Hotel Victoria was a lovely place to stay near the entertainment district of Toronto. It was also a short walk from Union Station, making driving a car to the downtown unnecessary. The old world charm of the hotel was married to very modern facilities in the room and I have to say the shower head provided THE BEST shower I've...

Not only are the rooms extremely small and amenities scarce, the beds are quite uncomfortable and they charge you $125 deposit upon check in, then when you check out they make you wait until a maid has gone to inspect your room and then you are permitted to receive a refund for your deposit and check out. I HAVE NEVER...

The Victoria is a small hotel with very fine customer service, very conveniently located. Everything important - comfortable bed, coffee fixings, refrigerator - is provided. The front desk and housekeeping are quite responsive, and will store luggage, call cabs, and give informed recommendations about restaurants, etc. (And there is no place better than Marche, half a block away, for amazing...

I was attending a multiday conference at the MTCC and staying at the Hotel Victoria turned out to be a much better location and value than the Fairmont (where I normally stay). The room was a perfect size for one and very clean and neat. And it was so easy to nip over to Brookfield place for some food and...

Hotel staff were wonderful. Very friendly, helpful and professional. Hotel was within walking distance of all the sites we came to see, Hockey Hall of Fame, Aquarium, ferry to Toronto Islands and St. Lawrence Marketplace. Room was spacious, clean and well kept. My husband and I are planning another trip to Toronto and will use this hotel again.

First of all, the location was amazing! Close to everything. We found a PATH entrance just around the corner, on the corner of Melinda st and Jordan st. This helped us avoid getting wet feet from the snow. The front desk people were welcoming and courteous. The beds and pillows were comfortable. Contrary to most reviews, we didn't mind that...

If you're visiting Toronto for a few days then the hotel has a great location. It's close to the subway, shopping mall and perfectably fine walking distance to good reataurants and sightseeing. The staff was nice and helpful, but the room could've been more equivalent to the pictures.

We had purchased a night here off of Travelzoo. Ill start with the good. The location is great, very close to everything. It's visually quite nice, very clean lobby. The attached restaurant is a good breakfast - which was included with our package so even better. A few things we didn't love are: 1) Windows were like tissue paper in...

Very nice comfortable and clean boutique type hotel. Easy walking distance from the train and bus station and downtown restaurants/entertainment etc. (We didn't eat in the Over Easy) Comfortable bed and the place was fine for our short stay in Toronto.

This was a half business and half leisure stay. The strong side is the hotel's heritage flair and the location. If you are an active traveler you will probably love it as it really sets you back in tone and you can explore on foot right there. For a business trip, however, there are catches, especially if you require proper...

Staying in Downtown West

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown West
Downtown West is home to Toronto's gorgeous Inner Harbor, and is a must-visit for lovers of art and the outdoors. The area's rich cultural heritage is celebrated by a number of monuments and museums, giving the neighborhood a mature feel. As a premier destination for modern art, people here stroll through the cool contemporary pieces at the Power Plant, enjoy the outdoor installations along Queen's Quay and Canoe Landing, and picnic among the zany designs of the Toronto Music Garden. The waterfront itself is often suffused with bikers and joggers, and the harbor is always packed with classic ships with masts raised. The vintage boats and ferries to the Toronto Islands make for a charming contrast against Downtown West's backdrop of skyscrapers, condos, and food trucks serving up hot, fresh fare to locals on the go. The area has a peaceful energy, and is popular with tourists and Torontonians alike.
