3rd time at this hotel. Travelled alone. Noticed immediately that Covid protocols were in place. Needed to be buzzed in to initially enter hotel (could use room key once checked in). There was hand sanitizer at front as well as at all elevators. Room key also required in order to operate elevator; greatly appreciated these extra safety precautions.
Stayed in a King Suite. Room was very clean and well appointed. It was unusually warm when I travelled (spring like weather in November). Because of this, rooms on the opposite side of the building had become very warm due to direct sun resulting in the boiler needing to be shut off/air conditioner turned on. Arriving after dark and being unaware of this, I attempted to turn the heat on in my room around 9pm. After some time, my room was still quite cool, I called down to front desk. A heater was immediately brought up to me with the offer of more if needed and the promise to have the room looked at the next day. Shortly thereafter the front desk called me to make sure I was okay. They made it perfectly clear that if the room was uncomfortable, they would gladly move me. I was quite taken aback by the kindness and the extra effort to call even though a heater had been brought up.
As promised the next day maintenance came up, explained the situation (air con vs. boiler - 2 pipe system) The maintenance also went above and beyond and personally came back to my room an hour later to let me know the issue was resolved. Things happen but it's how they are handled that make all the difference!
The breakfast to-go-bag was perfect for me; piece of fruit, bottled water, granola bar and instant oatmeal. Housekeeping is only available upon request due to Covid. I didn't request additional housekeeping as it was just me but I did call down for more coffee etc. and it was brought up to me immediately! Very comfortable stay and I would definitely recommend!

My mother turned 90 on Valentine’s Day and wanted to go to the casino in Ottawa.
Prior to arriving at the hotel,we called and asked if they could do something special for her bday. We also asked if it were possible to have an early check in and a room near the pool. They told us our room was already ready,(this was the AM)! We arrived about 1pm and as promised the room was ready and decorated with balloons and 2 banners! It was one of the closest rooms to the pool area too. They even addressed a birthday card for her and it was on the pillow! We also asked for a cot and that arrived at our room within 5 minutes. The next morning we asked if we could have a late check out and this was granted as well!! They let us stay until 1230, free of charge!
The complimentary breakfast had a good selection and included eggs and sausage. I highly recommend this restaurant.

The rooms are huge, and the hotel was spotless, but really I wanted to give special recognition to the front desk agent Joey, who was by far the nicest and most helpful person I’ve ever dealt with at a hotel. I hope Management reads online reviews so they can see this because I could not find an email address for this location anywhere. So if you’re reading this, Joey is a superstar and I hope you appreciate what a great employee you have!

My 20 year old daughter and a friend have decided to do a year’s study abroad in Ottawa, Canada, they chose to stay at the Fairfield Inn & Suites Ottawa Airport as it was close to the airport and close to the University. Unfortunately their flights were delayed twice! but they eventually arrived in Ottawa slightly sooner than expected but in the middle of the night.
As concerned parents, we asked them to contact the hotel that they had previously made a booking with for the night of the 31/08 to see if they would be able to check in earlier – as their booking was for the 31/08, check out 01/09, they did not mind paying an early check in fee if this was applicable.

At 4:00am on the 31/08, they were helped by a lovely lady, who said that they could check in for an additional fee of $40.00 - which is a fair amount as they are staying in the room an extra 7-9 hours!
So they checked in at around 04:20am but at 12:00pm on 31/08, they were called by reception and asked check out and were told that this was a late check out!
Naturally the girls were quite confused because they paid the hotel rate for the 31/08 plus an additional $40.00 – but they were being told that they either had to check out or pay an additional nights stay!

The lady at the counter which was working the day shift blatantly told them that they paid for the night of the 30/08 and would have to pay an additional night, as per hotel policy, they did not do any early check-in before 9:00am.

In the first place, why would the night lady on duty offer it to the girls and secondly! Why would you pay an early check in for the 30/08 and pay a hotel night stay for the 30/08 on the 31/08???? I cannot get my head around this!?

Our girls had to pay the second night’s stay and the lady at the reception said she would refund the $40.00.

This is absolutely appalling service by the hotel! To treat young girls that paid the nights stay in advance plus the early check in fee with such blatant disregard for what their collegaues offered and to still take more money from them because it is hotel policy!? Where is your customer care policy!

They did not stay free, they paid the hotel rate for the 31/08 plus an additional amount.
The room was not in use, so the Hotel would have still gotten an extra $40.00 for that room – no extra charges on the hotel as the room would only be cleaned on the 01/09 when the girls checked out!

How is it possible to get two such different level of service in the same hotel – the night lady with compassion and a business mind to the day lady with no customer service and chasing potential new business away! I guarantee you that we will not stay at your hotel and we will definetly let all our friends and family know of our girls experience.

