Eco bed and breakfast with excellent green credentials. The bed and breakfast is part of the old primary school which has been recently restored and renovated to include sustainable renewable technologies. We have five en-suite rooms, four doubles and one single. We have on-site free parking and free wi-fi throughout the building. Breakfast is sourced locally and cooked to order by an experienced chef. We are located in a rural area which is very quiet and peaceful. There are many local pubs and restaurants in the nearby villages. Many guests use us as a base to explore the breath taking scenery on our doorstep. We are approx. 20 minutes to the nearest beach and the local town of carmarthen, which is great for shopping is 12 miles away.

I was in the area for just one night on a work trip and unexpectedly needed a room for the night and was really pleased with this lovely B & B. I was a little nervous as I was travelling alone. I had the rather lovely garden room on the ground floor which was beautifully decorated, had an en-suite, was roomy with a very comfy bed - I slept like a log! I felt completely safe the room has french doors on to a patio garden area, which are veery strong and sturdy - very secure. The ensuite has a gorgeous large newly fitted shower cubicle, is well lit, light and airy. Breakfast was amazing and Jayne was so lovely and friendly, checking I was comfortable and happy with my stay. I would highly recommend this lovely quiet spot, and hope to stay there again.

A bit of a disappointment. Our room was extremely small; we hardly had room for 2 open suitcases. The B&B is located in what felt like the middle of nowhere with virtually no decent restaurants around. It is self-check in and we saw no hosts at all other than the woman who made our breakfast. I assume she is one of the owners but since she didn’t chat to us at all, I’m not quite sure. While there is nothing crazy wrong with this place, I would not put it at the top of my list and, in hindsight, we wish we had driven a little farther to find a better accommodation.

This was a great choice of B & B, Our hosts were very friendly, the room spotlessly clean and to top it off the delicious breakfast cooked to order. What more could you want? No hesitation in recommending.

Our son has recently relocated to Pencader and we were planning a visit. Having researched a 5-mile radius around where he lives, we chose the School House B&B. The building itself is not only promoting sustainable renewal technologies but is stunning; it has been sympathetically converted into a home and B&B. Lots of historical features have been kept. The host/owners were very warm and welcoming. We were shown to Room 1 which was newly refurbished and opened onto a small courtyard where you could sit and enjoy the peace and quiet. The room and ensuite were immaculately clean and very nicely presented with crisp linen/towels. Breakfast was a delight. Good quality ingredients and freshly cooked. Without question this was a great find and perfect for all future visits to Pencader.

This was much more than a B&B - the dinner option on arrival and the bar were great bonuses on top of a good room, really helpful and friendly service and a fantastic breakfast. Will definitely go back again.

Enjoyable evening in a nicely renovated school house. Well thought out, with the added benefit of a well stocked bar for guests only where you can sit and reminisce on the day gone and plan the next with a nice glass of what you like
