An exceptional place for a relaxing holiday. A peaceful spot in the heart of the beautiful South Downs; immaculate house with every comfort; and a warm welcome from Margaret, who not only sorted us out with our evening meals in the excellent neighbourhood pubs but also gave us helpful guidance about places to visit. She is also a super cook...

I have to thank my partner Jan for finding this lovely place, and what a find it was. We were made welcome straight away with tea and homemade cake in the garden and as a keen gardener I was taken on a little tour of Margaret's magnificent garden. Then to our room (overlooking the garden) and having had a busy...

How lucky we were to find Netherwood Lodge in this quiet corner of East Sussex. Margaret Clarke was the very welcoming, informative and friendly hostess of this excellent B&B and had considered everything possible to make our stay relaxed and comfortable. We were welcomed on our arrival with a pot of tea and homemade cake, sitting in the pretty, well-tended...

Peaceful and relaxing; an ideal spot to unwind for a few days and recharge. Margaret takes the utmost care with all aspects of her B&B & is a very warm & welcoming hostess. Her rooms are clean, tidy & well presented with an amazing array of added extras. I particularly liked the inclusion of a sticky clothes roller - so...

We stayed at Netherwood Lodge for two nights in July. The house is tucked away in a rural lane but is easily found in this lovely part of the country. We arrived later than anticipated and were provided with a very welcome cup of tea and home-made cake. We had a double room which overlooked the lovely garden and there...

What a wonderful week we recently spent, at this delightful cottage in East Sussex. Margaret Clarke, the warm, welcoming hostess, was a delight and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts were delicious, bed supremely comfortable and the garden an absolute treat. It was superb just sitting on a garden seat, just drinking it all in. Really magnificent! The local...

What a lovely B&B ! Margaret was so nice and accommodating, I really felt right at home. the garden was stunning, I just didn't want to go in and was happy to sit outside and enjoy the beauty of the flowers. It's probably the most beautiful garden I have ever seen. The room was big and squeaky clean, the bed...

A wonderful friendly hostess Mrs Clarke (Margaret) gave us a very warm welcome, comfortable beds and bedroom with attention to every detail and excellent breakfasts with lots of local produce and home-made jams and marmalades. The garden is a peaceful haven after strenuous days visiting some of the many National Trust properties in the area. Margaret is clearly very interested...

Superbly furnished and comfortable rooms, the real attraction of this B and B is the warm welcome from Margaret and her beautiful garden. We were able to do a long walk in the surrounding countryside and then enjoy a meal out at one of the local pubs recommended by Margaret. Highly recommended!
