This place is disgusting. Additional $25/day for cleaning, $15/day for tv. The rooms are smelly, the air conditioners are loud, furniture is stained, the lobby looks like a crappy janitor's closet, they couldn't print a receipt for me, it took forever for them to email it after I asked. If you book with expedia you'll be charged in American dollars...

The place is a hostel, not a hotel, and it was too pricey for a hostel. A better rating would be in order if the hostel was accurately advertised and appropriately priced. I was traveling for business, but under the circumstances it was the only option for staying in downtown Toronto on short notice. The employees were nice. My big...

Old, decrepit and generally just bad. The price was too high for such a bad place but everything else was booked and i had to go for business. Tenting would have have been a step up. Who charges $15 a day for TV on an old CRT type TV on top of $137 a night?

we had a last minute trip to Toronto and it was a busy weekend so most places were packed, this was the last one on booking.com. It was so awful. We said we could deal with a shared bathroom, but this one had too few for the number of rooms on the floor, there was a queue outside. The bathroom,...

Horrible room that possibly you would find in a conflict ravaged country. Reception room is most untidy and man sitting behind tries his best to act professional. My son fell sick after staying one night. Suffered claustrophobia. Paid $177 for one night and felt badly cheated. Booked last time through this site

As a result of some bad planning and some bad luck, we found this spot as it was the LAST room in the very busy city of Toronto. I guess the positives were we had a clean, comfy bed with air-conditioning. Check-in with Moe was entertaining; albeit unsettling when he says, "Welcome. I don't want to scare you but the...

I made a reservation in March 2016 for 3 days in August. 12 hours later, the same day, I contacted them to cancel. When I was making the booking (in a rush), I skimmed through the fine print and read “For a no charge cancellation, please give us a written notice of cancellation, at least 4 nights prior to arrival”...

Please tell us how to control the fraudulent bookings. as without penalty we will have bookings where the person is making a booking simply to get a visa to enter Canada, and then we will have calendar full of bookings. Waiting for people to show up. Now if you were in hurry when making a booking 4 months before the...

On a recent stay I discovered the room I stayed in had a non-working television, as well as non-working televisions in the lounge areas. The fridge was shut off and the baseboard heat didn't work, so it was VERY cold in the room. All Monday the office area was closed. The phone on the wall next to the office to...

Sorry is the only word that comes to mind. I'm sorry I attempted to please you by providing a free upgrade, I am sorry; I did not provide you the detailed instruction on how to use a television. I am sorry that I cannot refund you money for TV that you could not operate the TV, or turn on the...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
