Our host Mike was very accommodating. We were in Room 10. It was small, but clean and quiet. Private bath. The Inn dates back years and is well kept and tastily decorated. There is a nice sitting room on the main floor with a great selection of books, computer and printer. There is a large dining room for a continental... More

The rooms are plain. Breakfast was also basic but in a beautifully appointed room. We were disappointed that the dining room was closed for the season, and the whole town was buttoned up by 7 p.m. Say hi to Maggie, the cat.

This is the mustiest, moldiest place we have ever stayed. The carpet seems to be creating the bad odour in the entrance, up the stairs, along hallways and in the rooms. Perhaps the intent is to keep the decor in an old, antique bed and breakfast theme but cracked toilet tanks and sinks just don't cut it. This place needs... More

Hard to be overwhelmed in Pictou. As my headed said. Nice clean and comfortable. Slow part of the year but friendly hosts and convent to town. We walked. Breakfast is complimentary with the basics but after seeing all the buffets in other places, this was welcome. We could have gone into town but settled here. Rooms have been upgraded. Done... More

Not the first time visit to the Braeside, Mike and Anne are excellent hosts, the inn is clean bright with a garden to sit in and views of the harbour. The continental breakfast is as much as you want, fruit, yoghurt, toast, juices, pastries and plenty of coffee. Whether you stay one night or several this is a friendly and... More

The Brae side Country Inn in Pictou, Nova Scotia is a clean, friendly place in an excellent location. BUT it calls itself a boutique hotel. So, for me, the question is - What is a boutique Hotel. In our pleasant room, there was no tea or coffee or biscuits and the toiletries were minimal - soap and two small pots... More

This place was built in 1936. It was clean enough and the breakfast was good. Because it is old it could be an issue to carry the luggage up to the 2nd floor. The room was quite small, esp. the bathroom.

We had a reservation for Saturday August 20th. I made the reservation just as we were getting on the ferry at Prince Edward Island through Bookings.com. Bookings made a mistake and all rooms were full. Bookings tried to call but we were on a ferry and did not get the call. We got to Braeside Inn at about 10:00 or... More

Inn was built in1938. Many of the rooms look over the Pictou harbor and wharf. The location is excellent. One can easily walk to the water front and down to the little main street. It is clean and has good beds. They also serve a nice continental breakfast.

My husband and I stopped into this inn on the last day of our honeymoon. It was very quaint and a nice throw back to a simpler time. While most people would say it needs to be updated, I loved it just the way it was (and I'm 27). The owners were very welcoming and friendly. Offered to chitchat for... More
