At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.

We booked one night in this hotel, mostly because of the child friendly pool with waterslide (as advertised on the website). We were informed after the hotel had processed our non-refundable booking fee that the pool was out of order for the weekend. No credit or discount was

Stayed for one night on business. I asked for a renovated room and I chose the deluxe room...and honestly would hate to see what the standard would look like. Room I received was dated and worn. Was clean, but worn. Balcony was in terrible shape and crumbling. It actually felt

Amazing location for the race! It was an easy ~10 minute walk to the starting line and not too far from the finish. The hotel staff were amazing and very welcoming! Wished us a lot of luck and ensured our comfort was checked. We were not expecting a room with a view, but

Having arrived in Toronto on an exceedingly frigid winter day, the Chelsea was like an oasis in a storm. The ambience of the hotel is warm and welcoming and the friendly staff are a huge part of that.Although my room was large but cozy, a fridge would have been a welcome

First of all, you have to remember that once you give your credit card # to the staff at Chelsea to cover the costs of your room, they can add on any additional charges if they chose to do so. I was charged a $1,250.49 for costs incurred by someone else and for costs such as room service, tickets and so on, which I had not pre-authorized. I have never even actually booked a room with them. I gave them my number to hold a room for someone while waiting for a cheque to cover the costs for these people, and they were supposed to remove my info off the file upon getting their money... It was 3 months later that they charged me all these costs which I was not even aware of until I received my monthly statement. I have tried and tried to get them to reverse these charges, and bill the people that actually stayed there, as I did not, but they want me to be their bill collector instead and go after the people for the money. This is just too insane. Anyway, because of this I canceled my credit card as I realized how unsecure they really were to allow this hotel to charge my credit card, although there is nothing on file to show I pre-authorized any of this... Best of luck...