Booked into the Fairfield Inn Ottawa airport for a weekend getaway to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. This is a fairly new hotel and very well laid out. Front desk staff very friendly and helpful. We stayed on the 2nd floor down the hall a piece from the hotel. Very large comfortable rooms with a large bathroom off to the side. Comfortable couch and lots of space to stretch out and relax. The room was very clean and comfortable and what impressed me the most was how little you could hear from outside your room. Not sure if they have put extra attention into soundproofing but it made the whole stay very relaxing. Used the pool and it was lovely and warm...and a very pleasant atmosphere. The breakfast served was fairly common fare but there was lots of it...I was a little disappointed there weren't waffles but that would be my only complaint. Would definitely stay here again.

My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights during the easter weekend. From check in to check out we were treated very well. One staff member, Joey, seemed to be everywhere from the front desk to breakfast area to walking the halls to make sure everything is as it should be. Joey certainly enjoys his job and you can tell by the energy he brings.

We requested a room that over looked the airport as I am a pilot that loves to watch planes land and take off. Though located next to the airport, we could not hear any planes taking off or landing. The rooms are very modern and well appointed. The breakfast that is included with your stay is very good with a wide selection of items to choose from.

The only downside is that there are no restaurants located within walking distance so you will need to drive or get a taxi a place for lunch or dinner. Pretty soon though, light rail will be available at the airport that will get you downtown quickly.

Flight got cancelled so scrambled to find a place. Since I had the Marriott app it made it easy to quickly book before everyone else did.
Surprised to see such a nice hotel out by the airport- large rooms (very large in fact), large hallways, cement construction so don’t hear everything that’s going on in hotel rooms above and beside you. In fact I didn’t even hear planes taking off this morning.
Breakfast was above average for a free breakfast.
My only complaint — there is no skip the dishes or Uber Eats service out here, and no restaurant in this hotel. I had to walk to the Hilton next door (only a few mins) to eat. I have stayed at other Marriotts by airports that have a limited kitchen service - at least you have some options.

Thank you for staying with us while stranded in Ottawa. The Marriott is a fantastic app to have and quite handy. Indeed we are not your typical Fairfield with very large guest rooms, common areas and very quiet. It's wonderful to be able to watch the planes without having to listen to them. Wonderful that you had time to experience our complimentary hot / cold buffet breakfast, it truly is great with a little something for everyone. Although the Hilton has a great restaurant and is only a short walk across the parking lot, I'm sorry to hear that we did not inform you about Door Dash along with a number of other restaurants that do deliver to the Hotel. Perhaps the next time you find yourself visiting us you may try them out. Thank you again for choosing the Fairfield Ottawa Airport. We look forward to Welcoming you back another time when you are not stranded with a cancelled flight.

We decided to head to Ottawa early due to bad weather expected and were pleased to see the Fairfield was taking reservations again.

We had a booked a few times in the last 2 years however the hotel cancelled our reservations due to them closing during Covid. Luckily they did move us to a sister property at the rate we had booked with them.

The hotel is newer and extremely close to the airport. There are restaurants about 10-15 minutes away, though we ordered using Uber this visit.

Rooms are extremely spacious, we had a large bathroom with separate shower and bath tub, living area with comfortable sofa to watch tv (you can watch Netflix, Prime).

The hotel pool and hot tub are great and relaxing after a long day, there’s paid laundry if required and front staff are very friendly and helpful.

The hotel includes breakfast, cereal, eggs, pastries, fruit, yogurt which is great to start off your day.

I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel.

Great hotel. Very clean and smells new. Looks like it was renovated not too long ago. Rooms are huge, beds are comfortable and the room has every amenity you could expect in this class of hotel. The breakfast was good with many choices including fruit, cereal, eggs, waffles, bacon, sausages and juice/milk/coffee. Pool area and gym are nice and clean. Hot tub was welcome after a long day of walking and shopping. Staff are warm and pleasant. I would recommend this place to others.

Thank you for staying with us and for taking the time to share your experience. Actually we are a fairly new hotel opening late in 2018. Along with our wonderful Associates, the property does have so many great qualities starting with the many choices with our complimentary buffet breakfast, spacious rooms, 24 hour fitness centre, the laundry facility and that pool with the whirlpool indeed is welcoming after a long day of walking and shopping! Thank you for recommending us and we look forward to welcoming you back!

After a long driving day, we wanted a nice clean comfortable hotel to relax in, and this location delivered!

Upon entering, the lobby area was large, bright and airy with a friendly staff. Check in was simple and easy, and upon request we received a printed list of local restaurants for dining or takeout - this was really helpful as the hotel is not walking distance from any restaurant other than the hotel next door.

We were in a queen suite, which was cavernous with two queen beds, a kitchenette, a large lounge area and two large TVS. Lots of storage was available too. Nice view of the airport too.

Breakfast was a little busy and staff was clearly struggling to keep everything stocked up. Certainly the hotel should be able to predict how busy breakfast will be based upon the vacancy rate. This is my only fault with the hotel. I will point out that the elevator had a chart setting out the busy times of the breakfast area and we did arrive during the busiest time.

Overall and excellent hotel experience and we would stay there again.
