It’s located at a very unique spot accessible only during low tide We were the first guests since covid - they did not have any guests for a year Plus points It’s rustic, simple with ample sea breeze, in fact It was chilly at night. The rooms had only cold shower, solar heating and you charge your electrical gadgets by passing them to the service staff which was fine as we used our power banks to charge and gave them to the staff in the day Food was good. First night dinner consist of Grilled jack fish with vegetable salad and fries. Second night dinner was butter fish in curry sauce with potato with pasta. Portions were huge! Breakfast was simple eggs, bread from the village, apples, bananas, salad, tea and coffee There’s lots to do on your own Swimming in the sea, Village visits, fat bicycles on the beach, kayaking, on mangrove if you have your own equipment, else it’s nice to just chill here. Owners were friendly and helpful - bringing us to the village, providing info and tips on what to do in Gambia I appreciate they include the village for the services eg bread, food, cleaning of linen etc. We also went on a village walk with the locals, had fish with rice cooked by them. It was delicious. Pity they didn’t have oysters available for us at this time. They have limited wine and drink choices no beers given the lack of tourists during COVID so bring your own drinks. Overall it’s good value for money $50 euros average per night, good way to enjoy the rich biodiversity in the mangroves, vastness of sea and warmth of local villagers. …
We book ended our tour of Gambia with short stays at Jinack Lodge and it was PERFECT. Ams and the rest of the team did everything possible to ensure we had a great stay. The food was fantastic, fish right off the boat, freshly prepared when you're ready. The rooms were very comfortable but quite basic. This is the price you pay to stay on what feels like a deserted island though. I will definitely return and highly recommend you give it a go.
It feels like home our 11th year of visiting jinack lodge. Perfect relaxing holiday again. The beach was deserted when we went on it.the staff were brilliant as usual. Bannana pancakes were to die for. Thanks Binta and Faatu. Ourlodge had a tiled outdoor area at the front and back.sitting outdoors on a morning watching the parrots and the wildlife come so close to us was amazing. New years eve was spent with Bamba and other guests dancing, playing djembi drums chatting and watching the fireworks on the mainland.it was a delightful holiday. Our Thanks go to everyone at jinack
Our view the room was excellent very clean and comfortable bed. Food very good and our host. The journey to Jinack was an amazing experience through national park by jeep dugout boat to island donkey cart to lodge. Would definitely recommend
Jinack Island and Jinack lodge we will never forget. Beautifull location on an island with no traffic, nu rush, no stress. We stayed here 4 days in a nice and clean house. All perfect! I can recommend to visite Jinack and to enjoy your holiday surrounded by beautifull people and beautifull nature. Thanks to give us a great time Amadou, Bamba and Mohammed!
