Just returned from a long weekend at this resort. We stayed in lodge number 18 (superior lodge with hot tub). This was EXCELLENT value considering how luxurious the lodge was and all utensils/cooking pots/plates etc all included plus some small washing up/dishwasher stuff too. Top tip is to stop off at a supermarket on route to the lodge to stock up on stuff as there isn’t an on-site shop etc..

The site itself is very quiet and everyone is very respectable of noise etc and I slept like a log every night. I can’t say we saw many children around and to be honest I was glad for it as we do like our peace and quiet! Ha ha

We did notice a few things missing from the lodge such as little bedroom lamps and a tv in the main bedroom but this did not cause us any problems as we spent most of our time in the lounge area which was huge with a lovely electric fireplace!! I assume things have been removed due to Covid to minimise how much cleaning needs to be done.

A car is absolutely necessary to stay here as it is not walkable to anything to be honest but again did not bother us at all as we were happy to get out and explore.

My only small niggle (and I had to dig deep!!) was the very early check out time and quite late check in time. (Check out 10am and check in 4pm) this feels quite late/early to us but given it’s our first lodge break I am not sure if this is standard procedure or due to Covid. We are used to holidays abroad where checkouts are normally much later or flexible depending on travel plans.

This trip was booked due to 4 different foreign holidays being cancelled and we wouldn’t hesitate to return in the future despite us being sun worshippers and normally abroad :-)

Thank you and well done to St. Helens Resort - we both said if money was no object we would buy one of the hot tub lodges in a heartbeat ha ha!!!

We hired a two bedroom loge with upstairs terrace , which actually had a sea view! and Hot Tub.
We decided to book the very Best that we could afford to ensure we had a problem free Staycation.
We were impressed right from booking to the end of our holiday.

The lodge was comfortable, clean and luxurious, even with all the cushions and throws removed.
The crockery and cutlery was sealed clean in the dishwasher.
I set to work with ensuring the lodge was coved-19 safe for my family with sanitising the door handles, light switches, worktops and fogged the lodge with anti-bac spray.
If I was making an observation for future Covid-19 cleaning procedures, I would suggest wrapping the remote control after it had been sanitised as reassurance to the next Guests.

We booked the private slots for the outdoor pool ahead of our stay, as this was the main criteria for our 12 year old Daughter to swim after lockdown.
The pool was clean, warm and excellently managed with cleaning procedures in place between guests.

We made good use of all the local Beaches, walking and driving, in particular we absolutely loved Ryde Beach.
After watching the Hovercrafts zip across the Solent It’s now on our bucket list now to book a hovercraft trip!

We’d definitely return again, we left feeling refreshed and rejuvenated!

We were owners in 2018, but at then at the end of 2018 all owners on the site were asked to move off the site to allow redevelopment. The site was well overdue redevelopment and it didn’t really come as a shock – but it was still a disappointment; we’d hoped for at least one more year.

2 Years later, we’ve just bought a caravan at the same site. Why would we do that?? The reasons are pretty compelling.

Location
We love St Helens & Bembridge end of the island. There’s lots of vans in many locations on the island, but we like that it’s:

Walking distance from Bembridge Harbour (especially Brading Haven Yacht Club, The Best Dressed Crab & Baywatch on the Beach)
A small park – 92 Vans total, not crammed in, nice and secluded with a good bit of greenery.
A quiet park – Some of parks have a lot of laid on entertainment. We don’t need this – we like peace and quiet and doing our own thing.
Walking distance from Bembridge beach
A short walk from the green at St Helens

Cost
It’s important to consider not just the upfront cost, but also the ongoing costs.

Comparing costs against other nearby parks, pitch fees fees at St Helens are very competitive.

On a like for like basis, the van costs are not dissimilar – but over 10 years, other sites worked out in excess of £25,000 more expensive for an inferior pitch.

The Van
We liked the van – a Regal Seascape. Vans have come on a long way over the last few years, and Aria were offering a central heated, plumbed in (gas, water & electrics) van also with double glazing. It’s a great van, well made and has a great feel to it.

The Agreement
You read horror stories from some of the pitch agreements. The one we signed was reasonable and fair! No complaints at all.

Summary
The proof is in the pudding – since we bought, we’ve not had a hint of buyer’s regret. We look forward to every visit and can’t wait until we’re back down there again. Thank you Aria for reinvigorating the site and bringing it back to life again.

We booked this holiday a year before so we had a reasonable price for our caravan which also had a hot tub. On arrival our caravan was clean and all cutlery/ crockery was placed in the dishwasher and been hot washed . Our hot tub was checked everyday by a very pleasant man and we enjoyed the hot tub and used it every day. Our only gripe was the signal both wifi and tv which constantly fluctuated leaving my partner frustrated as he missed a few goals during the football due to the tv pixelation. All in all we really enjoyed our week even though the weather at times was typically British.

