We are dedicated "B&B'ers" and have stayed in about 40 in 12 US states and two Canadian provinces. This was one of the very best. It is a Heritage home built in 1906 and located in Armstrong Circle on the Assiniboine River. It is the family home where the innkeepers raised their three children. The breakfasts were excellent with a... More

My husband and I visited Winnipeg in August 2016 and stayed in this beautiful bed and breakfast for two days. We stayed in a large, comfortable room with a huge bathroom on the third floor. The common area in the living and dining room is very welcoming; and the breakfasts were plentiful and of gourmet quality. The proprietor April Kassum... More

The Columns is a large Victorian room with wonderful touches. Our room had a pressed ceiling and lovely bathroom with multi-head shower and a great plus - our own large private covered balcony. If you prefer to sit in the backyard, there are two wonderful covered patios available with an interesting assortment of sofas, chairs, tables and accessories. We were... More

We booked this B&B at the last minute for our one-night stay in Winnipeg at the end of our trek across the Canadian prairie. There are many positives to this property and a few factors that are a bit weird. The Columns is located in a lovely, historic part of town, very close to the water. As soon as you... More

For the last five years (most recently in March 2013) I've gone to Winnipeg two or three times a year in connection with work I do for University of Manitoba Press. We have stayed here two times so far. For a 2 bedroom suite in a B&B it is wonderful value. April is a wonderful hostess, happy to chat and quick to provide help/service if needed. The hot breakfasts she provided were very good as well. Unlimited access to the washer/dryer was fantastic, especially while travelling with babies/toddlers who are inevitably... More
