For well over a decade, staying at the elegant Hillsdale House has been an annual highlight for our group of (rug) hookers. We are always welcomed like good friends into this comfortable, immaculate property; and each year we become more appreciative of the beautiful period decor and the special touches in the guest rooms. Many thanks to innkeepers, Val and...

My wife, daughter and I had reason to visit Annapolis Royal and selected Hillsdale House as our accommodation. I had stayed there some time ago while on business and having recalled it being a pleasant experience, decided to return. I believe we were among the first visitors of the season, and being met by owners Val and Paul was an...

This place was so beautiful, elegant, and clean. What worked for us really well was that the baby monitor reached the area where we had the bbq for our group (about 30-40 of us) so baby could sleep within monitor range, while we dined. This is not something you can do everywhere. The bbq was high quality, healthy and tasty,...

I have had the pleasure of staying with at Hillsdale House three times now. Twice on business and once this past summer on holiday. First of all, Annapolis is a beautiful and historical town, and model of sustainability. I loved the wide, sweeping gardens and the quiet of this place. And yet, we had fine dining, good music close by...

I am hoping to be back in the area on business in the future so that I can stay at Hillsdale...

Val and Paul's Hillsdale House was our favorite accommodations during our entire 12 nights in Nova Scotia and PEI. We arrived earlier than the stated check-in time, but were greeted warmly and openly by Val, who even let us consider other room options than what we had preselected. However, we stayed with the king room, and slept beautifully! Loved the...

An accidental find, this delightful inn was without question the most pleasant place I stayed during my recent travels through Nova Scotia. Handsomely and graciously appointed, extremely comfortable, and full of character and period charm, it is the ideal base for a relaxing tour of the Annapolis region. The meals were fresh and delicious, and the hosts were warm and...

This was the best B&B overall that we stayed in during our Nova Scotia visit. The room was large, spotless and had a very comfortable bed. The grounds were beautiful, and property is well located to get to local sights. The hosts went out of thier way to be friendly and professional at the same time. Our breakfast was very good (we...
