Matrass was covered with plastic bag and bad odor in room because of bed bugs. Cleaning staff hardly cleans room. Only swipe floor once a week with vinegar, I suppose to scare bed bugs away. When asked owner to improve cleanliness she answered: " I could not care less." Struggled now for months to get rid of bugs. Never had...

Most of your reviewers seem to have stayed in a different B and B to me. My partner and I stayed one night in June, and we found the hotel to be very scruffy and badly in need of renovation. I have stayed in some beautiful b and b's in Canada and the owners are very proud of their homes....

I happened to stumble across Homewood Inn via google because it was behind a concert venue. Great location with a great price! I will be coming to this Inn more often when my visits in Toronto require staying the night.

A friend and I had booked a night here simply because it was right behind a concert venue which he had tickets for the night of. We paid about 50$ each for a split room which is super reasonably priced compared to the rest of toronto. It's in walking distance of downtown Toronto as well as many other areas. Highly...

What a great place. I had trouble getting a hotel room and was lucky enough to stumble on the Homewood Inn through web browsing. It is located, on beautiful Homewood Avenue, within walking distance of the Yonge/Wellesley Subway entrance . The house is charming, built in 1828, and it's charm is only exceeded by that of the hosts; Dolores and...

I have been staying at Homewood Inn for a number of years now, each June-July for Pride weekend/Canada Day weekend. I first was directed to it about 5 or 6 years ago when a friend's B&B was full. It's perfect for me as far as location, as I have a friend who lives around the corner who I spend time...

Toronto is 100 miles away. I am there often. I could not afford downtown hotels and the antiseptic impersonality of them is not comfortable for me. Last weekend, again, I stayed at the Homewood Inn. And thought what a good place and how lucky I am to have it. On a quiet still not overly gentrified street right downtown in...

The Homewood Inn has become my "home away from home." Since finding this amazing B & B in spring 2012, I have returned every trip back to Toronto. Delores and Eadie always make sure I feel welcome coming through the door checking in. Always a smile and a genuine "how was your trip here today?" I travel at least once...

Location: right in the heart of downtown TO. 3 mins walk from Wellsley station. Shared kitchen to cook your own food if you want. Cost: $80 for a double bed with shared bath. Can't beat that. Decor: home feel, retro into the 60's, a bit old but very tidy. Experience: the breakfast is generous and fresh. Lots of return customers,...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
