Great low cost accommodation just inside the Masai Mara gates and very near a Masai Mara camp. There are some amazing game drives with a short drive, including all the big five and many more animals - particularly predators.
The tented accommodations are basic but adequate and clean and tidy. Guest security is well managed
Staff are attentive and friendly and food is basic but well prepared and tasty.
The bar staff, waiters and all employers are helpful and engaging.

We had a lovely stay in Sentrim Mara in June. The tents were comfortable but did tend to get cold at night. The food was not varied but hot and tasty. They always had guards patrolling the paths leading from the restaurant to the tents at night and that felt safe.
The only reason to give it one less star was the management policy of providing just one bottle of drinking water per room, with no option of refilling our bottles. The three of us were supposed to share that and buy whatever we needed beyond that at outrageous prices. But since we had already experienced this the hard way in the Sentrim Amboseli property, we were prepared and stocked up on enough water prior to reaching the lodge. The management really need to reconsider this policy - water is a basic need and not providing it leaves one with a sour taste.

It was “very wild” compared to other sentrim accommodation.
In the night time there is no light (only one plug in the room will work)
The staff is very friendly and helpful, buffet is continental. Room is very spacious, although the roof is made of coconut leaves, no water was linking even with the rain.

We stayed here for 4 nights. The front desk staff, specifically the woman up front was extremely rude. When we arrived they put us in a room with holes in The mosquito netting. We asked to change and the woman told us we could change the next day. When we returned early that day she lied to us and told us there was nothing open when we saw at least 10 open keys. She just didn’t want to change us. While we were talking to her she was making very judgmental faces at us and was extremely rude.

We also never had our room cleaned. The towels were wet when we got there and they didn’t give us new towels while we were there.

Wifi does not work!

The only good thing about this place was the nice chef who was very accommodating and friendly.

It was our first stop on safari, and we enjoyed it a lot. Our tent was quite big, and brilliantly thought out, we had plenty of space for everything. The bonfire they lit every night was quite nice and welcome. The food was OK, and the service was great, and prompt - even the odd power outage one night didn't stop or put a damper on the dinner service.
Well, that. I have the impression that those occur quite frequently. Don't let yourselves put out by that, but you absolutely need to have a flashlight with you. The one that could be fixed on your head is best, as you might need to have your hands free for packing.
It definitely added to my sleep quality to hear a lion roar at 5 am.

In Sentrim Masai Mara we found ourselves for the first time in a tent like this, which was a great experience. Since it is located inside of the park, electricity is on only a few hours a day (same as WiFi, which is only available in common areas). After dark, you will get escorted to your tent to ensure your safety against any wild animals and guards are always present near pathways.

There was a little confusion about card payment, as the front desk first informed us it will be possible, but later a different member of staff did not want to take cards. However, in the end it was accepted.

We stay at this lodge located right outside the Masai Mara for 3 nights. Most of their employees are local Maasai tribespeople. Our tent cabin was very nice with mosquito netting that wasn’t needed during our stay. Electricity is provided via generator from 5-9am and 6-10:30 pm so bring a flashlight for the nights. If you need to charge a device outside those times, you can leave it at the front desk where they always have electricity. Our only issue in the room was an inability to regulate the water temperature. It fluctuated between too hot and too cold with even the slightest change of position. The pool area is nice although we thought the water was too cold to linger in. Meals in the restaurant were pretty good with a number of Indian dishes served at each meal.

Dear Ksufan, Thank you for sharing your experience from your 3-night stay at our lodge just outside the Masai Mara. We're delighted to hear that you appreciated the local Maasai tribespeople who are a significant part of our team. Your feedback about the tent cabin with mosquito netting is valuable. We understand the importance of electricity and appreciate your suggestion of bringing a flashlight for the nights. Leaving devices at the front desk is a helpful solution. We apologize for the water temperature issue, and we will work on improving this aspect. It's good to know that you enjoyed the pool area, even though the water was a bit too cold to linger in. The variety of Indian dishes in the restaurant is something we take pride in, and we're glad you found the meals to be pretty good. We hope to have the pleasure of hosting you again in the future, and if you have any further comments or preferences for your next visit, please don't hesitate to reach out. Kind regards, Unit Manager Sentrim Mara

Sentrim Mara came through for me last minute and I loved how Bernard and Esther worked round the clock to ensure that I secured the booking. Upon arrival, I was mesmerized and the place looked so green and the forest setting like took my breath away. The tented room was lush, spacious and clean. The bed sheets were clean and very warm at night. The room was well equipped with a well-lit dressing table which doubled as my workstation for me to read my emails. The food was tasty and there was a great variety in their buffet option. The staff were warm and very accommodating. I loved the surrounding outdoor environment and I will definite come back to try my luck in spotting the resident leopard!

We spent two nights here as part of a weeks safari travelling around Kenya and it was our first experience of safari lodges. We arrived later than planned but the staff welcomed us with drinks and quickly got us sat down for lunch. The buffet had lots of options at all meal times and was good, there were always chefs on hand to prepare fresh options.
The tent accomodation was basic which was to be expected but it was clean and had all the essentials. The reason you stay here though is for its location within the Masai Mara and 5 minutes after leaving the lodge on our first game drive we had a magical encounter with a herd of elephants.
We didn't spend a huge amount of time at the accomodation but it provided everything we needed while we were there.

We truly loved being guests at this lodge. It is located inside the very own Maasai Mara park. Our house was a mix between a tree house and a tent, and one day we even saw a curious monkey at our doorstep!
The team is incredible as well. The whole kitchen team came out to the dining room, singing and dancing on my birthday. It was beautiful. Debra and Maggy, the girls who work at the reception, were very nice to us and even taught us the lyrics in Swahili of their happy birthday song (of which we became fans). Jamlic, our designated "waiter", was also always attentive to us and remembered our names from the start.
I would strongly recommend anyone staying at this lodge to talk to the team, get to know them more, their culture and individuality, because it really enriches your experience.
What can I say, we miss this place a lot! Hope to come back someday
