Nestled near the heart of Banff, Moose Hotel and Suites receives accolades for its prime location and welcoming atmosphere, complete with rustic charm. Guests commend the responsive service and appreciate the clean and well-maintained facilities, though opinions on room decor and size vary. While the hotel's amenities, including rooftop hot tubs and a fitness gym, are popular among visitors, some guests feel that the value proposition is diminished by high rates and concerns over soundproofing.

Our family of 5 recently spent 5 nights over Christmas at The Moose Hotel & Suites and really enjoyed our stay. We had two, one-bedroom suites near one another (1 with 1 King and the other with 2 Queens) and both were very nice and comfortable. The rooms were clean and spacious and each had a nice fireplace and bathroom. The staff at the hotel were all very young and very enthusiastic and friendly. The housekeeping staff did a very nice job of cleaning the rooms and the service was great whenever we needed it. There was ample underground heated parking (and we rented a Suburban and so I was concerned we would not be able to park but it was not an issue). The location of the hotel is perfect--it's a 5 minute walk to the main part of the Banff Ave which meant that the location was great but it was also quiet. We ate breakfast in the restaurant a couple of times and it was very good. The lobby is nice and inviting as well. We would not hesitate to stay at The Moose again and we would highly recommend it for your Banff visit!

We originally booked our reservation at Moose because of their sustainability initiatives. They provide reusable water bottles branded with their hotel name for the same price as a single-use plastic water bottle $3. The water in the sink is good to drink. Peter the GM even met with me to discuss sustainability! The hotel was designed in a way that is very pleasant to the eye and has a lot of wood/glass. I loved our room, it was spacious and on the 2nd floor. The jacuzzis on the rooftop were wonderful and had spectacular views- there is also a firepit up there. We got facials at the spa and enjoyed the private outdoor area and jacuzzi there as well. The room service was prompt and delicious. The location of the hotel itself is perfect. Right in the heart of Banff where we walked to every meal we had. Our adventure tours picked us up right next door, so everything was very convenient. I loved the bulk dispensers in the showers and how housekeeping only replaced towels we left on the floor. I HIGHLY recommend this hotels. I have zero to complain about!

Absolutely nothing! Our stay at the Moose was, top to bottom, amazing. I always take negative reviews with a grain of salt because you just can't please everyone, but with this particular hotel, I'm baffled.

The Moose is highly regarded as the top hotel in the Banff downtown area, and is one of the newer (if not newest) properties. The rooms are clean and contemporary, with tons of windows that let in a lot of natural light. Everyone from the desk staff to the housekeepers were so incredibly friendly, welcoming and accommodating. A big thank you to all of the kind and hardworking staff!

I've read some reviews complaining about the timeliness of housekeeping, but we never encountered an issue. And, quite frankly, housekeeping comes during the day so what on earth are you doing hanging around your room all day anyways? Go out and explore! You're in BANFF. We would leave for skiing every morning at 7:40am and come back to a spotless room everyday between 3:00pm and 4:30pm.

As far as amenities go, The Moose is in no way lacking; gym, spa, hot tubs, sauna, pool, ski lockers, etc. While the hot tubs do get a little busy apres ski on the weekends, we were always able to relax and enjoyed socializing with others guests.

I can't recommend this hotel enough. We will definitely be staying here again when we return in a year or two.

We enjoyed a four night stay at the Moose Hotel and loved every minute of our stay. We stayed in a one bedroom mountain view suite. We are fairly COVID conscience and couldn’t find fault with anything in this regard. The room and facilities were spotless - someone was always seen cleaning something. Staff were masked and very professional. There were sanitizing stations everywhere. The rooftop hot pools were lovely with amazing views and always being cleaned. We found no issues at all with crowding in the pools however, we enjoyed the facilities first thing in the morning rather than evening which I’m guessing may be busier. Room was well appointed with a little kitchenette including a decent sized fridge, microwave, dishes, toaster, as well as a one cup coffee maker utilizing a pre-measured coffee packet provided. Hoping The Moose changes providers for their in-room coffee machines before our next visit as it was really a horrible cup of coffee. Our king sized bed was comfortable with lovely linens. Good sized bedroom with storage options and a television. Comfortable couch with footstools and small table and chairs as well as a television and gas fireplace in the living room. Clean balcony overlooking the Main Street with a couple chairs. Bathroom was clean, roomy and well stocked with Rocky Mountain Soap Co. products. We will certainly be recommending this hotel to others and can’t wait to return.

I'm so glad we chose to stay at he Moose. We were originally going to opt for a different hotel, however, we switched last minute to the Moose due to their rooftop pools...what a great decision.

The view from these hot pools is completely stunning and I was tempted to stay up there all day! The indoor regular pool was also nice, and quite often empty except for us.

