We stayed at the Lord Nelson Hotel Feb. 20 - 24th - we were there on a work convention. The standard room we booked stated in the description that there is a desk. The room contained two very comfortable beds, a nightstand, a dresser, TV and a fridge. There was no desk or even a chair to sit on. I...

I travel to Halifax once a month from cape breton for a medical appointment that will be a continuance for the next three and a half years every month. I chose the lord nelson hotel because of its location to my appointment and because I loved how the hotel looked and its history. My first stay seemed great and I...

This hotel is very old but has been updated in a nice way. The location is pretty good but if it's during rush hour it can be difficult getting there and parking is s bit of a pain. My room was good. The breakfast in the hotel restaurant was delicious. I would stay here again.

We had not stayed at this hotel for a long time. It was a nice surprise to see the traditional lobby. The rooms have been remodelled and are very comfortable with plenty of room. The complimentary breakfast buffet was well thought out and omelets prepared to taste! We plan to return.

I stayed at this hotel as a first-time guest on August 2, 2016. I am writing to provide feedback on my disappointing experience. Although I was impressed with the beauty of the hotel, its central location and helpful staff when booking my room, I was very disappointed in the quality of my stay. Most significantly, there was road construction in...

We had mixed feelings about this hotel and would not stay again unless we 'had' to. Pros: - location was convenient to walk around Halifax and across from a beautiful park -but...see below for the con - service was fine - cleanliness was fine - lovely old property Cons: - location was 'a bit rough' - would not be ideal...

Beautiful hotel, centrally located. But we looked into a courtyard of metal siding! So make sure you ask for an outside view. Old hotel with lovely ceiling tiles and original wood. Our room had hardwood floors instead of carpet while was a first for me.

I would highly recommend this fine hotel to everyone! It is right down town - you can walk outside and you are within walking distance of all hospitals, stores or lots of stores and it is so centrally located. It offers hospital rates for those who have patients in the hospital or visiting the doctor. The rooms are clean, inviting,...

Arrived 2pm mid week in order to prepare for a later meeting, was informed by staff that there was a 30 dollar charge for early check in, I travel at least 3 nights per week I have not encountered this policy at other reputable hotels . Seems petty a on principle I didn't pay. Other wise good stay ruined by...

We booked a standard room and we were upgraded to an executive suite with a New Years Eve package that included a bottle of wine, breakfast for two and late checkout. On arrival the room was smaller than expected. Bed was right next to entrance of room. You had to walk around the toilet to enter a very small bathroom...
