Fantastic wedding location. The whole camp was exclusively for the wedding. Stunning venue for a wedding. Everything that had been included I.e wedding food and breakfast was spot on. Yurt was fab and so were the toilet facilities. It really was a beautiful wedding.

We have recently returned from a fantastic holiday. The kids loved exploring the forest, we loved the yurt and the fire pit and the really clean toilet and shower block, and we all loved river swimming at nearby Dartmoor. Yurtcamp's cafe served great food and drink.

Highly recommended. Beautiful setting, comfortable beds, well-equipped yurts. The children very much enjoyed the firepits, and freedom to explore the woods. Also close to Dartmoor for scrambling on the tors.

I took my three children to the yurtcamp in Liverton, Devon, just to try something a bit different. We all had a great time! The yurt itself was high up in the woods and had everything you needed for your stay. There was a nice logburner with plenty of logs to keep warm. There was a gas stove to do some cooking, with all pots and utensils provided. The beds were very comfortable with plenty of blankets. The yurt was lit by solar lights and candles if needed, giving ample light. There was also a nice fire pit outside with a nice seating area. The woods are amazing with lots of interesting trails to follow. There used to be a narrow gauge railway running through the woods, and you can see tunnels and bridges around the woods. There is also a really good assault course with zip line to challenge you. The kids loved this. There is a building with toilets and showers which is kept in excellent condition. We enjoyed a meal in the woodland cafe, which was excellent, and the staff were very friendly. There is a play area and barn where you can enjoy some table tennis and table football. The camp itself is nicely situated to explore the surrounding attractions. All in all, we really enjoyed ourselves and will be back again next year, even though it's a six hour drive from Great Yarmouth! The owner, David, was also very friendly.

We had a brilliant experience at Yurtcamp which was the venue for our wedding. David was very responsive and worked really hard to ensure that the site was perfectly set up for a lovely wedding weekend. The site is wonderfully unique and tranquil. The yurts were comfortable, clean and have everything you would need. During the organisation of the event, the venue was very helpful and accommodating. We would highly recommend Yurtcamp as either a wedding venue or for a holiday.

I fully recommend this wonderful establishment for a family weekend wedding. Set in a beautiful woodland in Liverton, Devon. The owner David runs a warm, friendly and professional team. They work incredibly hard to provide a first class experience of yurt camping. If you have never camped, I would absolutely give this a go! The yurts were beautifully maintained and clean, with crisp white bedsheets and cosy bedding. David, the owner provides wood in the woodshed and it’s also fun to go gathering for kindling etc in the woodland. The yurt camps have everything you need for a comfortable stay. Kettle, wood stove, gas stove, pretty fairy lights and well functioning solar lights. There’s nothing better than going to bed looking up a the night sky, through the top of the yurt, and waking up to the morning light. The site is maintained beautifully and it’s easy to move around. Wheelbarrows are provided for luggage. The toilet blocks are warm, cosy and very clean and well maintained. David worked really hard to keep these all lovely and clean during the wedding. There is another toilet block by the barn. Huge thanks to owner, David and his team. They ensured we had the best ever family wedding weekend!

Booked a last minute 2 night break in a small village yurt with the option of 2 single beds. After reading reviews and info about the camp I was excited to go for a 2 night re-charge and unwind break away with my son. We were not Disappointed and loved absolutely everything about the place. We were greeted by the lovely resident cat Tommy and David the owner who was warm and welcoming giving us all the information we needed to settle in and even showed us to our yurt. I felt like I was in a fairytale, the camp setting was like something out of a storybook, with social campfire areas, solar lights hung around in the trees with the surrounding woodlands that were beautiful to explore and roam safely around. The barn area and cafe/bar (although it's a separately run business) just suited the site perfectly with its bohemian vibe and giant teepee all added to the sites charm. The yurt had everything needed and was comfortable, cosy and warm. Also the main shower block have the best on camp showers ive ever had, perfect warm temperature and very powerful. All areas are kept impeccably clean given its in a woodland area. Yes the camp is near the main road but set far enough back for it not to interfere with the wildlife and natural sounds of the woodlands. It really doesn't impact your stay at all and we found it ideal for if we needed to pop out and get any further supplies or if you wanted to explore the surrounding areas its an ideal location. This camp is a must stay location for those that want to sit back, relax and unwind, with the added option of joining in on the woodland cafes evening events that all finish at a respectful time for those on camp. I utterly love the place and will definitely book in again. Thankyou to David for this beautiful place.

My family and I stayed at Yurtcamp for a four night stay during half term, and had a brilliant time. We loved the yurt, the fire pit, the comfy beds, the onsite Woodland cafe, and the toilet and shower block, but most of all loved the beautiful woodland setting, and the huge energy of the owner David. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Thank you so much David, and the others that work at Yurtcamp. We will definitely be returning.

