This is clearly an older hotel in the never-ending process of renovation, however it's just not quite ready for prime time and needs a gutting and a hard re-fit. The doors on Yonge are always locked and the entrance is around the back - something that seems to confuse taxi and Uber drivers. The lobby is nice, but who cares...

LucyPBnJ, Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience at the Courtyard by Marriott Downtown Toronto Hotel with us. I am sorry to hear that it was not what you had anticipated. The renovation for meeting spaces and guest rooms was actually finished around June this year. With regards to dinning options, the lobby bistro is not...

WE enjoyed a lovely evening at this hotel. The room was far better than we expected and the rate was reasonable. From the time we entered the staff was courteous and helpful. It is situated in a very good location close to Dundas Square, just short walk away, with coffee shops all in close proximity. The hotel is very well...

Somewhat typical for a Courtyard. Rooms are decent and staff is friendly. Location is pretty good for the price; however parking is pricey and very slow on vehicle retrieval, and little charges like even for a cup of coffee are frustrating. Not to mention as a gold the only extra value was free internet; no drink, food, etc.... So by...

One of the first thing that struck me while entering the courtyard property was dim lighting in the lobby. I feel that can definitley be better. I was placed at one of the higher floors ( 12th floor if i remember correctly) This courtyard did not have breakfast included as a standard in the package; however i did manage to...

We had a wonderful, clean room Staff were very welcoming and check in was easy. Very comfy beds with dark blinds. Candice at The Bistro was my favorite part of our stay. So friendly, calm and helpful!

Stayed here for three nights for a meeting in the hotel in November of 2016. Firstly, the good points: my room was very large and clean with two queen beds and a large bathroom, I had ample good quality towels, there was quick and very hot water on the 14th floor, breakfasts and lunches served at the meeting were good...

I was there on business for 5 nights. The training was right in the hotel Wood A & B. The service was great all around: chamber maids friendly and did their job very well, manager was kind and always checking in to see how our group was doing, reception friendly and always smiling, lunches were quite good. I would go...

I am so surprised by the negative reviews. Just stayed here last night for 2 nights with 2 other couples. Our room was on the 9th floor and was recently renovated and we very nice. The elevators were only slow on Sunday morning when everyone was checking out at same time. We had a breakfast package and all enjoyed the...

Generally disappointed with this hotel. Parking cost is overly inflated, $35 for valet for one night. Requested high floor room and was placed on ground floor on street side. Fairly noisey. Paid for room with 2 queen beds and was given room with 2 doubles. When we entered our room, the air conditioning had been left on high and the...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
