My first stay on this holiday park but it certainly won't be my last!. This park is a great place to come if you want a peaceful time, The location is lovely, the accommodation is lovely, the staff are lovely. Everything about this place is really... lovely!
A gem of a place, we had a fantastic stay everything was spot on, the staff are very friendly the site is immaculate, caravan was spot on, couldn't ask for anything better. I can see why people come back year after year. We definitely will return. brilliant views and nice walks.
Stayed for a week over my birthday in No 14 on the lower park. Trollies are provided to move your luggage from the car to your caravan. Having stayed many times before, the site is lovely and peaceful. The lower park looks out over the harbour and the grounds are well kept. The village of St Helens is a short walk from Old Mill and has a few restaurants and a shop should you have forgotten any essentials. It goes without saying, we will see you again!
It is no wonder that this caravan park ha a lot of return visitors. It is a very well laid out site, with good spacing between accommodations and with views over the harbour and a short walk to the beach. Parking is easy and secure. Our caravan was comfortable and clean and well provided with all that you would need. We hired the gas barbecue, cooked indoors and had take out from nearby Indian and Fish and Chip shops. Tesco is a short drive away so it is easy to stock up on supplies. Staff are very friendly and available when you need them without ever being intrusive. St Helens is a good base for exploring the island but the big plus here, for a family holiday with young children, is how close to the beach you are, just a short but interesting walk along the causeway and through the dunes. You can park at the beach ( £7.50 for the day) but spaces are limited and walking is part of the adventure. Despite being a family location, the Old Mill Park is quiet and peaceful. We had a most relaxing week.…
We come to old mill caravan site every year. It's the most clean, quite and beautiful site. The family that own the site treat you like family. Nothing is too much trouble. Love love this place and long may we be healthy enough to keep coming year after year. Xx
We visit every year, twice if we can and stay in either the top park - caravan 20-23 as you are guaranteed a view over looking Bembridge harbour and the Duver. Or we stay down the bottom park in any of he front row as our daughter loves to come out in the morning and feed the ducks from her balcony. Hugh, Rory and Matt have this place just right for a calming an tranquil holiday. There are some beautiful walks right on your doorstep. You can even park the car up and not see it again until you get home. I have been visiting the site for the last 32 years, now bringing my daughter to experience the same holidays i had growing up. The caravans are beautiful furnished and have every kitchen utensil you could think off and are very well stocked. They are always immaculate and warm when arriving in the winter - with tea and coffee there to welcome you. The wifi is intermittent, but if you are going to enjoy a break, i personally don't feel this is a bad thing. I would recommend walking across the Duver and visiting Baywatch cafe on the beach. The cafe looks a little run down as it has been battered by the sea but the hot chocolates and cakes are delicious. D not expect the friendliest of welcomes though, as the owner very clearly knows that he has the market for customers along this beach and his teams arrogance is testament to this. We visit the cafe to get a nice warm drink as a takeaway and then sit on the beach. Another place to visit is Robin Hill, our little girl loves it here and enjoys all of the rides and attractions. I would recommend taking a picnic as it can be a pricey day out otherwise. We always visit Ventor and have a coffee on the front and a walk as it is beautiful. The spyglass in has delicious pub food and we always visit. They are fabulous with children and welcome four legged friends. If you are looking for a tranquil break and a chance to relax and spend time as a family or a couple the book Old Mill ASAP. You will not be disappointed.…
Beautiful park and holiday home and amazing customer service. I could not believe the standard of our holiday home. Definitely the best I have ever stayed in and one that I would be happy to live in on a permanent basis. Having asked at reception if they knew if any attractions had free wheelchair hire I was offered use of a wheelchair for the week that we were staying. This certainly took a huge amount of pressure off me and allowed us much greater freedom to explore the island. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble and advice and personal recommendation was plentiful. Would certainly return here if I returned to the island and definitely recommend.
We stayed here last week in a two bedroom Lodge with friends. The site is immaculate, grass cut neatly and nothing was too much bother for the staff. The lodge was no 17 and it had a beautiful view over Bembridge Harbour. Again the lodge was very clean and obviously well looked after. Lots to do in the area including some lovely eating places. There is a very interesting old book shop in the village, well worth a browse. If you’re looking for a peaceful break then this is the place to go!
We loved staying at the Old Mill Caravan Park. The caravan had everything we needed including a king size bed and en suite and the tea and coffee sachets were a lovely touch. We had plenty of room in the caravan and there were plenty of hooks and cupboards. Best of all was the view from our caravan looking over Bembridge Harbour. It’s a great spot for families within walking distance of st Helens beach which is great for inflatables as it’s less windy than other beaches. We will definitely return here!
Loved it here! Tucked away with beautiful views and so peaceful even in the summer holidays. We stayed in number 32 the 6 berth woodside which had a very well equipped kitchen, modern and was clean throughout. We all had a fantastic week great play areas and views. Access to the duver along the mill pond path was a bonus although not for the mobility impaired. We also spent alot of fun time in the games room 50p's at the ready. The park is on a hill so it does have some steep inclines to be aware of. We accessed shanklin, ryde, sandown and many other attractions easily from st helens but was glad that we could return to the peace and tranquility of Old Mill at the end of the day with the stunning views over Bembridge harbour. We are hoping to return next year.