A mixed bag that needs a review as the website does not manage expectations if you are expecting, as promoted and sold as, luxury glamping. We left a day early because it wasn't luxury glamping - the only thing luxury was t he price: £405 for 2 nights! As soon as we used Booking.com we received a phone call from the owner asking us to cancel the booking and book direct. We understood not wanting to pay 3rd party fees but the the need/want to make/save £ was brought to our attention within minutes of booking and continued in a subtle but noticeable way throughout the stay. In checking our invoice, we realise that we had been charged extra for bedding and that this charge is mandatory. Two nights in a yurt was £385 so to then be charged £5 each for bedding. Luxury glamping where bedding is a luxury that you have to pay for? Odd. On arrival, the reception is a bit shabby and the owner "David" looked and sounded friendly but stressed: "bookings coming in at the last minute" and then "guests taking the handbook to the yurt home with them". Hence, we wanted David to show us to the yurt and leave quickly as we felt he was busy and we didn't want to add to any additional stresses. We regretted not asking David to show us how to keep the wood burner warm and how long the meagre basket of chopped logs would last as the answer was "not long" and so we all woke at 2am freezing cold, with just one log left and the bedding felt damp. The luxury glamping experience included waiting up all night (we were too cold to sleep) until first light and then going to the log shed to chop our own logs. The yurts so not have jute flooring or rugs so just bare floor which, even if June, felt like ice. The log shed had two saws and an axe in it but no eye protection or any locked door; children could easily wander into the wood shed and chopping your own logs is not for any adult who isn't strong, fit and practical. David had told us that he was always available to help but seemed so stressed that we didn't feel like we could ask and certainly not in the middle of the night. The yurt was well equipped with the basics for camping but everything was a bit cheap looking and well used. Think: practical as opposed to kitsch. The luxury glamping experience included using wheelbarrows to transport our luggage from the car park to the yurt and not using the wheelbarrows to transport any chopped logs. Chopped logs are heavy and bulky so I am not sure how you could take logs back to the yurt unless by hand and one by one. The experience of not sleeping due to the cold and the general effort of what we thought was luxury glamping but is just essentially, a yurt for camping left us exhausted. Add to that the sound of the A38 (the main road connecting Devon and Cornwall) meant that even the dawn chorus was ruined. The website is clear that road noise is clearly audible but it became oppressive when added to the other stressors and we felt increasingly frazzled. The location of the site is great for exploring Devon but is essentially on the edge of a large industrial estate. It is not acoustically tranquil and if you come from a rural environment or expect to benefit from the sounds of the adjacent woodland, then would (like us) increasingly find hearing every singular vehicle (at night in particular) roar along the A38 agitating. Once noticed, it then became difficult to ignore: day and night. The site was very clean and the toilets and showers were deep cleaned once everyday. The on site cafe seemed popular but we didn't patronise it as didn't stay long enough. We have glamped in yurts before and so for the experience to reflect the price, the yurts would need to be updated and so would any shared washing up/kitchen facilities, and the children's play area equipment. The comfort of the guests from start to finish could also do with a review if this site is to be promoted as a luxury camping experience. Ditch charging guests for bedding, this is so basic and reflects a general vibe that the business model for the site is based on doing as little as possible for maximum return. Some may want to rough it a bit more than others and even pay for that authentic experience; I doubt though they would consider this a luxury? It might be better if David halved the price of the yurts as this would manage everyone's expectations and stress levels better.

Responded 7 Jun 2022
Dear L -Rushm, thank you for taking so much time to write your review. In the interest of fair play, I wish to make the following comments. You keep referring to "luxury glamping" but nowhere on our website or on our Booking.com description is the phrase "luxury glamping" used. There is one mention of "luxury tent" on the Booking.com description, which I have today asked to be deleted, and replaced with yurt, as I don't want anybody to be disappointed. Our minimum stay length is two nights, and unsurprisingly pro rata a two night stay is our most expensive rate eg a four night stay is about 30% less per night, and a seven night stay almost half the price. The price you paid was for a large yurt, which has a king size bed and 3 single beds and room for an additional folding bed. The only addition to the price of the yurt is linen charged at £5 per person per stay. This is made crystal clear, wherever you book. For some reason, known only to them, Booking.com whilst charging their usual hefty commission on it, force us to ask the guest for payment of the linen. The floors of our yurts are made of wood, so I have no idea how they could feel like ”ice” in early June. The log burners are very efficient at keeping our yurts warm, even in wintertime, if used as per the simple instructions in the guest information book. If the night time was anything like your description, it would be impossible for us to have been in business for 14 years, with guests staying at all times of the year. Sorry that you think reception is “shabby,” but this is feedback that I will not be sharing with the decorator that repainted the walls and ceiling less than a month ago. Logs are carried from the wood shed to guests' yurts using the supplied log basket, and most people seem to get this. I am always happy to help with chopping logs. I have no idea where the " large industrial site" that we're "on the edge of" is supposed to be. We make it perfectly clear on our website that traffic noise is likely to be an issue for those seeking perfect peace, and the vast majority of our guests report no problems at all. I am sorry that your stay was not to your liking, but we work very hard to give our guests the best experience that we can, and think your intentionally offensive comment regarding our "business model" is ridiculous. David and the Yurtcamp team

Had a lovely stay here, the campsite itself is a decent size, I believe it's 40 acres in total. The yurts are well equipped with comfortable beds and ours offered plenty of space for a family of 5. The toilets and showers are both clean and offer endless powerful hot water. The location is also very good and has plenty to offer. There are a few points to consider but didn't affect our stay; There is table football and table tennis, these obviously get a hard time from the children staying at the camp and could do with being updated. There is an adventure park which looks like it was probably built some time ago and is in need of refurbishment now. The onsite cafe is particularly good, the portions are very generous and the coffee is also very good. We had a fire every evening and sat around the park bench immediately outside our yurt, we felt comfortable enough ntomlet our children wonder on site. David, the owner, is almost always around and is happy to stop and chat and is particularly concerned about his guests having a good time. Overall a friendly place to stay.
