Eight of us were guests at Holdsworth House this summer. The home is lovingly preserved and chock-a-block full of historical artifacts. Margaret and Tony no longer run the cafe but Margaret cooked an authentic Digby dinner over the fireplace for us. Margaret also gave us a tour of her home, which really is a museum that is habitable. Be prepared... More

We stayed at Holdsworth House for 3 days whilst on holiday in Nova Scotia and had a great time. Margaret and Tony were fantastic hosts, full of historical information about the house and good advice on where to visit and what and where to eat. Margaret also sorted out our whale watching trip for us, which was brilliant. The breakfasts... More

We enjoyed our stay at the Holdsworth House. Margaret and Tony were terrific hosts. We wrote our breakfast requests (from menu options) on a chalkboard each day, and it was prepared fresh for us at the time we chose. Breakfast each day was delicious, especially the popovers and potatoes! I used the patio out back for my morning exercises, so... More

My six children and I rented Holdsworth House for a week. Margaret and Tony were wonderful and left tons of good food for us. Not knowing how hospitable they were, we brought tons of our own but it was great they offered. Margaret gives you a great tour of the House and explains the depth and historical minutiae of the... We stayed at Holdsworth House for two nights in at the end of May. The house is a true gem and was lovingly restored to former glory by the hosts Margaret and Tony. They have kept the historic charm of the house. Upon arrival Margaret gave us a little tour of the home and it was really interesting to hear... More

Just finished a three night stay and we cannot say enough good things about this wonderful B&B!! Margaret and Tony are warm and friendly, the rooms are generously sized and the breakfasts are perfect! The homemade soap and lavender sachet were beautiful additions to a lovely experience. We would absolutely stay here again!

The food at this B&B was phenomenal and the hosts were great to talk to. We had 4 family members in one room and were very comfortable in the space. Margaret did a cooking demonstration over the hearth fire for us on our last night there, and that was a great experience as well. Definitely plan to come back the... More

Wonderful, quaint old house. Many original features. We stayed in the "James Room". Beautiful room, with view of the water. Beautiful quilt bedding and old-fashioned foot type bath. Lovely, helpful hostess. She gave us loads of information about the house. Very interesting. Loved how the interior felt like you were stepping back in time, as there were many original features... Spent two nights here and totally enjoyed the experience. Margaret took time to share stories of the history and restoration of the house. Excellent host and prepared wonderful beam fasts for us. This was our first trip to Nova Scotia and staying at the Holdsworth house has made it even more special
