Great location but the check in and out experience was not good. The front desk took my card and charged me an extra $200. He did not explain that it was a deposit and had I not asked I would have not known. One of the credit card machines did not work so he moved to another computer. He didn't...

I'll put my summary first --- Would I come back here? Absolutely, as long as I got a renovated room. The staff, in all aspects (especially Pella), were excellent.... from the room staff to the front desk to the bar. All very courteous. The location was great as well. First, it is important to note that the hotel is undergoing...

I booked the hotel through one of the random deal sites and got an alright price. When you book the Pantages you're paying for the location, right in the heart of downtown Toronto. The lobby was modern and had a boutique feel but the room I was given didn't have much of that boutique character. It was a comfortable and...

Stayed for one night this week (Jan. 5 2017). The room was clean, large, and perfectly nice, the staff was courteous, and the location was terrific. The room had all the basic amenities (ironing board, good desk space), and also a kitchenette area which, though I did not use it, seemed very functional for longer stays. No complaints in any...

What a great stay at The Pantages! The staff were very polite and helpful, offered us a late check out at no cost, as we were seeing a late matinee at 3 the next day. When we were checking out, Samuel took care of our bags, offering to store them for us so we didn't have to drag them to...

We booked Pantages through their website using the CAA discount. It was a great deal- $96 for a Wednesday night in a King Suite. The Suite was lovely and large- king bed, nice bathroom, spacious room, kitchenette with dishwasher and refrigerator. Stayed in 1213, nice clean room. Parking was valet- $40 (a smidge pricey in my opinion). The valet driver...

Booked this hotel for after a show at the super-close Ed Mirvish theatre. It was great for our family of four. Nice kitchenette (even had a dishwasher). Very spacious. We really liked the bar-height table that rolls over to span the bed. Great for playing card/board games on the bed or for breakfast in bed. Shower had good pressure and...

My two teenage boys and I stayed here on a quick, impromptu excursion to Toronto from Detroit. Found the hotel online when looking for something near the Mirvish Theatre. We were pleasantly surprised to find it was two doors away (the online map seemed to show it a few blocks away but that was to the "front" door of the...

Located across the street from St Michaels Hospital, Massey Hall and next to Ed Mirvish Theatre. The rooms are a bit tired, but have an efficiency kitchen. It also is attached to a Fran's Restaurant, which is a good family restaurant. The beds are comfortable and mostly quiet. Free wifi. Good stay.

Stayed for one night...and wouldn't go back. Front desk staff lacks soft skills. Crack in and check out felt like a sleazy deal. No interest in the client whatsoever. Two of three elevators not working. As a result, you waited a long time to go anywhere. Room floors stained everywhere. Not sure why because they are hardwood and easy to...

Staying in Downtown

Neighbourhood Profile
Downtown
At the heart of Toronto, Downtown is the destination for cheap eats and fast fashion. Cut through by hip and trendy Yonge Street, the vibe here is young, with a strong student influence from the Ryerson University Campus. As a result, the Downtown area is always in flux: undergoing the construction of new facilities, with fresh retail spaces and pop-up cafes. Home to Toronto's largest indoor shopping mall, a number of vintage cinemas, and a healthy nightlife centered on the area's Distillery District bar and clubs near the East End, it's both an easygoing daytime spot and a popular party place after sunset. It also features some of Toronto's best outdoor landmarks, including Yonge-Dundas Square and the Nathan Phillips Square: perfect for a concert, a skate, or a relaxing sit-down.