We opted to upgrade from a standard room to a 1 bedroom suite at check-in, which they offered us a discount off of the original list price. The upgrade gave us a fireplace with the sofa-bed and balcony, as well as a king size bed in the bedroom. There's not a ton of storage in the room, but we had enough for the three of us (me, my daughter and my mom). A fourth may have made it challenging.

The only thing the room was lacking was a tub for my young daughter who's still not big on showers, in spite of the lovely rainfall style they are equipped with.

The location can't be beat as it's right in the thick of the main Banff thoroughfare which was blocked off to traffic and was a perfect pedestrian stroll right outside our doorstep.

We upgraded to a two-bedroom suite which had a great view and was well appointed. Loved all the natural light!

Not sure why HK service can't be provided during our stay if this cost is included in the room rate and we are out of the room? Your staff are still cleaning rooms shortly after checkout so this doesn't make any sense.

The underground parking was a very nice feature and the hotel is located in a nice part of the main street.

With the exception of Emily at the Front Desk, who was excellent, I found the service provided was cold and unwelcoming. Staff in public spaces/hallways passed didn't even nod or provide any greeting and just stared from behind their masks.

I didn't see any staff disinfecting public areas during the 2 days we were there so we took extra precautions. I think the hotel can do a better of communicating COVID protocols and hygiene practices at check-in. The coffee/tea caddy was also visibly dirty with a buildup of dust and seemed like it wasn't cleaned after multiple stays. We avoided using any of the glassware or coffee mugs as we weren't sure if these were properly sanitized. The properly should think of switching to wrapped disposables during the current situation.

I would stay here again but only when the pandemic is over.

Stayed here for 3 nights for a short 2 day ski trip with the family. Great location as it's located all within 5-10mins walk to all the nice Banff stores/restaurants. IGA grocery store 1 block away, and 2 little coffee shops also a few steps away. Bus shuttle pickup to Sunshine and Lake Louise ski resorts is right next door. Rooms are well kept, beds comfy, heating machine was a bit wacky and kept blowing cold/hot air at times. Great shower and lots of good quality soaps/shampoos/conditioner to use. Hotel staff replied quickly by email to all of my questions. Even got our skis delivered to hotel and we dropped them off with front desk once we were done. Overall a great stay in the Banff area.

Stayed 8 nights in March 2020 in a 2 bedroom suite. The Moose is a new hotel in Banff only a couple of years old. The location is great - it has ample parking underground and it is only a short (flat) walk into the centre of Banff where all of the shops and restaurants are located. The ski bus to either Sunshine or Lake Louise departs about 30 metres from the exit from the ski storage area.

The room itself was fine for the most part. It was a reasonable size and had two spacious bathrooms. The biggest draw backs with the rooms were the lack of privacy, both from the common living area within the apartment, and also people walking past being able to see in. I noticed that walking along the corridors that all of the rooms had large glass windows where people can see in. It was a bit of a strange design feature.

The downsides were the quality of the housekeeping - consistently poor. Also, for such a new hotel, the system for storing skis overnight could be better. The restaurant was average and did not have a conventional hotel style breakfast - only a la carte.

There is a nice roof top spa area. When I was sitting in the hot tub and talking to some of the other 'guests' it turned out that they weren't even staying at the Moose but were directed to the facilities there from neighbouring hotels.

Stayed at this hotel for 3 days from 21 August, in a 2-queen suite. We reached early and decided to go to Sulphur mountain, leaving our luggage at the front desk. But was pleasantly surprised when we were offered the check in immediately. We stayed on the 2nd floor (which is the 1st as the ground floor is counted as 1). Room faced the inner courtyard. If you want a mountain view room, you must opt in for the King room on upper floors. View did not matter much to us as we were out of the room for most of the day. Room was clean with a small kitchenette (Microwave, coffee maker, toaster and cutlery), bathroom was spacious with a shower area. Would have preferred a house keeping service during the stay but was told no staff would be entering the room as a precaution for Covid 19, and any request for additional towels or toiletries needed to be communicated to front desk. Did not use the spa. We did go to check out the hot tub, but it was crowded. Most the places have restricted the number of people using these kinds of facilities, however controls seemed to be lacking here. No other complaints at this place.

This was our third mini-vacation at the Moose. We were a little apprehensive about traveling to Banff so soon after things started to open, however it worked out just fine.

Both the Hotel and the town are welcoming their neighbors for a visit and are doing an excellent job of keeping everyone safe during COVID-19.

The Moose Hotel is our first choice for all the reasons you look for: great staff, modern, clean and comfortable rooms, excellent location, free parking and wifi and great amenities like the restaurant, pool, fitness center and spa.

The spa was not open during our visit, but I understand that has now changed, and I highly recommend a visit.

During our 3 night stay, the room was not disturbed which made us feel a little more comfortable that the staff and patrons were distancing. It was just a call to the front desk for a quick delivery of any needs like fresh towels.

Overall, it was a great decision to visit. Once again and even under the challenging circumstances, the Moose Hotel provided everything we could ask for in a comfortable and relaxing stay.
