Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

It looks a lot nicer in the pictures but when you get your room, they are very small and had a bad smell. The bathroom wasn't the best either and it smelled bad. besides that is in a great area near restaurants and clubs.

This hotel is conveniently located in front of the seashore, but doesn't have beach access. The hotel is clean and even though the furniture could be renovated, the place is overall clean and well maintained. Try the restaurant for buffets.

Hotel had a very good presentation online with the casino. Reception could be a little more courteous to customers. Didn't have warm water for the shower for a day. Windows were very dirty and had a hard time opening it. The buffet was very expensive and no very good at all. Will not recommend this place.

I loved this hotel. Situated in the trendy Boca del Rio area the Lois is just across from the sea. Through my window I could see the lighthouse that welcomes ships to this important Mexican port. The hotel has a restaurant, a pool with breathtaking views, a fitness center with sauna and even a squash court. Lois...I'll be back!!!

I been in this hotel about 10 years ago and it was one of the best in the port of Veracruz , is located in a spectacular seafront location on the cost, it has an excellent big swimming pool, i really enjoy the sun and view being in the pool, Gym needs renovation too, you can ask for sauna bath if you like it, if you're sensitive nose the hotel has its characteristically wet smell, the carpet needs to be renovated and the kitchen needs to improve, the price is worth it for a business few nights, placed in a very good area surrounded by restaurants, from there you can easily move to any part of the city .

The staff at Hotel Lois were great. We had driven overnight and they gladly let us check in early. The food in the restaurant was good and well priced. The rooms were nice and the ocean view was great from the floor. I wouldn't call the room luxurious but it had everything you needed. If I ever need to stay in a hotel in Veracruz I will surely look here first.

This hotel is average to below, the pictures show a much nicer hotel than it really is. It does not show the paint peeling off the walls, scuff marks, dirty hallways, dim lighting, etc. There is not a beach front, you have to walk to one that is not great. You may have great water views if you are high up, and location might be convenient, but that is it.

Got to the hotel a little early a storm had just left town ant the place was abandon. The very good looking young lady at the front desk had no time for us. would not call our travel agent to confirm our reservations and just left me there trying to figure it out.... in the rain. Moved on to another hotel Delfines and got rooms. after we were settled in we were called and told our room were ready at Lois! I said no thanks we took care of it to witch she said well you will not get a refund, so we cut a deal with the GREAT people at Delfines and went back to Lois.

Our stay at this hotel was one that was planned 1 day before. I stayed at this hotel with two small kids. My overall experience was good. The facade and lobby is very nice. The only problem was that the hotels sits on a very busy street. Their is construction going on next door. Was not bothered by it at all. We had our rooms facing the port, the view was beautiful. The rooms are a little dated. The beds are nice and firm if that was you like. The bathroom had a great big soaking tub. The maid service do work a little slow. They usually didn't show up til around 3pm, twice we arrived back and they were just finishing up. The pool was nice and deep all around. There are about two kiddie pools. They were not very clean. The other pool was cleaned every morning. The view from the pool deck was beautiful. Overall, I would try to look for another hotel closer to the center. This hotel was far away from downtown. Their was a couple of lounges across from the street did not go but looked like they were busy.
