for Premium Level, under food and beverages it states, "unlimited Premium drinks in all of our bars and restaurants". The Premium Lounge is located at the front entrance. It is very small compared to other Barcelo Premium Lounges.
