2023 Travellers' Choice Best of the Best
Abigail's Hotel is a unique accommodation experience that blurs the lines between a small luxury hotel and a heritage bed-and-breakfast Inn. Abigail's is an adult-only, intimate 30-room property that is housed in a 1930's Tudor mansion. Its special atmosphere blends the romance and charm of the past with the comfort and convenience of modern accommodation. Located in romantic Victoria, British Columbia, Abigail's is quietly situated on the edge of the bustling downtown core and is three short blocks from Victoria's Inner Harbour, within walking distance of all the major downtown attractions and restaurants. Life is too short to be conventional, discover a splendour and charm that has been lost to the ages and uniquely exists at Abigail's.

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Wonderful hotel in a fabulous location & within easy walking distance into downtown Victoria and the harbour area. Our room (the Orchid room) was beautiful - huge stained glass window, massive bed and a luxurious bathroom. The fact that the breakfast is included in the room rate was a real treat and absolutely delicious. It certainly set us up for the day. Abigail's definitely deserves it's Trip Advisor award.

Hotel's Favourite
My wife and I recently enjoyed a delightful date-night staycation at Abigail's Hotel, and it was nothing short of magical. The room's cozy fireplace created a warm, inviting atmosphere, perfectly complemented by the charming antique furniture. The culinary experience was a highlight, with delicious hors d'oeuvres and treats thoughtfully delivered to our room. Abigail's proximity to the Victoria Royal Theatre enhanced our evening as we attended a symphony, making the whole experience effortlessly romantic and convenient. The morning greeted us with an exceptional 3-course hot breakfast, a true delight for the taste buds. We also appreciated the complimentary light snacks available in the coffee room, adding a homely touch to our stay. The hotel exudes quaintness and elegance, making it an ideal setting for a romantic getaway. Every aspect of our stay was meticulously crafted for comfort and luxury. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect staycation. Highly recommended for those seeking a blend of romance, comfort, and culinary excellence in the heart of Victoria. Excellent value, especially compared to the Empress. (yikes!)

This is a wonderful boutique hotel. We had a big claw foot bath tub/shower in our room and the bed was a little higher than normal. As I am mobility challenged, I thought both would pose a problem. I found a footstool that helped me get onto the bed and the rain shower had convenient handles that allowed me to get in and out. The breakfast were scrumptious and changed every morning. Guests were given a daily menu with the Victoria weather and breakfast selections. My only regret was that I booked a room on the third floor. There is no elevator in the old section although there is one in the annex. By the time I pulled myself up three flights of stairs, I was pooped. Next time first floor or the annex!

Lovely stay, the fireplace in the room was cozy. Great breakfast 😋 always a choice of sweet or savoury. Service was terrific as always, rarely saw the housekeeping staff ...they just were like the shoemakers elves did their job and disappeared.

Hands down one of the best accommodation experiences we have ever had. Rooms were lovely, hotel staff was incredibly welcoming and kind, food was exceptional, service impeccable, and reasonably priced for what you get. We just truly appreciated our stay. Made our adventures that weekend much more enjoyable and memorable.

Absolutely awesome place to stay. Very cozy and clean. Only one thing I would complain about would be that the hot water isn't hot enough to fill the bath. It gets cold while it's filling. But otherwise we love it there.

All the luxury you'd hope for in a comfortable size, great price, and good location. Abigail's is welcoming down to the attention in every last detail! My wife and I were celebrating her successful Ph.D. defense AND out wedding anniversary. It'd been a long day; we opened our room door to discover piano music softly playing, delicious cookies and a hand-written card on the bed. . .and two small bottles of wine! We loved the oversized soaking spa tub, the king-sized bed, and the historical appointments of our room and the hotel with its sitting rooms. Also, the best self-service coffee machine I've ever encountered, and the complimentary breakfast in the hotel's dining room was better than anything we could've bought out. Sure, there may be bigger historic hotels in Victoria, but you won't find better than Abigail's!
