We love this place. This is one of the only places on the coast where the my 8 year olds can swim without dangerous currents. The staff is lovely and the chef Coco is amazing. After many visits, we keep returning.

Amazing staff, delicious food, amazing comfort, beautiful place. Its the best hidden gem in the Oaxaca area! I love these people and the place :) The cabinas are very simple, but perfect. The beach is lovely, and there is lots to do!

Rebecca, Thanks for the great review! It's always gratifying when our guests have the experience they dreamed of. If there were one "wish" you could have about Hotel Bahia de la Luna.....what would that be? Cheers! Jorge/Operating Partner

This is a special place. If you want to get almost absolute peace and a quiet lovely beach away from crowds in the middle of the nature, that's it! Of course this is not a luxury resort, but it's not about it when you choose it. You choose it for the quietness of the place, the involvement with the nature...

The hotel is a bit remote and down a rough road--perfect for us as we wanted some quiet and seclusion and you don't get that next to a paved highway. Comfortable rooms, good beds, excellent food, cold beverages, friendly staff. Just perfection and cheap. I do wish they could make the ocean a little more quiet at night and remove...

The beach is incredible, the ocean amazing however, the hotel service needs lots of improvement, For starters, you cannot get all the way to the hotel by car, we took a taxi from the airport and there is a point in the road that is only of mud and the taxi could not go further so we had to walk...

Gaaabby, All reviews, both positive and negative are valuable both to us and to future visitors. I'd like to address several of the points you've made. There are two roads to the hotel; one bad; one awful. That is why we advised your group to use our hotel sponsored taxi drivers instead of the airport ones. Ours would take you...

I came here to kick off a multi-week vacation in Oaxaca with five much needed, serious decompression days on a to die for beach. The location was postcard worthy, lots of sunsets and moon rises ... crystal blue water and clean to boot. The food was also incredible, and we ate every night shoe-less on the beach, under the stars....

We had a wonderful time at Bahia de la Luna celebrating a special birthday with a group of close friends. We were very well taken care of and couldn't have been happier anywhere else. The privacy of the little bay is unparalleled along this stretch of the Oaxaca coast and although the drive in is daunting, do not be deterred....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Nestled among the rugged cliffs and dense tropical vegetation of Oaxaca’s Pacific coast is La Boquilla, a protected cove of white sand and still turquoise water. Virtually untouched by development, this pristine and secluded location – where osprey circle lazily over a silent beach – is the perfect setting for vacationers seeking a truly unique retreat experience.Protected by small islets and tall headlands the crescent beach provides a perfect setting for those vacationers seeking a truly unique retreat, for those who would rather hear the whisper of a gentle fan than the whirr of the air conditioner; for those who prefer snorkel and a sea kayak to the roar of a jet ski; for those who wish to practise yoga and sunrise meditation in an eco-sensitive environment and yet appreciate the best of fresh, natural, local foods & international wines in an exquisite water side setting, this may be the place you have always sought... ... more   less
