Plus: * A table, desk, three chairs and a 2-person sofa gave me enough space to spread out my things. (Photos enclosed) * Free internet avaible both through wifi and cable. (A very long cable was provided.) * Kitchenette with an empty refrigerator. (I prefer empty refrigerators of minibars stocked with overpriced items I don't want in the first place.)...

Thanks for the concise review! We are lucky to be in a quiet residential neighbourhood but still within walking distance of great restaurants, pubs and shopping. And we are near streetcar lines on Queen Street, Bathurst, Spadina and Dundas. I am glad you found the hotel and the staff satisfactory.

This hotel used to be student accommodation (a halls of residence) so is good for medium to long visits as it has laundry facilities and a basic kitchenette. The price was good considering the location and there are a lot of great restaurants nearby. The staff were also very friendly and there is housekeeping and fresh towels everyday. It isn't...

We are glad you found the facilities to your liking, and we do offer discounts for weekly or monthly stays. The hotel was never a student residence, though we do occasionally have students staying with us during their winter terms, as we are near the University of Toronto, George Brown College and Ryerson University. Thank you for the positive review!

My daughter and I spent the weekend at the Alexandra Hotel. It is not new or fancy, but it is clean, well equipped and the staff are friendly. The room had a single & double bed, small kitchenette with refrigerator & stove, table & chairs, a desk and good sized closet and nice bathroom. We are not inclined to spend...

Thanks for the honest review! We appreciate that you took the time to post this, and I hope you come again. I think the best thing about our location is that we are very close to places of interest but are off the main streets in a residential neighbourhood, so it's usually quiet. Glad to hear you slept well even...

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Alexandra from 8/3 to 8/7. I requested an early check-in because we were driving from NYC after work and arrived at 4am. Michael at the front desk was very helpful and he had the early check-in note on file and there was a room available for us which was a blessing. As others...

My friend and I stayed at the Alexandra Hotel for one week while visiting Toronto, and were not amazed by our stay but it was acceptable. The man working at the front desk didn't seem to care about his job or customers, which wasn't a huge deal for us because we're staying at the hotel for a place to sleep,...

Thanks for your review. We have been having problems with WiFi but are looking at solutions to improve service. Each room in the hotel also has a hard-wired connection and it is a much more stable connection. As for your issues with the room itself, don't hesitate to bring any complaints to the front desk, as we could have done...

The place is located just next to chinatown, 20 mins walking away from the city center. The hotel in general looks quite old, the rooms are clean and simple, nothing incredible. Service was good and the clerk was nice and friendly. It looks over Alexandra park, which can get noisy in the evening/morning with all the people playing sports and...

Thanks for the review. I'm glad you found the service good and the rooms clean. There are many decent hotels in Toronto, and prices vary with the season, so it never hurts to shop around.

This was my mine and my dad's first trip to Toronto (my dad's first trip out of Europe) and we were very pleased with our room. The view was awesome, we could see the CN Tower from our window which was great for me as I did the Edgewalk - I could even see the hotel from the tower lol....

Two of us stayed here for 3 nights in June. Not fancy....it's a former student residence for the University of Toronto....but functional. Even has a tiny kitchenette. Interesting neighbourhood...on the borders of Kensington Market, China Town and Little Italy....offers a bit of everything. Thanks for posting your review. I'm glad your stay was satisfactory! The Alexandra Hotel was never a student residence, but it is a somewhat unusual downtown hotel because we're able to accommodate long-term stays thanks to the kitchenettes and laundry facilities.
