The location of this Hotel was good. Close to Lone Star Bar & Grill & the St. Laurent shopping center. Also, a five minute walk to the St. Laurent public transit hub which is served by busses & light rail that takes you into downtown Ottawa & only one stop from VIA Rail station @ Tremblay Station. Front Desk Staff was very accommodating. The daily cleaning of my room ( I stayed for ten days ) was not good. I did not get clean bed sheets, no vacuuming done & wiping down surfaces was not done at all. I did get clean towels on a daily basis. First day I stayed I found lots of long black human hair on the bathroom floor ( yuck! ). Room itself was renovated with a modern look, not bad at all. I found the bed was very firm. TV channels do not display in HD. Breakfast was included with my room. Food quality for breakfast is very processed & lots of carbs. Even the hard boiled & peeled eggs come in plastic pouch! The only raw & fresh food I found was an apple. Dining area for breakfast is in the basement of the Hotel in a small windowless room with a TV broadcasting Canadian news. I did find the nightly price was a lot more than it should be for a 2.5 star place but it was the only cheaper option out of the other Hotels in downtown Ottawa at the time of booking.

The location of this hotel was great - just where I needed to be and I was so happy that there was free parking. My room was nice - the last time I stayed here they didn't have a room with a bathtub (which I love to have) but this time they did and I was very happy. Staff were friendly and courteous - the facilities were nice too.

I don’t like to write negative reviews, but I know honesty is why I use this sit to begin with…

First, I want to say, despite a disappointing stay… everyone was very friendly (and we’re very apologetic).

Here’s the rest of it… we got into the room, and the towels that the last guests had used, had not been removed, and were still hanging behind the door and on the floor. Every towel was dirty, and wet (so gross… being I’m a bit of a clean freak, this started the stay off on a very bad note). It took us about 1/2 and hour to get new towels… but they didn’t have any more hand towels or wash cloths. Sigh
The shower was had mildew all over the grout, and the shower head was on of the old yellow round ones, covered in water scaling, and the water came out so hard it get like my skin was peeling off.
There were little flies in the room. And only k e of the two door cards worked (bad when you being the one to get coffee in the morning and can’t get back into the room)
And. To top it all off, the vending machine on our floor ate our money, and didn’t give us our water.

So, all in all, I have to say, I would not recommend this hotel.

But, the people were nice

This budget friendly hotel has everything you need for a short stay. The free parking is a great bonus for people like us on a road trip as many other hotels charge large amounts per night.

When we arrived late evening after a long drive we realised we had booked a double room instead of a twin which was not what we wanted (all our own fault). The lovely man on the check in desk was able to change our room quickly as he said it was important for us to enjoy our stay.

We ended up in one of the newly renovated rooms which was beautiful and of the same standard as other chain 4 star hotels we had stayed in on our trip. The beds were comfortable, the shower had good water pressure and everything was spotlessly clean.

Breakfast was basic but plentiful and as it was free who can complain?

I would stay here again if I was in the city and on a budget.

Booked this property for business trip and it covers the basics. The bed was ok and springy. The breakfast in the mornings was good. The room layout was a bit weird with the sink in the middle of the room and other than that the room was basic and covers all you need for a business trip.

I found a deal on one website that looked too good but it turned out to be true. We stayed there for 2 nights coming to Ottawa on business. Despite the fact that we showed up almost 2 hours before check-in time, they gave us a room on the 3rd floor. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room (302) was VERY clean and my wife (who is very picky about these things) really liked it. The mattress was pretty comfortable - neither too soft nor too hard. The room had a microwave and a coffee maker. Everything was working fine and we did not have any issues with that. Overall it was a nice stay and I would definitely stay there again.

Not maintained or cleaned, disgusting smell. Looked at 3 rooms and all the same. Wallpaper damaged. Not really a fan in the bathroom, curtain rods falling off. Even the hallway had an odor. Front staff did what they could.

Hello! My boyfriend and I went to Ottawa last May for a little gettaway. The Hotel is a bit older.... the room was good, bed comfy & the room had a mini fridge.
I think the breakfast came from a grocery store - Muffins, croissants, danishes, coffee, tea juice, etc. Very nice for being included.
The fitness room is nice - I could relax in the hot tub & watch TV while my boyfriend worked out.

The hotel did not have our 'tulip festival' package as we had booked, but they gave us a good deal on the room. It rained all weekend anyway.

Overall... very good for the price ($90 CAD/night)

Stayed two nights. Never again. Room wasn't cleaned. Trash was overflowing. No fresh towels. Bed not changed. Complained. Problem not resolved. Desk clear said sorry maids are gone for the day. Reported to the manager after returning home. He claimed I had a DO NOT DISTURB sign on the door which was a lie!! Price too high for the service or lack of service provided. Don't do it if considering a stay.

I booked three nights from Canada for a Cdn hotel and was charged US dollars. When I canceled I suddenly lost $50.46 Cdn. So much for free cancellation. I used to always stay at this hotel but not any more.

Hi Wsanders2016, I'm sorry you experienced this. It would be curious to see who you booked with as the cancellation charge would not have been directly thru us. What web-site did you use to book? Who was the 3rd party handling your reservations? It would be great if you could call us and provide us with some information as charging US dollars is not something we do and charging cancellation is also something we do rarely. Please call a hotel manager to discuss. Thank you for your feedback.

Hi there! Do you have monthly rates?
Ottawa, Canada
Hi Carrie, Thank you for your question. We do not have a honeymoon suite per say but we do have a deluxe room that has a jetted tub, king bed and electric fire place. We have a few little extras for a newly married couple. The cost of this room is $150 per night. I hope this helps and we look forward to being able to accommodate you or your special night. Please call our sales manager to book this option at 613-748-3718. Have a great day
