Got sent here by West Jet (nearly an hour from YYZ!) for a 3-hour layover. Better than sleeping in the airport anyway. The concierge was friendly and efficient (many of us waiting for rooms at midnight due to missed connections). Had my room within 10 minutes. The carpets look terrible, but maybe that's the look they're going for?! But the...

I was in town for the first time alone in Toronto. I am only 25 years old and this stay was a BIG deal for me. The hotel staff made me feel so welcome upon check in and I felt safe and secure right away. They were able to check me in early and even upgraded me to a renovated...

We stayed in one of the newly renovated rooms and it was super nice, clean, and comfortable. We were new in the city so we had a lot questions about directions and the men in the front desk were kind and helpful. The breakfast was OK, same as any other hotels, standard. The location was also excellent.

We were lucky to stay on one of the renovated floors, i.e., floors 11 to 16. The room was clean, bright and very efficient. It had a small fridge, Keurig coffee maker, reading lights on both sides of the bed and plenty of USB charging outlets. He staff was friendly and helpful. Parking underground and gated for $24/night with in/out...

The guest room I was in was very nicely renovated in a clean and modern Euro style. The indirect lighting in the room was great in the evening while watching TV or doing email. Lounger style chair in room was very nice and relaxing. On-site underground self parking was a plus. If you like to walk the downtown waterfront and...

Stayed here after our connection was missed at the airport, staff efficient and friendly. This hotel is currently under renovations and once completed it should be very nice. I would recommend for a short stay for sure. The beds extremely comfortable.

This hotel is under much needed major renovations. Room we stayed in was dirty with stained carpets, cracking walls, old dated furniture and a bathroom that needed a total gutting. The elevators during the day are being used by the construction crew and we waited 20 minutes for an elevator. Each time we left hotel we were aggressively approached by...

Avoid until the renovations are complete, especially for business travelers, unless you want to stay in a building site. I am aware all hotels need to be renovated, however the scale of this renovation is extremely disruptive and does not make for a pleasant stay. My first room on a newly renovated (but not quite finished) floor had no hot...

Ugh! This was a nightmare and if I had transportation there is no way I'd have stayed the night. Everything in the room was beat up, scratched, and nasty. And that might have been the best part of the place. I had to call right away to get the sheets changed, the room design was from the 70s, and the...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
