Very good downtown location, rooms getting dated, interiors no different since last visit in 2012. Would consider coming back if rooms upgraded. Exercise room also needs upgrading. Restaurant not busy, too many choices around?

A friend and I travelled to Toronto fro the Grey Cup. This hotel is close to downtown and walking distance to Air Canada Centre, Sky Dome, CN Tower, Hockey Hall of Fame. Great spot for sports enthusiasts'. It is located on a quiet side street. Older hotel but upgraded. Midrange quality.

Arrived at hotel on Saturday (Nov 2016) for what was to be a two-night stay. After getting checked in and then seeing our room, we decided that for nearly $300 per night we'd like something that did not feel like a room in the attic. Hotel refused to move us to a nicer room - there are some as we... More

In Toronto to see TSO play at the ACC, a great concert. Novotel Hotel is in a location, a 7 minute walk to ACC. WE were disappointed with the room, the bed wasn't fully made. This was a head shaker, our experience staying at Novotel for this reason was tarnish.

We thank you Novotel staff for taking care of our concern with the mattress. My boyfriend doesn't do well with firm mattresses as either I for when it's too firm my hip feels it. My boyfriend takes this concern to the front desk and by the time we came back from our day there was a new pillow top mattress... More

The staff at this hotel never missed an opportunity to rile me. I called ahead to ensure that we had a fridge and crib for my two-year old, both when we booked and two hours before we checked in. Surprise! No crib, no fridge. Went out and did our days activities and when we came back, guess what? No crib... More

Excellent location for events at the ACC. Our room was nice and clean but the carpet looked a little tired. When you enter the hotel the lobby is beautiful, they do require you to use your room key to use the elevator which is kind of quirky but added security i guess. Staff was very friendly. I'd stay here again.

A good hotel in a in great location within walking distance of the Waterfront and Union Station. Comfortable room & bed. Good fitness centre with decent pool, long enough for a good swim. We found the staff very helpful. Breakfast a bit pricey, but Tim Hortons and Second Cup nearby. Lots of good restaurants for dinner within walking distance. If... More

We stayed at the Novotel this past weekend and selected it based on its location. The property itself was fine but the staff severely lacked in almost every interaction. I am a platinum member and have been for many years and this is one of the poorest experiences I have ever had at an Accor property, which is normally my hotel of choice. - Hotel room printed information was out dated - incorrect restaurant times,... Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
