Over the past years, we have stayed a couple of times at the Helms Inn and enjoyed spacious rooms at a somewhat reasonable price. We decided to return there for an anniversary trip this Aug. This time, we were extremely disappointed in our room and in the service at the reception desk and ended up having to go to another...

This place is convenient to everything you want to do. We easily walked to restaurants, whale watching and the seaplane to Vancouver. This is an older hotel but our room was reasonably cared for. The kitchenette was helpful. Beds were quite comfortable. There is no restaurant or elevator so be prepared in advance or find another place to stay. Recommended.

Helms Inn is an amazing place to stay while in Victoria. It is right behind the Royal British Columbia Museum and an easy walk to most of the main sites--Parliament, Empress Hotel, harbor, etc. The staff is very friendly and helpful, our room was quite large and included an ample kitchenette, which was very handy (and $ saving) for simple...

We were here for the second time and we stayed in the Montroyal building, in room #105 on the ground floor. It is a spacious one bedroom suite, and nicely renovated. The bathroom toilet though, was filthy even though it said sanitized on the toilet, We noticed also that the bathtub obviously had a leak, and there was a small...

We've stayed here a couple of times before, and it is now our home away from home in Victoria. Pros: Friendly staff, very clean, remodeled older building with better than average finishes. Location beside the Provincial museum is excellent. Walk to all the inner harbor and downtown shopping attractions. One of the few places left with real kitchenettes: full sized...

Staff was extremely accommodating Suite well equipped even tho we did not need to use kitchenette. Beds comfy, room and building were quiet. Would definitely stay here again. Very good price and well located, close to bus line, parliament, waterfront, ferries.

We stayed here because it is walking distance to attractions and restaurants. The staff were friendly and the room was very clean. There is no elevator but this was not an issue for us. If you have mobility issues there are ground floor units. We will definitely stay here again.

Stayed with friends, we had 3 rooms and all were clean and well appointed. Great location as well. The rooms are older but well kept and clean. The 3 buildings are all well appointed with décor. No elevator so if you have mobility issues ask for a bottom floor. No complaints about this hotel as its well managed and reasonably...

First things first the location of the Helm's Inn Victoria is fantastic! It is within a 3 min walk from the Bc Legislature building and the fairmont empress. With shops and a supermarket nearby, too. The rooms were nice and the kitchenette was well stocked with free use of everything. The rooms were clean but there were evident signs of...

Really good location. Close to the parc, to the ocean and to the city. There is a well equipped kitchen and the person at the front desk is helpful and nice. There is a free parking in front of the hotel. Our room was a bit dark because of the building close to the windows.
