Have stayed here a few time, the customer service and kindness of all staff has been Outstanding and Welcoming! Rooms are clean, extremely comfortable and front desk service is phenomenal! The staff in the pub and room service maintain the Explorer's excellence in Custom Service and demonstrates the true Spirit of the North in hospitality! Looking forward to my next... More

I do A LOT of travel for work and value the following things when travelling for business: * Comfortable work place in room with excellent internet connection: Free fast internet available. * Comfy bed (as it is usually a long flight or two to get there): Got a good night’s rest and could luxuriously stretch out in my king-sized bed.... The hotel is located where it is close to malls, restaurants, giftshops, banks and government offices. It is very popular place for parties and conferences. It does have a good restaurant and bar. For a bar, I expect to close at a later time in the evening. Some of the rooms are outdated (bathrooms, flooring). The staff are not so... More

At all costs avoid attached rooms, ones with the door to the other suites. Not unless you like hearing every little thing going on in the other room. Also, the hotel has many guests there to view the northern lights at 2-4 am. Do yourself a favor and request a room on floors 5 or less.

The hotel is well located. Aside from that basically everything else blows goats. The hotel staff is very cold, rooms outdated, and blinds smell. Also, the catering is horrible, and many employees do not speak English which makes it difficult for some travellers.

Stayed here for 5 nights with my husband. The hotel room is big and the bed is really comfortable. There is lots of parking and the restaurant and lounge downstairs are very nice. The Internet and tv selection are not very good at the hotel and could probably be updated.

The northwest territories. Bear that in mind when setting your expectations. Rooms are OK. Claims to be the best in Yellowknife. May well be. No local frame of reference. 3* in Ontario. Housekeeping could use a little nudge. Sunday brunch was good by any standard.

I stayed for 4 nights at the Explorer Hotel, one of the few non-smoking hotels in Yellowknife. I had a really nice and big suite at the hotel, and the food in the restaurant was good. Overall it was great, aside from a few (strange) downsides, mostly related to service: 1. Checking in. I came up to the desk, and... More

Great views, great staff and great food. A great welcome after a long trip. Had drinks and a bite in the comfortable lounge before going to bed in a super comfortable mattress.
