We stopped here at the end of a long day driving back from Spain. The setting was idyllic. We had a beautiful lakeview room and a comfortable bed. Wifi was just in the office. The restaurant wasn't open, so we had to drive 10 minutes into Pleugueneuc. If you want to stay and will require dinner, make arrangements in advance....

Last year we spent 10 wonderful days at Chateau de la Motte Beaumanoir. As mentioned, as a small family room business, it has many flaws. Yet, the location is well worth the faults. And its friendly owners, Michelle and wife, who have children the age of ours. We were so happy at the place, which was a great base to...

Booked this hotel as the reviews were great and we requested in advance dinner for the night of our stay. We drove 500 miles that day so on arrival we wanted a couple of drinks and dinner. We ordered a G&T and a beer to learn that they had run out of gin, so had a wine instead. We then...

We stayed here for one night on our journey from Cherbourg. It is set in lovely grounds with a lake next to it. We were offered complimentary drinks on our arrival which was very welcoming. The room had stunning views across the lake. I understand from the owners that they have only bought this property a few months ago and...

The first thing to prize about Le Chateau de la Motte Beaumanoir is its location. Pleugueneuc is a very small but still pleasant village located between the Ille-et-Vilaine department and very near to the Côte d'Amour. An ideal location to explore this charming and interesting part of Bretagne. Wonderfully preserved examples of medieval architecture (from the amazing Mt. St. Michel...

My partner and I stayed for two nights at this lovely Chateau. The setting by the lake, the grounds and the building - the perfect place to stay in Brittany. There are some pretty villages nearby to visit and Dinan and Dinard not too far away. I was amused by Jean Michel, the 10 year old goose and woke one...

If, like us, you do not like crowded places then this is the place to stay. We spent 3 nights at this charming 15th century chateau run by a friendly and helpful couple. It is a short drive from the bustling town of Dinan and St Malo. Our room overlooked the lake and besides the residence goose Jean Michel making...