We stayed in premium lodge with hot tub and roof top seating area. Accommodation was spotlessly clean and comfortable and would highly recommend this resort for couples looking for a quite relaxing environment. The only criticism is that the mattress in the main bedroom wasn’t very comfortable as was to soft and could do with more towels. There is a local shop/post office and a pub within 3 minute walk from site which was nice and convenient.

we staying in a superior lodge here, with a hot tub. the accommodation was fantastic and the lodge had everything you could need for your visit, there is no catering establishment on site but this didn't bother us, we made the most of large kitchen and cooked for ourselves. a very pleasant chap turned up every morning to check and clean the hot tub, there is a heated outdoor swimming pool on site, due to covid you have to book a time slot, this was great because it meant you have the pool to yourself for the time given.
there was a children's playground on site but this was closed off but a short 5 minute walk into the village and there was a children's park there.
would highly recommend

I’m afraid you can’t add a hot tub and call it luxury accommodation.

Having been to a local holiday park for many years, Covid made us want to splash out because so many activities had been cancelled this year. A lodge with a hot tub sounded just the thing.

A small park with outdoor pool but no other amenities. We preferred this as it became a more adult friendly complex without screaming kids every where. Local pub, restaurants and shop are all very nearby and of great value and quality.

You can only walk to the beach if you want to brave the hill on the way back but a 2 min car ride is much easier.

The communal area is well thought out, very nicely decorated and has plenty of space for several adults.

There are a few pointers that I think would give this a 10/10 and warrant the cost and the term ‘luxury’.

There isn’t great WiFi, in this day and age thats the same as having heating and hot water- everyone expects it. There was no access to Netflix or other apps. I do understand that previous guests not logging out of accounts had caused issues, but with limited freeview and being restricted to laptops or tablets- a simple sign asking guests to sign out and asking staff as part of check out process to sign out guests would be much nicer than cramming to watch a movie around a small screen.

Last but not least whilst I loved the walk-in wardrobe, it hasn’t been clearly thought out as there is not a socket in there for a hair dryer, this meant we had to buy our own extension lead. I understand certain amenities are available from reception, perhaps if this is one there should be a list to make guests aware.

Covid was dealt with very well and we felt safe and secure at this difficult time.

Over all we had a really lovely time and hope to be back next year. Well done team, just a few pointers to make it 10/10!

Spent 4 nights here which was perfect enough time to explore the island and have some beach fun. I would strongly recommend booking highly rated restaurants as far in advance as possible if going in peak season otherwise you really are left with the rubbish restaurants and chippy's. Our recommendations are definitely The Smoking Lobster (about 15 minute drive but parking is awkward) and The Duck. The island has a happy feel all round. An absolute highlight was Osborne House and The Needles trip on the cable car (boat trip was also worth doing). The caravan was very compact but good fun. It was cool at night even though we had warm weather by day. The outdoor pool was used once, it does get very busy late afternoon and they definitely need more sun loungers around the pool but its nice and warm. Having an outdoor toilet near the pool would be good - shocking how many people never got out all afternoon to pee....
The main con is that the beds are a bit too short and narrow for average sized adult but I still had an adequate sleep. The grounds are very well maintained and it was very clean. Staff are lovely and helpful and our neighbours were great! A lovely holiday all round.

We stayed in a 3 bed caravan luxury so plenty of room for x3 friends to have own rooms.
Pleasant deck, essential kitchen equipment and nice welcome pack with cleaning materials.
Our caravan had a shower room and a separate toilet and sink which was good and appreciated having the unexpected dishwasher too.
Bed linen and towels were nice quality.
The on site swimming pool was a superb sunny location -apparently when no life guard is available we were advised we could make use of another away resort one - which was fab.
During our 4 day visit to the IOW we went to Osborne house,Carisbrooke castle, The garlic farm, St Helen’s bay, Shanklin, Ventnor, Needles/Allum bay to name a few!

We stayed in a superior 3 bedroom caravan with hot tub which we had booked earlier this year; for the price we paid at that time it was excellent value for money.
The caravan was modern and very clean and it had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hot tub was a lovely addition and we enjoyed using it at the end of the day in all weathers. It was checked daily and was in good working order.
All of the staff that we met during our stay were friendly and helpful.
The pitches are spacious and well-maintained. Although the entrance to the site initially appears to be in a back street of the village, don't be put off as the location is great for exploring the coastline of the east of the Isle of Wight. It took us 5 minutes to cycle to the beach and harbour - a bit longer to return up the hill.
It is a quiet site but with easy access to the local pub and village shop. This isn't the site to go to if you want entertainment and kids' clubs.
This was our first visit to the island and we definitely plan to return. We would look forward to staying at St Helen's Coastal Resort again.

You may have a BBQ as long as it's not placed on the decking. Either on the grass if you have a BBQ with legs or on the path if it's a throwaway BBQ
