This is a beautifully located seaside desert resort somewhat remote and serene. At present time it is most practical to fly to Phoenix, rent a car and drive to the resort some 10 miles outside the town of Puerto Penasco, the Rocky Point. The parking is free. I waited a few days to settle my feelings and digest my impression...

The drive from Phoenix to Puerto Penasco kept us wondering what the resort would be like. We were pleasantly surprised and immediately fell in love with the resort and its location on the Sea of Cortez. Although the rooms show their age, they are clean and well equipped. We took advantage of the meal plan which was reasonably-priced for the...

We've driven to Puerto Penasco 3 times through Phoenix prior to this trip and stopped visiting because we "heard" it had become unsafe. (Last trip was in 2009). And post election I wasn't sure how they would welcome us. It is my husband, me and our 2 teenaged daughters. I did a lot of research and found a few recent...

We are Grand Bliss owners at the Mayan Palace Vidanta Resorts. This was our first time to Puerto Penasco. We flew to Phoenix and then drove to PP. Rental cars: We had reserved an SUV because we had brought all our kiting gear for two of us, but SUV's are targeted by thieves, so we had to switch to a...

We arrived to the secluded Mayan Palace (MP) in Rocky Point and it immediately was in awe. It's perfectly situated...it's a treasure in the dessert by the sea! It's beautiful from top to bottom, clean, with all amenities desired, inviting pools and a staff that is willing to go above and beyond to make your vacation memorable! Let me tell...

My wife and I, along with another couple, just returned from a two week stay at the Grand Mayan in Puerto Penasco, or Rocky Point as known to many. We had a two bedroom unit in the Grand Mayan building on the fifth floor, overlooking the ocean. The check in was super smooth and we got into our room within...

This was our first time at the Mayan Palace and I hope it's not our last. Absolutely enjoyed our stay there. Everyone was very friendly. The Manager, Carlos took care of a little problem with check-in and we were so pleased with his assistance. Concierge Daniela was a joy to meet and answered our many questions!! We were sad when...

The resort was better than I expected after having read all of the reviews. The resort activities- daily aqua aerobics 12pm, daily 21 black jack, daily Mexican bingo, daily mixology (where you sit at the bar & learn how to make drinks & taste them afterwards...all for free) were great. Mosiah, Edwin & Jorge..activities personnel were helpful, happy & fun....
