We stayed here with a few other couples. The staff were super easy going and nice. Great swimming hole with rocks to jump off, and hey catch some healthy crayfish! Stocked Fishing pond, arcade and a park for kids. Will go back again for sure!

Thank you for taking the time to write about your visit to the Mountainaire. We're always happy to hear that our guests enjoyed themselves at our park, and we try to do our very best to ensure they do. The arcade has been extremely popular with the kids (and some of the adults, too). And we're so lucky here to...

My fiancee and I chose to stay at Mountainaire and had a very pleasant stay. The staff were very attentive and helpful whenever we needed something. There was a very positive family orientated atmosphere. and movie nights on weekends for kids and family. All in all we enjoyed our stay and we will definitely keep Mountainaire in mind the next...

Thank-you for your kind review, Andrew. We're glad that you enjoyed your stay, and our clean bathrooms. Great guests make it a pleasure to work hard to make your stay everything you hoped it would be. I hope we'll see you again the next time you're in our neighborhood.

I can't understand why people would stay here year after year. You can pay for a power site, but it's for RVs only. There are plugs in the bathroom and outside/inside the laundry room, but only the inside laundry plug works. If you want to do laundry, one washer is out of order and the other has no spin cycle....

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your stay, Laugan. We are more targeted to RVs and families, the campground of one family's dreams may not rate nearly as highly with couples who are looking for something different. The last site available is usually not the choicest site on the campground, we think they're all nice but some are a little more...

This is a typical RV/tent site. I really don't like camping among the RVs but not much choice anymore. The site was clean and the staff are friendly. I found it a strange place with so many RVs that looked like they were staying for a lengthy stay. People watching tv as well as a movie playing in a common...

Hi Jodi, Thank-you for your review. Clean sites and friendly service are our main goal. There aren't very many parks that are mainly tenting anymore, the majority of campers are now in RVs and campgrounds have had to change to accommodate them. We have quite a few campers who come for extended stays, or leave their rigs here for a...

Wifi is not that good but if you have patience its oké. Very nice people and for Kids we don't have...

We had a great time and had a great site in #69 not sure why it wasn't booked already but it was a great spot and only a 7 minute walk down the trail to the river, beach was a little rough but the water and rocks were amazing, we just floated and explored for hours, watched people jumping off...

We're so glad that you enjoyed your stay! We love the river, too! I hope that you made it back in for the make up fireworks in Sept. If not, we're having a Halloween Haunting with all kinds of treats, prizes, and a haunted house topped off by Fireworks on Halloween night. Come on out. You'll have a great time.

The management is excellent! The campground is beautiful and quiet. It is a perfect place to get away and relax. The management took excellent care of our reservations and were extremely considerate of our needs during a difficult medical period with a close family member. I would definitely recommend this campground for anyone looking for a camping trip or to...

This campground was very friendly. There were many kids for my son to play with and it was nice that you can see the park from the tenting sites. They even gave us a free propane fire pit for my friend's birthday night!

Thank-you for the kind words and for spending your weekend with us. We love to see families and friends celebrating together, and we were happy to do our small part by providing a fire pit for Saturday night. Camping's just better when you can have a camp fire, even if it's propane. Looking forward to seeing you again!

Central on beautiful Vancouver Island, just south of Nanaimo, a lovely 40 acre campground nestles near the famous Nanaimo River. Out in the country, away from the noise, yet only 20 minutes to Nanaimo or the ferries, step back in time to the campground of your youth. Your Nanaimo camping trip won't be complete without a visit to Central Vancouver Island's favorite campground. Remember camping with friends and family, sitting around a fire in your campsite. Have you played horseshoes lately, or maybe spent an hour quietly contemplating the pond. That's camping the way it should be. Come on out and try it. ... more   less
