The room and instalations are all fully renovated, so yes the area is a bit sketchy, but the rooms will reverse your opinion about the neighbourhood.

The staff, particularly the manager with square glasses, is the main reason why I will never book a room there. She made mistakes on my reservation. She was not welcoming. She acted like if our family was disturbing her. She was looking down to us. I believe something happened to her right before we passed the door because there is no way she could be that mad at us. She was talking to herself, she was nervous.. I tried to get her confortable by talking about the covid situation or the weather, but this lady was so rude to us. I almost felt bad standing there in front of her.
If I go there, I will make sure she isn't the one behind the front desk. I could give a 5 stars because of the location in the middle of downtown and how clean were the rooms, but the service you received was too harkward and cold.

Considering it is situated in the downtown core, right beside a Theatre and on Rideau St., I'd say the hotel is quiet. Convenient that it is walking distance to CF Rideau Mall, Parliament Hill and Byward Market. There are plenty of restaurants nearby so another added bonus for the hotel. We had Room 207, it was small but again it did make it quite cozy. The hotel offered us a room upgrade but we did not bother getting our room switched since we were travelling in the middle of a pandemic. The front desk staff were efficient, friendly and polite. We understand that due to the pandemic housemaids are not allowed to clean and tidy up your room, however, you can request for fresh towels if need be. Parking is $10/night and that is definitely reasonable considering you're walking distance to pretty much everything.

This hotel was just "ok". The price was definitely good, and the location was good for the most part - 15 min walk from Parliament Hill, and near the Byward Market. Be aware that the area dies at night and gets somewhat sketchy. As for the room, it was ok. The bed was comfy, and some updates have been made to the washroom. The room could have used a new AC - the room had one of those older noisy models. There was some minor cleanliness issues (ie cobwebs). Breakfast was nonexistent due to COVID-19, but there's places nearby to get one. This place was ok for a single night, but if I was going to stay longer, I would go for one of the better places closer to Parliament Hill.

We had a really bad experience with Airbnb which resulted in us having to go to a hotel. It was such a huge relief to be able to check into this Days Inn at 9 pm on a Thursday night. We got a really nice suite with a jacuzzi and "fire place" along with our king size bed. Parking was free. Location was amazing. Staff were fantastic. Highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at this hotel August 19 with my daughters and another friend with her two daughters and I can't say enough about the service we received! We asked for adjoining rooms and we were able to check-in at noon which we appreciated beyond words after a long drive to reach Ottawa and the scorching heat outside! BUT, the most exceptional part of the experience was the front desk manager, SARVESH. My daughter forgot a package at the lobby when we checked out and I called the hotel the next morning and fell upon this angel. Sarvesh went above and beyond the call of duty and ensured the package was returned to us. It's nice to know that people still care and that customer service isn't just a term to be used loosely. More about the hotel: rooms are clean and well-maintained and the location was amazing! Steps away from Rideau Mall, the Parliament and all the restaurants near Byward market. I would recommend 100%!!!!!

If you're looking to travel to Ottawa on a budget, I highly recommend this hotel. It's within 10-15 minute walk of ByWard Market, Rideau Centre, Rideau Canal/Ottawa River cruises, and Parliament Hill. LCBO (liqour store) is a block away, Loblaws (grocery store) is across the street as is Shoppers Drug Mart and Pizza Pizza. The casino in Gatineau is also a 10-minute drive from the hotel.

Yes this hotel is in a bit of a sketchy neighbourhood but so are the Holiday Inn and Courtyard by Marriott.

This location is newly renovated. The wifi seemed to be slow, I had trouble streaming my beloved Blue Jays. The staff were friendly, I felt safe in the hotel.

Overall, if you're looking to travel to Ottawa on a budget and wanting to be in walking distance to bars, restaurants, shops and major attractions then this is the place for you. Don't let the neighbourhood deter you as non-budget friendly hotels are also a couple blocks away. Like when travelling in any major city, be aware of your surroundings and you'll be fine.

Hi,
My review;
1)access to your hotel
Access was a little cumbersome with the traffic flow from Rideau.
Turning access, once in your the parking facility was a little tight.
A possible solution might be to leave the back gates open a little later ?
2) Security
The entrance from the parking lot indicates the use of your hotel card yet the door opens freely.
3) Front desk staffing
Very pleasant and helpful
4) Housekeeping
Very good
5) Room
Nice size
Very clean
Smooth floor transitions
Beds comfortable
We has an accessible room that was very roomy and clean. One comment might be that it would be helpful for one of the beds to be slightly lower to allow easier access.
The washroom was a good size.
Also, being it was an accessible room it might also be a good idea to put in a tall toilet.
We were very happy with our stay with your hotel !
Thanks very much.
Sincerely,
Peter

While the rooms were nice and fairly clean, except maybe our shower being blocked up, and the beds were comfy, there were two separate gangs of people just loitering right outside our door in the parking lot. There were quite a lot of them as well and they were obviously not guests nor the car owners from the car park. The neighbourhood itself is quite dodgy with lots of crack heads roaming the streets around and the whole situation made us feel very unsafe. So while the price was good (although doesn't include parking), next time we will rather pay a bit extra but get a hotel that properly protects it's private property in a safer, cleaner neighbourhood where we won't be stressed coming back to the room in the evening.

Great location, parking was very narrow, back gate was locked in the evening.
Good price.
Staff was great!
Hotel security was terrible...The back door was never locked and has direct access to the elevator without the staff ever seeing anyone.
The elevator was very small.
Accessible room was great! I am 5’1” tall and I wish one bed was lower because I had to be hoisted in and needed help out as it was too high.
Bathroom was a nice size. It had a tub and hotel provided a bath seat but I brought my own bath bench. I wish the toilet was a right height toilet as it was too low. The hand rails were ok.

My experience at this hotel was nothing short of horrible. Let me start with the front desk. The person at check in was totally distracted and gave us the wrong key and wrong room. We only found out when we enter the room and saw people in what was suppose to be our room. Once we claim the correct key the door was not opening. On our third trip to the front desk we finally were able to open the door to find a smell that kicked me right in the guts. The smell was horrendous and there were stains from the carpet to the small sofa. After driving more than 6 hours from Buffalo, NY to Attowa we just wanted to take a shower and go to sleep. Unfortunately, our night was just about to get worst. When my wife tried taking a shower she discovered that the drain was clogged, what could be hazardous and result into our night worsen with a trip to the emergency room. We called front desk and a very nice cordial man came in with a plunger. After 10 minutes waiting for the water to go down the drain with the shower off if I may add we requested a refund so we could find somewhere to stay. David told us that he was not the manager and he was unable to give us a refund. He recommended us to call our booking agency and so we did. Until today we are still waiting for our money back after leaving. We received an email saying that they will not give us our money back which is disrespectful after our horrendous experience. This place is totally disgusting. STAY AWAY!

Good day turnbud2 and thank you for your question. Our parking lot is securely fenced and has appropriate lighting after hours, it is also covered by video surveillance. That being said there is unrestricted access to the lot from the outside, just like most outdoor parking lots in the city. Hope this answers your question and we wish you a great stay.
